@@justinsmyth3211 Hey there, and well okay now.. Ur def mtn boy as well then.. Lol We may not have a lot of flash, but we got pride, values, a passion that runs deep for sports, esp all things UK!! When it comes to music, esp country music, taking 1 drive down US 23 Country Music Highway, and u quickly read Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, The Judds, Dwight Yoakam, the Great late Keith Whitley, Tom T Hall, Ricky Skaggs, Billy Ray Cyrus, Gary Stewart, Patty Loveless, and now Chris Stapleton as well as Tyler Childers! That's just the ones I can think of off the top of my head! LOL When you produce that many, it becomes more than just a coincidence! 👍
Never heard of the young man before. Not a big country fan, but this one tickles my fancy. Thinking I will look a bit deeper into his music. Thanks, Ty for giving me a new artist to listen to.
I definitely agree with you on the similarity to Country Roads, but to me there’s a big difference in chord progression where Tyler keeps the entire melody in major while John Denver adds some minor elements to the melody. Feathered Indians sticks to a 1,5,4 progression which is really common in country music.
He did that knowing his own scene was going to shun him. It takes a lot of courage to speak up over that much pressure, especially from where he's from. So much respect for him. Phenomenal man.
If you want some good hill music that ain't straight bluegrass, check out Goose Creek Symphony, the lead singer of whom, Charlie Gearhart, is a cult folk music legend in eastern Kentucky and who I hear Childers has been talking about collaborating with. Song choices would be either Number One Gravy Band, or The Corn Won't Grow live. Three guitars, a bass, drums, and fiddle, and you'll never hear a tighter band in your life, which I guess is bound to happen when you've been playing with the same core group for 40 years.
Older white male racist here. I have to say Tyler is my most listened to Pandora artist for a while now. You really need to listen to much more of his works. Like moss, mold or beautiful women, his songs WILL grow on you and leave you in appreciation of of normal peoples lives and struggles.IMHO he is way underrated but I'm sure that has already started to change. Something to be said when you can sing and play solo and just pull raw emotion out that people understand.I'm Not a racist but that's what the leftists call us now . Can't they just get along?
stupid leftists nice opinion 💁🏻♀️😏. I respect anyone else’s opinion, & as nice as that is, I dont go anywhere for anyone.... especially whom is sorta rude for no reason. Maybe express an opinion next time 🙂. Happy Holiday’s 😬
I'm from Eastern Kentucky myself, this guy is a mega star here. Kentucky proud! 💯

Hey there, I live in Powell county but I'm from Estill county.

Other good song choices are Nose On The Grindstone and Lady Mae.

I’m glad you waited until the end for your thoughts. Sometimes you tubers do too much pausing.

He on the Kentucky side of the West Virginia line is how he was looking over West Virginia
7:01 not wrong
The chords, chord progressions, and strum patterns he uses is pretty much classic bluegrass.

Good choice. Love this one.
Thank you Ty :)
This song a banger

Yeah, we're well aware. A lot of Kentuckians still use that slang so that's how he sings it.
