Ingredients
Hybrid Tomatoes : Local Tomatoes - 2:1 (around 1.8kg)
Beetroot - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Salt - 2 tsp
Citric acid - 1 tsp

I thought this was a great recipe if you're making a big batch. I only needed enough for 2 tbsp lol so I left the "scum". I seasoned it with a pinch of garlic salt and onion powder to make lasagne. It was delicious by itself, thank you!

This is a really good recipe. How long can this purée last without the addition of citric acid? As tomatoes are acidic, citric acid would make it even more acidic...what can be used instead?

Adding whole carrots to the tomatoes while cooking (remove before pureeing) add a sweetness.

The citric acid acts as a preservative and should not be omitted .

I am making this from last more than 10 years using only local tomatoes when it is very economical .Simply crush all the tomatoes in mixer and boil till it reduces to half and freeze them it can be stored for full year with no preservatives.season is coming for cheap and best tomatoes I start to use this puree in july when tomatoes are very expensive. And it tastes 100 percent natural 😍
Water add krns hai boil krte time... Ya grind krke tomatoes direct cook krna hai?

Please dont use aluminium vessel as tomato (any other citric veggies) will react with it

Yaman, post storage of purée - can the bottle be opened like every day and we can consume little - or once opened we have to consume it within a time frame ?

👌simple tomato puree method, citric acid is a preserving agent yet can u suggest alternate material for citric acid chef
You can use vinegar instead. 1/4 cup vinegar = 1 tsp citric acid :)

Hello, adding the tomato skin can leave a few chunks here and there in the puree. You can add the skin as well, personally I prefer it without the skin. 👍
