Hello everyone and welcome back to The Beatles Forever. A viewer wanted a video made about John Lennon and his diets. It was a good idea and I decided to do it.
He was so gorgeous up to 1966. By 1980 he looked absolutley dreadful and I belive he spent most of the househusband years battling drug addiction and depression.
According to May Pang (who should know), John had a hearty appetite. I assume that he dieted at different times in his life to get ready for promotions. After all look at all the rockers such as Rod Stewart, Jagger, Ron Wood, and loads more. Ringo, Paul and George were all would you could say rail thin. I think John has enough labels, and we should let this one rest.
He was on that diet even before he met Yoko. I know you feel the need to hate on her but his dieting started around 1966 after his “fat Elvis” period. He was quite thin by 1967 and in 1968 he was on a vegetarian diet due to being heavily involved with the Maharishi’s teachings and reading about the Krishna’s. He was always very thin after 1966.
@@anthonylakich1727 Heroin doesn't make you thin. It's a heroin addict's lifestyle that makes them thin ie spending all their money on gear instead of food. After John's "fat Elvis" period he always wanted to be slim, so basically he was. But one should also remember slim or skinny was the norm in Britain up until very recently.
@@staceykeeley4219 No. Heroin suppresses appetite, causes the pituitary gland to stop working properly, and makes users nauseas, all three of which lead to people not wanting to eat, and all three of which happen regardless of whether someone is a broke junkie, or a famous, wealthy musician. Correlation does not imply causation. Sure, poor junkies don't eat, but it's not because they're broke, it's because they don't feel like eating. If they had all the money in the world - like John Lennon - they still wouldn't want to eat...
@@philsurtees That's not been my experience with the drug. It made me nauseous yes but I ate like a pig when the nausea subsided. Plus at that time in my life I was surrounded by users and/or addicts. Yes most of them were slim people but many were not. Although I do have to say that the overweight ones were generally women. I can only go by my own experience and that of the people around me.
I once read that when he moved to New York, he was introduced to ice cream, which caused him to gain several inches around his waist. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the source of this information.

...well, not *exactly* Paul
Sounds like Yoko controlled his diet just like everything else. He looks half dead on the macrobiotic diet that she put him on.

Yoko killed John.I hate her very much.
I have a feeling he actually did have a eating disorder John was in my opinion a mistreated and misunderstood character of this world
No he Did "H" from 1967 to 1970 that was his big diet secert ;)
Also "Y"

John is the best
I enjoy your videos. You have such a relaxed energy and they are fun to listen to. I also appreciate the amount of research you do.
I remember seeing A picture In A Newspaper When John got His Green Card & He Was So Thin I Thought He Had Cancer
He was understandably under alot of stress at the time
😥😥😥 yes. Heroin.
Very interesting video.
O dear, that naughty Yoko.
Yoko? He had always been really insecure so it was easy for him to get a bad body image when he was called the fat Beatle.
My friend was at the mortuary. He was a shade under 5’11 132 lbs
Thank you for your comment
Thanks❤️
thats pretty emaciated.. who knows, another 50 lbs he mightve survived.
Very Good Job!! 👍
Thank you very much
❤
From what i understand his last meal was a corned beef sammich. So much for brown rice.
I think you mean macrobiotic not microbiotic.
"Macro"biotic diet, not "Micro"biotic. Great videos.

Thank you for mentioning that. I didn't hear about that, but I can see how that could happen

Paul was good appareance
