In this video I show you how to fix the dull sound in Apple earbuds and Apple AirPods.
Over time your Apple earbuds/Airpods get wax, sweat, and dust stuck in their grill. That leads to the Apple earbud/Apple AirPod sound being dull, quiet, and muffled. An easy way to tell if this is occurring is to see if the smaller speaker hole in the Apple earbud/ AirPod is louder and clearer. If it is it’s a good sign of this issue.
You will be amazed at how much better your headphones will sound. The sound will be clearer, louder, and sharper.

How to fix the sound in all iPhone headphones HD version
-Makes your headphones louder
-Works for Apple AirPods, Apple Earbuds, and other headphones.
-Makes the bass deeper
-Restore volume levels
This will not fix loose wires or sound that cuts out. It will fix many issues with headphones, earbuds, and AirPods that have poor sound.

i did this, unfortunately i bent the grill beyond repair, but now my earbuds work like new. Thanks! is there anything i should do to replace the grill or prevent dirt from getting into the earbuds?
KrazeeComedy you can buy metal mesh and cut a piece out and replace it.
Instead of doing that dirt and ear wax will very verg rarely get dirt or earwax in there

I’ve been going around videos to see how I can fix it in an easy way, at first I had problems with taking out the grill, I broke it a bit, but it came out together with the mesh, because I’m too lazy and don’t have time for this sort of things, I just put the grill back without the mesh and it immediately worked perfectly!

At first, I thought it was a joke. Then I tried it, (I did switch out the fire step and instead used a toothbrush and hydrogen peroxide) and HOLY CRUD, these earbuds have NEVER sounded this good! Thanks you sir, I an forever in your debt.
I’m glad it worked for you. I would be careful with the toothbrush though. It can actually push some of that gunk inside the grill. You cant fix it. Apple makes them DELIBERATELY weak so you are forced to buy new ones or the earpods.. See they changed the desin of the plug from iphone 5 onwards, now you can't even use other random headphones from other makers.

tried this out today, and my earbuds sound great again! I ran the screens under water to flush out the wax before drying them and putting them back in the earbud casing. Thank you 👍

SpectacleProductions just make sure you clean it ever so often, as the grill keeps a majority of ear wax out.

2020 followed the steps. Didn’t take the grill out but I used an old toothbrush to brush it and yes it worked.
Yeah but if you don’t take the grill out where do you think that stuff is going? It gets pushed through the grill and will eventually build up.
Charles Yamabe I cleaned it before hand with peroxide and while brushing was holding it upside down. Hope this helps

This made a huge difference. Now my earbuds are louder at 10% computer volume than they used to be at 30%. I did not realize how bad the volume loss was because of how gradually it happened until I noticed that they were quieter than my earmuffs despite it being the other way around when I got them.

Charles Yamabe... yeah, definitely. People might not like the way they sound, $40 at Best Buy new, but still do well. I have yet to buy them, but silicon gels that fit over them and make a better fit, keep the wax and crap out.

I don't have a needle so I'm trying to use a thumb tack instead. A girl I've dated off and on have me these ear buds (exact ones in this video) almost 2 years ago and they only just gave me an issue today. I went to wipe them out but apparently I fucked up because after I did the right bud started being a dick lol. But, while I appreciate how you might not be fond of them, theyve given me far more mileage than I ever expected! I've bought several for typically $15 or less that would last a maximum of 2 months before one ear shorts out completely, but these that came with an old IPhone she bought a few years back somehow proved the more quality product. I actually have a great set of Sony Bluetooth earbuds, but unfortunately they aren't compatible with my Xbox One S so hopefully I'm capable of effectively putting your tutorial here into practice. 😅. If not I suppose I'll finally have to his these farewell and buy some new ones, but either way I appreciate you posting this!!

Thank you, after going thru two pairs in 6 months I decided to search how to fix them and found a few others prior to yours which demonstrated how to wipe them off with a Q-tip... Didn't work. Then came across yours, tried it and it worked! Also took me under 10mins too so idk who told you it's complicated but I highly disagree! Thanks for saving me $$$

I just did this but the sticky part under the grill came out both times and the grill didn’t go back in correctly but whatever at least they work better lol
Ashlyn Desco the sticky part will go back in and stick again. If it doesn’t on the first try... Just rinse it off lightly then let it dry and restick it. The grill can be tricky for some. With a little patience you can get it back together.

Are the grills necessary?
Yes
For me it wasn’t any gunk in the grill, there was a little mesh paper inside the earbud over the sound thing and I shifted it. The sound came out perfectly
Wavy_Nick yeah they both get clogged. It’s best to put them back after cleaning to avoid the gunk going inside the headphone.

you can remove the grill from inside without damaging it, just separate the cover with a razor blade, surgeon skills and want to save bucks, then seal it again with silicone.
