  • This is a photoelectric (faster at detecting smoldering smokey fires) stand-alone (battery operated, not hardwired) smoke alarm with a vocal feature. I recommend this alarm to anyone who has kids. Watch the video to learn/see more.

    When we moved into our house, they had these smoke alarms but they were removed and we now have an interconnected system. Nice video!

    That is so awesome! That would be great for me as I get flustered an emergency sometimes. Not necessarily scared as much as OMG I need to get out, so having a recording especially when I’m asleep would be helpful

    One time I was sleeping deep I my bed and then my dad suddenly came in and told me that the smoke alarm was going off but I didn't wake up at all. This basically proves that children won't wake up to the sound of a smoke alarm at all instead adults are most likely too because their brain is much older to respond to high frequency sounds alot better than kids do. Also the smoke alarm that I had was a Nest Protect but we took it down and we replaced it with a SignalOne Vocal smoke alarm untill we have a low frequency smoke alarm. Also we said that low frequency smoke alarms are also capable of walking up our grandparents too because they visit us sometimes so we need them to be more safe.
    This also means that there should be low frequency (520 Hz) smoke alarms that are capable of waking up children and adults alot faster than a traditional high frequency smoke alarm because there fail to wake up children and elderly adults which is why I say low frequency smoke alarms are the #1 way to wake anyone up.

    Just tell me, why don't all smoke alarms have a Drill Mode? I would've thought that with Nest they would incorporate that by now.

    • @TheCarson116
      @TheCarson116 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Drill Mode" is basically the same thing as testing the detector with the test button: OneSignal just labeled the one on the KidSmart "DRILL" for some reason.

    • @luigikoopa8771

      You can record it as part of the voice message

    • @TheCarson116
      @TheCarson116 ปีที่แล้ว

      Old comment I know but it was likely put into production before studies showed that 520hz was the best pitch for waking sleeping individuals (even now though smoke detectors _still_ don't have 520hz horns for whatever reason).

  • @tornadochasingsiege

    What I would do is make a commercial fire alarm system in the house then put a few extra horns in the kid's rooms
    It may be harder, but it is more efficient because commercial alarms have strobes and extremely loud horns so it would wake up someone faster than a smoke alarm

    • @DanTDMJace

      Technichally, a low frequency sounder would be better for any sleeping area.

      No, but from what I can tell OneSignal, the manufacturer, has seemingly been out of business for years (apparently since 2013, & thus the KidSmart has been out of production since then as a result).
