Your garden has changed so much already. I really hope you do a years garden review in August as a separate video to your garden tours to highlight just how far the garden / property has come under yours and Jason’s stewardship 🥰
You could highlight the things that have surprised you both, the things you both love, any areas you both wish you could change / adapt, what you are most excited about, plans for the following year…. ❤️
Yes. And compare the accomplishments against the😊 recommendations of Glassman.
Instead of leftover garden, you could call the space in front of the fence by the road the second chance bed!
Hi Janey! Just weighing in on the pomegranate tree. It looks so healthy now! When you moved in it was pitiful looking. Your magic has changed the tree health! It's beautiful now!
I would leave two for your dog peeing because then he’ll find another flower to pee on so the scent of that plant might be just his pee area and put up a little sign saying Monty’s bathroom
That would be cute ❤
Hi Janey,
I look forward to watching your channel daily!
I'm so glad you and Robbie decided to 'show it how it is' rather than hiding the mistakes and unfinished projects. That's real life when you don't have a staff to help. I think it's important
to 'keep it real' - no need to be embarrassed, we're humans doing our best, keep it up!
Yea, for the Pomegranate tree! Thank you for this beautiful garden tour. I can't believe how beautiful your garden looks. It's so wonderful to watch your progress. I learn wonderful things every time i watch.
I’m Team Pomegranate!! Not only is the fruit yummy to eat, but the bright orange/red fruit on the tree is beautiful as well. Keeping it pruned up and shaped will keep it beautiful.
They are so pretty to use at Christmas!
That's a good idea that I'm liking showing the ugly too and what can be done to hide or fix problems. Not just look at the pretty. Real life ❤❤❤
What we all were looking forward to seeing, your garden. It's happening. Awesomeness !!!!!
Janey that propane tank is a necessity for your family.Any negative comments about it just ignore.what we are looking at is the garden and plants.by the time everything fills in no one will notice. Give yourself grace. You are doing a great job.
I agree. I’m so tired of hearing about the propane tank. We all know why it’s there. It doesn’t have to be explained in every other video. I watch near daily. I’m cheering on her progress and this project is a dream for most of us.
You're doing a great job Janey and I think we all appreciate your down to earth approach as many have said " keeping it real !! You ha e come so far in a short time and of course what a blessing to have your sweet Jason helping you also !!
You and Jason have done wonders on your new immense garden and home and I think that concentrating on certain areas was the right and wise decision instead of diluting your efforts all over the property.
Michael, the magic designer should be able to come up with a design around the propane tank so you can leave it it where it is and be able to live wth it. See if he can help with that.
We've been talking about it. I just can't decide what I want to do bc really I just dont want it! 😆
Hi Janey,
I love that you’re showing your real life garden. I have an air containing unit that stands out in my garden. I just remind myself that I’m going to love that air conditioner in the middle of the summer when we’re in the high 90s/low 100s! It has a purpose and that’s okay with me. 😊
Not eating your PERFECT artichokes? That’s a downright crime!!!! 😂😄
I just found you and I’m so grateful. I’m in Bakersfield Finally someone who knows what it is like to garden in the valley
A pondless waterfall would be beautiful in the center. The sound is so relaxing.
Good move to save the pomegranate tree! But it is your garden 😀
Wouldn't it be beautiful to paint your front 3 pots the same green color as your front door. I love your channel, thank you for sharing.
I vote for green pots in front of the zigzag planter too!
I have an idea for the propane tank!!! Build a bench with an arbor above over top of the tank! Turn it into a sitting area and plant beautiful flowers all around it ( you can still access the fill hole for the tank) You could paint the tank first
They can not paint the tank.
Good morning❤ now you need a popcorn plant. When you rub the leaves it smells exactly like popcorn from the movie theater ❤ and.....its the most beautiful bush with yellow flowers
Wow your garden us coming along so beautifully! I also love the idea of planting your extra flowers in front of your fence by the road. What a magnificent show for all the passerby's!
What you have accomplished is major, and I had no idea even before you injured your foot, that this much would be blooming, planted, and just marvelous!
I can't wait until Jason is also able to join you permanently, as your channel grows, and he can stop working his regular job to work with you too! So fun!!! thank you again!
Your vision for this property is coming into view. I’m looking forward to seeing it fill in.
I think a green shrub/tree would look best. You have the green all four seasons. If a lemon tree, there will be lemons all over the ground. I remember how your oranges that were all over the ground which added an additional chore, picking up the lemons that fall.
How about random garden instead of leftover It all looks amazing! I am so inspired 🎉
What about planting dusty miller for your “white “ element. I think the color and texture would look great
Isn't it amazing what a meandering path can do to change a space? And when all the plants fill in it will be even more glorious!
Your gardens are beautiful! I can't imagine how much work it has been for you and your family, but I do know how passionate you are about it, and I love that about you! Thank you for showing us the 'not so pretty' areas such as the above ground tank. We ALL have them in one form or another, why hide them and pretend they don't exist. I think we all embrace it when you or other gardeners keep it all very real - otherwise it feels like it's never attainable. Thank you, Janey.
Thank you Mary Beth! I appreciate you saying that
Hi Jeany. Gardens looking beautiful. You and Jason are doing a great job. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden update. 👌. Happy gardening. 💚
Fun journey indeed! Looking so pretty. Call the front your "extra" flower garden.
I would grow a pumpkin patch somewhere in your front yard. That way, I'll have all kinds of pumpkins to decorate in the Fall. Especially the white flat stackers. Those are my favorite!
yessssss
Janey, I have a blank backyard except for 4 trees I’ve planted so far. Watching your progress is so inspiring to me! And the pomegranate tree is safe for the season! Pruning and shaping it could be a fun project, in your free time😆. I had one that I loved so much. I kept it in its natural form but pruned off any adventitious growth/suckers. Yours is in a much better spot, where it can really spread out. I’m off to weed…
Hey Janie, love your garden and channel! How about sowing wildflower seeds in the fall between your transplanted daffodils and the fence . I think it would look beautiful ☺️
Yes!! Love that idea!
The area in front of the gate can be your second chance garden bed instead of the leftover garden bed. I think it has a nice ring to it!
Yes! So sweet!
Call it a CATCH-ALL garden on the street
Why you don't reply to me please
Ask Ceasar Milon(the dog whisper)how to deal with your dog tinkling on the plants.
Just found you recently. I’m also in northern CA -Auburn area. So happy you’re sharing your garden and knowledge. I never knew about the sunset garden zones and I’m so excited to explore more. I love your explanation of the USDA zone limitation and pushing past that and experimenting. I’ve been wanting to try a few things from zone 7 and 8 and now you’ve given me the courage to go ahead. One question: why no lantana on your best if the west garden? I think they’re so beautiful and grow everywhere…. Yes maybe even another parking lot plant 😂😂😂
Paint that tank a beautiful color
Yay pomegranate tree stays! The bloom is beautiful surprise.
“Ortho Grass B Gone “ to get rid of your Bermuda grass. It won’t harm your other plants. However, the ground needs to be wet when you spray it.
I fight Bermuda all the time and this is a MARVELOUS invention!!! Patience is a virtue after spaying but it sure works GREAT!!!
Sure enjoyed the garden tour. I love all the flowers you have chosen. It makes me feel good to see some weeds, tanks, and air conditioner units as that is life. I watch you every day.
Good! That makes me happy to hear you say that Margaret!
I am thinking back to the beginning of this garden, hot , dry, the end of summer. You have really transformed the feel of your garden! How fun that you still have a lot of space still to develop. Sometimes the wait is best because you can morph those original ideas and expand the design. I’ve been in my garden for about 25 years now and it’s pretty full so now I reinvent areas to keep the excitement going and to make a space that works for how we live now. Just plain wonderful Janey!! I’d like to see you add a lemon tree to your citrus orchard. We use ours like crazy. Also I would like some advice on the best planting and care. I have a small lemon buts she is struggling. Love your channel 😊
Thx Janey for introducing me to Helen Von Stein and Mystic Spires. I live in north Texas zone 8b and have been trying to find plants that will survive our heat. Also planting pink profusion salvia. It’s so beautiful in your garden.
Yes you have a wonderful garden. I love watching you and all your content. I live in Oroville California also zone 9b. Not far from Davis. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
Can you paint the tank green to blend in or plant around it?
Maybe build a box around it with trellis material.
Hi Janey, your garden looks fabulous! The cats pajamas is just that! With the orange blaze… oh so pretty! 💜🧡
I love how your garden is progressing!
Hey can you paint the propane tank?! Maybe paint it to look like a pig so that it looks whimsical like you want it there until you can move it! 🐖🐷🐽
Sunset Western Garden Book & zones are my go tos! Used them as a So Cal gal and have my faithful 1991 Book with me here in France! It also takes into consideration Elevations, which can make or break a plant.
Good morning. It is amazing what 1 year does for all the gardens you have. I was thinking that if you divide your gardens into zones then you would not get over whelmed with the weeds and it would help you stay on top of them. I have heard so many gardeners do this and I have done it my gardens and it helped me stay on top of the weeds. Just a thought. I have put so many of those plants that you have on my wish list and will slowly add them into my gardens. Love how they are turning out. Hopefully you will enjoy the rest of your day.
I like your :sit on the deck, drink my coffee, and smell the heliotrope"! As I watch this, I'm thinking...Oh, how I love your Zone! So many beautiful plants and combinations and amazing design!
Hi there! I follow you! And you have a beautiful garden as well! 😃
I'm so happy for you and your new garden and house. Everything is truly coming together. Good job Janey
The pomegranate tree does look awesome, under your care. However, if you don't eat pomegranates, you might consider removing it and put something in you will like and eat.
❤love your garden and the approach you are taking in creating a garden that is native to your area. And I am so jealous of your orange trees. So awesome to see your California garden
If you are having to wait on moving the propane tank how about painting a bunny burrow scene on the front or on a board and post in front?
I've been on a mission to pull out every verbena bonariensis seedling I see this year! I planted it two years ago and last year it took over my garden. NO MORE!
Thank you Janey for keeping it real. Your channel is becoming my favorite. Thanks for the info on Annie’s. I’ve placed an order. 7a here.
Wishing you the best in your garden.
I have been watching ur older videos of what u planted last year. And had forget what u had planted already. Imagine this garden in July! Cannot wait.
Hi Janet, I really enjoy your channel, your garden is coming along. I have to say I’m team pomegranate, especially since you limbed it up, it looks great.
This just in; pomegranate tree receives a last minute reprieve from Governor Janey! Good decision Gov!
lololol. Breaking news!
Jayne my parents had a propane tank just like yours. So my dad decided to paint flowers on it. It made a world of difference. Your yard is looking so beautiful!!!!
Please keep the pomegranate tree it’s very happy in comparison to when you first moved in.
Love the WIDE ROWS for the cut flower garden! Plants always get bigger than you think they will and you'll have space to walk. Very smart planning! I also like your idea for the "leftover" annuals that naturalize in your zone. Other names for that garden area could be your Legacy Garden, Bits & Bobs, or The Blessing Garden because you are abundantly blessed that annuals overwinter for you!
Beautiful 🌸
Nice sharing, thank you!💜💜💜👋👍
Just amazing! So much color already. Love, love, love. 💚Won’t using a weed killer like captain jack’s also kill your plants nearby? I’m always afraid of overspray or it leaching to the plants I want to keep. Weeds are such a pain but we all have them. Lol
Janey, it's amazing how much you have planted and everything is growing so beautiful. Your garden has changed so much. It's just so beautiful. I love your channel. You are so amazing. ❤
Team pomegranate ❤
It's really beautiful!!❤
Glad you and your garden 🪴 are looking good
Wow, what a great job..💚
Love it❤ good job . I love your videos.
Love it!!
Everything is beautiful!
Janey- an idea to make the propane tank “disappear”.. what if you painted it black? I know many propane companies in our area allows you to do so. Just a thought..
I love all the unique plants you have. 😁❤️
The blooms on the pomegranate tree are so pretty!
Love your channel. Everything is looking gorgeous.
Everything looks so nice. Lavender would be really pretty behind the daffodils, too! ❤M
Great tour!!!! 💚
Best of west. Awsome 😊
Great hobbies Natures. Thanks
Wow! Your lime tree is my favorite!
Everything is looking great. Your work and vision are making it happen.
Looks like the plants are takin in well, pops of color all over, very nice😊
Everything is looking beautiful , looking forward as it evolves. Thank you for sharing 😊
Your yard is really coming along. I can’t wait to see it in a few months. So much fun to watch your journey.
You've come SOOOOOOOO far and it looks SOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!
Great idea. It was good to see the results
Lovely garden tour.
In the SoCal desert here, we sure do get forgotten here in 9b. I love the inspriration, thank you
The Silver Bush Morning Glory might be better with a bit a dappled shade. I think in it's native Mediterranean it grows near the ocean so interior heat with full sun might not be the best for it.
The Artichokes are gorgeous!!!
Yay for the normal gardens🎉
Your zig zag garden is so amazing!
It’s amazing how fast your plants are growing! It’s looking so incredible! I love all the color ❤
Love your tour janey!!! All your efforts will be ver rewarding soon!!! I see many garden tours at your home soon!!! ❤❤
Your garden is looking so beautiful. I am new to gardening. I have a large yard too…not as big as yours, and it’s a blank slate. At times it gets overwhelming because I have a hard time visualizing what my garden could look like. You are helping me see what could be possible. I live in SoCal, zone b and I watch your channel everyday….your videos are helping me see what is possible in my zone. The only difference here is I have to deal with a slope in my backyard, it’s challenging but we have managed to plant several strawberry trees and various fruit trees….still have a lot of space to cover, but just the little bit we’ve done already has added so much beautiful life to the backyard…I love my new trees and I can tell they love their new home. They are beautiful!! Love, love , love, your channel. Thanks so much for sharing so much great information. Keep em coming!! Give Monty a big hug for me!!❤
My husband made fig chutney. Was lovely.
Janey .. do you have any apple trees ? Do they do well in your area/zone ? 🍎
You have a beautiful home and a gorgeous looking garden, everyday better than before! You go GIRL 🎉you have great taste and ideas 💡 keep doing you! I love watching you every single day. And keep learning and doing in my own garden. Thank you 😊
