I am still enjoying these, Tom! And I especially enjoyed that joke about the turrets being slightly more psychopathic scutters. The "slightly" bit is on point.
There is so much more to this game than I thought there was going to be. Every episode is a new fun surprise
Having played the game, it really is a pleasant surprise for it's price and small team.
Having just 100%'d last night, it took me sixty hours. Without 100%ing it, I think it would have been about fifty. The game is massive for what it is.
So moral of this story: if you hear a cry for help from a place filling it with TOXIC GAS may not be a good first reaction.

I'm curious to see if Tom ever figures out he actually found the lumber mill ages ago, even had a message pop up on his screen for several seconds, and just totally ignored it.
Well, they highlighted it during editing, so he knows by now.
I like how Tom has turned himself into a roving tower defense game.

Did you know that while the katana has bad base damage, the do have a damage multiplier vs monsters? Meaning it is comparable to the bat or axe but has multi-hit
the multiplier isn't really enough until the base damage is maxed out. i actually didn't use the katana until the very last fight. of course, with the way tom just keeps drawing hordes to himself by running past them instead of fighting them one at a time, he might actually get some benefit from the katana combined with his high knockback.
The multi hit is great if you keep drawing hordes to yourself, but the axe and hammer can one shot a lot of lower level ex-humans, and even one shot a lot of the tougher ex-humans if you do a power sneak attack. I just used the axe and hammer for most fights, and the hammers stun is great if you have any damage reflect on as that can also trigger it .
@@Razzeil Damage reflect and thrown weapons as well. The sledgehammer is kind of OP, when used with triple daggers. Wouldn't be surprised if the stun worked with even more damage sources.
I use katana for every fight, dmg is almost as high as the other tools but has longer range, is faster to swing and the multihit on top. I see no reason to use anything else.
With both fully upgraded, my axe does 102 damage currently and the Katana does 99 after the multiplier. Pretty close, actually.
Tom, you can switch outfits anywhere as well. Aside from one that gives you extra slots anyway. Don't do a me and only figure it out 55 hours into the game, please ( right before I 100%ed it too :< ).

Tom finding ways to solve all combat challenges with turrets is very funny and very Tom. If it's possible in the game then it's a legit strat!

Tom continually tries to run away from dogs that are always going to be faster than him.
It's a Tom trait, he runs when he should fight and fights when he should run
I can't remember if he has the outfit that increases his run speed. Or was that the safari one he's already wearing and still can't outrun?
From my experience dogs are the easiest unit in the game, the hit box for their bite is super small and if you just move to the left or right it misses you

Thanks for bringing this game to my attention Tom. It devoured 40 hours of my life, and it was super fun the whole way through!

i love this playthrough. seeing how you do it different to me and how the experience is changed going to different areas first. also knowing i wasnt the only person to cheese whith guns for bosses

"Five guns is better than two guns". Spilling truths like it's nobody's business.
It's funny he avoids fighting so that he won't die, but if he just killed things more often he'd not only level up faster but also avoid death more often. I do enjoy watching Tom play though, it's a sense of accomplishment when he solves problems.
This game with co-op would be so much fun

Bought this off the back of these videos, and i didn't fight the old loyal guard 'honestly' either. Dropped a load of landmines at the foot of the stairs as you enter the arena and baited him into them all.
Imagine the day when Tom actually ate enough food that he didn’t just instantly die the second a he got hit by a zombie..... that’d be the day.

So, like, if Abi were to say "yay, we found all the gas masks and took them all" then that's still no gas masks for you.
Therefore, you actually want her to say "damn, still can't find the gas masks but I'm sure they're around here somewhere" and then you find them.
Edit: Or, indeed, she just decides to give you the recipe for it at the end, with no real "lore" explanation for it but that you did the quest.

bandages are much better than pills. if the pills ACTUALLY let you keep moving while downing them, they would be worth it, but since for both you have to stop moving, the bandages are better because they give you more hitpoints.

The way I did most the bosses was land mine and knife spam so I think cheesing it seems to be the play
For the Solaris robot I just stood by its left leg and hit it with a hammer. It couldn't aim down low enough to hit me with its guns, but wouldn't use any toher attack either.

Don't forget to switch out the piece of metal... it's... well kinda crap as you figured out. Also personally, baseball card is kinda meh.
You also probably only need one more trinket for the 5th slot, you can click it and it'll tell you.
100% recommend the poison area across the bridge first, after that progress however cus... it's kinda all over the place after that but yeah... the item you get across the bridge, 100% worth going for first.
I can't place turrents in his area :(
