You really make me want to give things a go! Love your pages, particulary the ones in Camilla D’Errico’s book. Thank you for sharing your drawings, would love to see more of what you draw.
Hi Jackie, absolutely stunning pages, you never disappoint, thank you for sharing your work with us. I also love the little drawings you did, is there no end to your talents. Also really love 🥰 the crinkling of the pages as you turned them, perhaps you could do a short video of crinkling pages 😂. Take care 😊
Lovely selection of pages you’ve made this month Jackie, and such a variety of textures. Thank you I like these videos as it’s nice to see all your month’s pages together ❤
Lovely pages Jackie! Love seeing your work in Camilla D’Errico. And your drawings are so cute!! I’m going to be drawing more this year, too. Looking forward to seeing your progress ☺️ Thanks for sharing!
Great pages! I find I do love your watercolors pages the best! They are amazing! I have yet to try watercolors: got nice paper and started scanning and printing some pages, just waiting for the paint to arrive! Thank you for the video!
❤ Beautiful Pages.. LOvE the ken book , that loose acquarelle style really suites the illustrations and i also enjoy the crinkling noise of the pages 😂
You may feel that you didn't color a lot of pages, but the quality of your pages is what really counts for me. Each of your pages has real talent and depth to them. I love your work in the Ken Matsuda book, however I agree that your best coloring book pages are the two from Gugeli. You are so talented, your sketchbook drawings are fantastic. The characters are so cute, especially the party pigs.
I’m not sure if an Australian Amazon link is much use but they are Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints and Kuretake Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau paints. Google and shop around your local area….sometimes they are cheaper in art stores 🤞
When I bought my watercolor ground, I bought white instead of clear, and because it was what I already had on hand that's what I was using briefly in coloring books. To be honest that's what your watercolor ground prepped pages look like: exactly like mine do with Danial Smith WHITE watercolor ground applied, which greys out the lines to some degree. I expected that because I had to choose between the white and the clear, plus anything labeled "titanium white" -- including my own bottle of DS watercolor ground -- is always going to be more opaque than less. That's generally what titanium white pigment does; if you want a more translucent white you have to go with something else, like zinc oxide. But I didn't see anything like that on your bottle at the time, so I just kinda thought, "Huh," and continued watching on cruise control, lol. I don't know why I didn't think to do this before, because we even chatted back and forth in the comments on that video ("Colouring books and watercolour ground"), but today I looked up the specific product that you're using, the Derivan Matisse, and to my immense surprise neither the visible parts of the bottle nor the official Matisse site ever say whether it's "white" or "clear" or what it's supposed to be! So I'm not sure how you were ever supposed to have known. But if you get a chance, look at some videos using the DS or other CLEAR watercolor ground, because to the best of my memory the clear does not grey out the black ink lines at all. For me it's not an issue because I now use the acrylic glazing liquid, which is always clear, but if your ongoing preference is for watercolor ground then you should be aware that when you run out and are ready to upgrade, a clear product might suit you better than this unlabeled what-have-you. I know you were just getting this inexpensive bottle as a trial, but to me it is a disservice not to let a buyer know upfront whether it's opaque or not, IMO. But even so, you made it work for you. That's what I love, and it's how we learn. Great video, Jackie!
That’s interesting and I will keep it in mind, though to be fair I don’t know if I really want to be bothered with prepping pages - I’m rather lazy and would rather just be colouring 😁 Thanks for watching and your comments, Jackie
Thank you for showing us your drawings, the highland cow was the cutest thing, just adorable. Do you like the paper in the Cristl Vogel book? I've considered buying some as I love the illustrations but I've heard such conflicting reviews on the paper and many reports of the books falling apart?
The Christl Vogl book has decent enough paper, but it’s not suited to the heavy marker use and large amounts of water that I like to use (but that’s not unusual 😁). I haven’t had any problem with pages coming loose yet 🤞 While I do enjoy the nostalgic illustration style I don’t think I will be buying any more though…..
Lovely pictures ❤ I bought some Ohuhu water based markers and they go through on every page I have tried. Very disappointed. Plus they are very streaky. I just bought them to try as I usually just use pencils.
I’m sorry to hear that. Have you tried scribbling them onto a plate or palette and then using a brush? I’ve found that method to be useful sometimes when they bleed through when used directly on the paper, if you check out my playlist titled “How I use my art supplies” I have a few videos showing different ways to use markers. You might have to save them for single sided pages only unfortunately…
I love your coloring style! Beautiful pages in beautiful books 😘
Thank you so much! ❤️
Beautiful finished pages ❤ and I’m in love with the sketches and that book is adorable how you did that ! Love it ❤
Thanks so much Jackie ❤️

Thank you, that crinkling sound is rather satisfying isn’t it?! 😄
Just started my first page in Find Color by Gugeli. The book is stunning and have used your video for inspiration.
That’s great to hear! I hope you enjoy working in it, the paper can be a little challenging but the art work is beautiful 👍
Your pages in the ken Matsuda book are really amazing.
Thank you 😊

Thanks Karen, that’s really kind of you. I had fun with the pigs! 🐷
Your watercolor colouring is absolutely amazing ❤ can you please share link for those paints?

Looks like you had a lot of fun with the Gansai paints. I’ve only got the Tambi opals and a Shin Gansai set from Holbein so I should have a play
Yes, I did! I hope you enjoy reading-discovering yours 😉
😍
