I plan on using the razor method, carefully, as my hair grows out, to guide the top, sides, and fringe to perfection. The back is already getting there. Then, Splat Midnight Amber color. Old retired former mullet queen (hairdresser)of the early 80's, chiming in! Looking for inspiration, you jumped out at me. Was this in anyway inspired by David Bowie's doo in Labyrinth? While his was a really hot mess ( I was so disappointed to learn it was a wig, lol), he wore it well. You both have the facial structure for it! I'm a student of the Rusk era, kill the curl, and 3 different texturizing scissors. Scissor cutting, mostly vertical, then thinners/notchers, etc.. Never got proficient w/a razor. As I cut my own hair, hoping to speed up the process, brand new razors await, wish me luck, and thanks for the push I needed! P.S. I would like to see it blown out and straight up, requiring a bit more texture on top. Head upside down and by hand. "Wet toe in a hot socket" (Phyllis Diller) look, or 80's/90's punk rock.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of mullets. But what can I say, you look great with it. Then again I think you would probably look great with any other haircut too, but that mullet looks absolutely stylish on you. Also, wow, you're so confident with the razor. I've been cutting my hair since forever, but I always do it with scissors, as I don't trust myself with that sharp blade in my hair trying to work out directions in the mirror (when I think of it, scissors can go really wrong too😁)
The rainbow side needs a bit more layering but other than that it honestly looks perfect and I’m only being overly observant. I wish I could cut my own hair like this
I actually use a curl cleaner instead of a shampoo, my hair needs moisture bc its bleached so that really helps. I use the hydrating curl cleanser by boucleme, i may do a video on hair care since a few people have asked xx

Why is it that as an old millennial, my first thought is “what kind of music does this person listen to?” Were the millennials the last generation to fully connect “alternative” looks to musical movements? It was trailing off when I was a kid, but style now feels totally disconnected from music, and people and musicians just wear whatever they like. Maybe that’s a weird conclusion and I’m just newly old and don’t understand the younger music scene for the first time. 😂
