the techniques with the razor to break it up more. 👌 The elevation and the finger direction and cutting behind the fingers; theres so much great information. What a great video.♡
LOVE LOVE LOVE ... I cut hair for over 30 years and this was my favorite cut to give to people. But even more so, it's always been my favorite cut to wear. I have baby fine hair and it's always worked well for my own hairstyle. BEST demonstration ever. Thanks for sharing. I will be cutting my own again tomorrow, like I've done for years. Have never been able to find a stylist near me that can cut like this... and cut with a razor. So I've cut my own hair for years and years since I moved from California to Kentucky. Thanks for the inspiration!
In rewatching this I can't help but love your articulation & your procedure & how & why you cut the hair in the manner you do everything is sensible & you don't complicate things at all. Good job as always I enjoy your videos very much as I'm sure everyone else as well you're an awesome teacher by the way and easy on the eyes my handsome friend
Super clear! And so incredibly timely. Of COURSE the mullet. So glad you’re doing these. Remembering the love of hair. And you in Thailand single handedly doing a hair show…still the stuff of legends. -LindaMarie
Linda I appreciate your comment more than you know! I have not thought about that show in such a long time. I still love what I do and sharing what works for me. Be well my friend. I have an amazing styling video on the springboard itching to be released so please subscribe and stay tuned!
Love the trick w/twisting hair away from face and tapping the hair w/razor. I would do that a lot on top of a short pixie but never did on side panels. Thanks👍
I use this technique all throughout this cut and many others. On my channel I have a cut called The Curly Shag and I demonstrate the same technique with scissors. Check it out and please subscribe and share! Be well. I have a new styling video on longer hair dropping in a week
Lana thank you for your comment. I truly appreciate you! Glad you are watching. Please do whatever you can to share and subscribe. I have an incredible consumer styling video coming out for mid length to longer hair that you will love. Take care!
i cut my hair in the long version of it. I have so much hair and i wanted something shorter but maintain length that i grew over the year and i can style it more easily on a daily basis. I am a mom and a house wife and i help my husband in his company and i have a dog that needs his 3 hour walk. So i am on the go all days of the weak. So my washes twice a week are easily then with my long hair.
Absolutely stunning ❤thank you for detailed &holistic, calm process video. Also adore your own hairstyle. Just had bad haircut experience and looking how to “fix” the wrong feeling. This video gives a very good guide. I am a hairstylist myself, even ready to try this on my own. Pity can’t go to you salon , living in far north of Europe. Thank you !
Always like the way you explain layers and texture, very clear. Razor blades cutting had been popular in China around 2 decades ago but soon out of fashion as it was believed damaging to hair. I wondered if it was once popular in the UK too. We didn't hold blade like you do :). Anyway, it is another lovely style and thanks for sharing.
I have always liked a razor cut on Asian hair when it is a slick straight texture naturally. Once you lighten or perm hair it is compromized. Fresh blade replacements and a little oil on the hair can help reduce damage. But think about it, If everybody stopped doing color because it damages the hair nobody would color the hair. also a razor gives the hair body and movement that many people need. Training for Haircutters with the razor is important. Many cutters just dont know all the detailing that goes into a great razor cut. Thanks for your comment. I have a new styling video about to drop. Stay tuned!
Thank you Allison. Had a great time with this one! It’s pretty packed full of information and techniques. It was difficult keeping it under 15 minutes. Thanks for always commenting. I would be grateful if you share it!
Corinna I never like to go all the way back. I like to move ideas and inspiration from the past to the present or future. I have cut both and been there at the time of the shag and the mullet and they were very similar at times. So call it what you want!
A mullet is not a shag is not a wolf not. That’s really a rockstar shag, a true mullet is very short and off the ears up top and definitely longer in the back. A true mullet is well, ugly😅.
What an inspiration! And such great delivery, short, informative & on point.
Glad you enjoyed it!

What brand of feather razor are you using? Would love to know. Great job
It is a Feather blade. I bought it maybe 15 years ag. it is metal and rubber but I do not see it on their website.
Gorgeous ❤

I have this hairstyle and it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to style for me but i think it's because of my hair type. It has way too much volume 😭
Maybe ask your stylist to give you a bit deeper texturizing to lighten the weight
I love the cut but I'm afraid I don't have enough hair to pull it off. I have fine thin hair that seems to have a mind of it's own.
When the hair is fine, then the techniques change to accommodate the hair texture. There’s a way to achieve it Oscar Stylist. And please subscribe.
no hair cutters here do razor cuts and they barely do point cut
😍👌
Muy jovial el corte
Se puede modificar para todas las edades.
Not the mullet I knew in the 70s and 80s. This is a shag.
Corinna I never like to go all the way back. I like to move ideas and inspiration from the past to the present or future. I have cut both and been there at the time of the shag and the mullet and they were very similar at times. So call it what you want!
