Thank you for the tutorials that you have in TH-cam about MAYA. Those videos are really helpfull specially for me who i'm studing architecture and I really like to use Maya for my projects and experimentations in design. Keep going! Greetings from a salvadorean student in Greece.
At first according to some friends, I thought ncloth sounded difficult and confusing. Now after seeing this very straightforward concise tutorial, I can finish the animation with my team members. =) Thank you for this very helpful video.
cool tutorial! I love the sitting-in-next-to-you feeling cause of the nice editing between the camera and screen capturing. This is the kind of stuff newbies should see and learn from in stead of the making-screen-capture-and-talking-through-the-notepad kinda videos! :D Slight offset between the screen capture and commenting on one place but nothing major :)
Awesome tutorial ! Thank you for taking the time to do it in slow motion so a newb like me could keep up :) Looking forward to your next tutorials . I would love to see one on skirts for women 3d models and jackets for females 3d models.Keep up the awesome work !
Great tutorial mate, really like the fact that we can see who's behind the tutorial! My flag looks cool and all, but how about making a realistic shading and texturing? All the attributes makes me confused, would appreciate if you could make a tutorial with cloth shading and even on more materials.
Will you be able to tell me how I can skin a character in Autodesk Maya using nCloth? I want the skin to have a kind of a fluid type effect when expressions are made! I found the Advanced Skeleton pretty much use this feature. I only ask how to use this ncloth skin bind thing without the use of any external plugins. Many thanks for the tutorials.
This is awesome! :) I wanted to ask, Ive played with ncloth before but I'm working on a group animation and i need to animate a monster under a blanket, i need to simulate the blanket in several shots and also have him clench it etc. How would you go about doing that? Is blend shapes a good option or should i consider rigging the blanket?
Hey cool tutorial I recently started a games design course and I've been trying to learn the basics of Maya, Im having a problem with nCloth where when it sits on say a table areas of the cloth would turn black, anyway to fix this? Thanks
hi. I just watched your video and wondered about something... I am trying to make a coke bottle that shatters when dropped and can't seem to find any videos on how to do such a thing with maya 2016.. do you have any ideas... plus doing stuff with liquids would help too. thanks.
nevermind. Something was wrong with Maya.Closed it and reopened and started over and everything worked. Also might add to change playback to "play every frame" if it is set on "real time" playback
forget about the last problem that i had asked you about what is this warning it is showing // Warning: Nucleus evaluation skipped, frame change too large
I mean no offense, because its great that people make tutorials for other people to learn from, but I noticed the flag is blowing in the opposite direction the snow is blowing.
The constraint to the pole didn't work for me. What you are doing and what you are saying don't seem to match. I have been working in Maya for over15 years ( though just trying ncloth for the first time) so I am not a total noob as to the workings of Maya in general. Also I have customized my marking menus ages ago so I do not get the same on screen interface as you. I know it's me as it clearly works for you but am simply unable to constrain those vertices to the pole. Also, I have to up my frame range to like 2000 to get the full animation. Not sure where to adjust the time variable so it happens faster. Not giving up though
I'm having a problem (that I've heard others had but haven't had a solution). I made a cloth (my ncloth) on top of my bed object (collider), when I hit play the cloth hits the bed without folding around it. It basically hits it like a brick and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I apologize for the late response! - You may want to try to give your bed sheet some more polygons to play with. From your explanation, it sounds like your bed sheet is a single polygon. You may want to add some more to get that cloth some life!
man!! help... me..!! porque cuando selecciono el cilindro, no se pone el wireframe de color verde.... queda es igual que por seleccion por point. alguien podria ayudar!!!:....uso la vesion 2014 de maya .. gracias11
I 've been trying to create a quilt for a bed, never used before nCloth and you saved my life! Extremely grateful Steven!

nevermind. Something was wrong with Maya.Closed it and reopened and started over and everything worked. Also might add to change playback to "play every frame" if it is set on "real time" playback

for ncloth
Hi man, which mic did You use to record this?
How do you select the vertices, you didn't explain that very well...
This is great thanks, but when I add ncloth to one of my objects, the faces "break" and fall apart as it falls down. Does anyone know why that is?
Stylish hair dude!
It's like mine but my hair is dark.
+Jon Duke thanks dude!!

In the prefrences go to the time slider option and change it to play every frame. That may be your problem.
