What a beautiful ship!!! I like at the beginning you get to watch safety video! The scenery is so beautiful!!!! Love the food stations and although I’m not gluten free, I live the thoughtfulness of labeling the areas and many choices with staff that seem to know what’s available too! I think I saw another one of my favorite TH-cam Vloggers, MH Family Aventures!!! May have been others, but I’m sure you’ll had a great time! I like that luggage too, was it cranberry or red? Thanks for sharing 🛳️🛳️
Belinda, yes, this ship was absolutely beautiful! I want to sail again because 3 days was not enough to really experience the ship. Yes, RacQuelle was onboard as well! The luggage (it's a 3-piece set) was a gift from my mother. I would say it's cranberry. I love it and get compliments on it all the time! Thank you!
Excellent tour! Watching the safety video before boarding is NEXT LEVEL. And the food! Wowww..they have an entire Gluten free section! Do you remember seeing any dairy free ice cream?😋
Ah....I don't remember seeing any dairy free ice cream advertised, but that doesn't mean they don't have it. I'll be sure to start asking about that on my cruises.
Yesssss. The Ascent. WOW. You doing a quick tour. Thanks. Watching and enjoying 🤗. Omg. The pool looks so long. Gelato and treats 😋. Gluten free cakes. Nice. That cheese is calling me. Their buffet really looks amazing. Love Indian food. Oh. A whole gluten free section. Cool 😎. Gluten free toaster? Wow. Amazing vid Cheryl. Oh wow. The restaurants are meal coordinated. Italian. French. The martini bar would be my spot. Oh no. Rain 🌧️ ☔️. I see the solo meetups have been common. That’s great. The Magic carpet is bigger than I expected. Thanks so much. 🤗
Yes, I had no plans of doing a "tour" on day one but I was just so excited! LOL. The buffet was more than wonderful. And yes, they REALLY catered to gluten free options. I could have hung out at the Martini Bar the entire cruise...lol. Yes, it's great to see any attempt the cruise lines make at catering to solo cruisers. Thank you so much, Cydney!!!
Hi, Cheryl. We met on the MSC Magnifica one morning in November. I have been following you ever since. I did the Celebrity Ascent during the New Year’s Eve celebration, as a solo. Beautiful room, beautiful time, nice people, and great/high tech entertainment. And the best food on a buffet I ever tasted.
Thank you so much for following!!! Yes, the Ascent was awesome and I agree with everything you said about it. I want to go again for a longer cruise to be able to enjoy more of it. Good to hear that you enjoyed it as much as I did! Thank you so much for watching!
I noticed that a while ago and have been talking about it. At one time, I even saw their solo cabins priced higher in each category. Then I’ve seen them “normally” priced. Their prices move a lot. The news about their solo pricing doesn’t surprise or deter me. I’ve learn to use the same formula: Determine my price range and find a cruise line/ship/cabin that’s in that range. I love Celebrity but if I don’t want to pay the price they’re offering, I’m moving on.
@@SIGCruiser OK. The Summit changed a lot from when it was new. I spent a day aboard the Millennium and sailed the Constellation both when they were new. They only had one specialty dining room and a lot of areas that are on the ship are different now. I'd say the ship was fancier than it is now, like the casino and the main dining room. But it's better now because it has more dining options and an improved Martini Bar, a popular area on the ship. Edge and Summit or Solstice class ships are very different. I go back to Celebrity from the 1990s with the Zenith and Horizon. Loved the Century ships that followed them. There was this continuity about them up to the Solstice, a certain style. They'd take you back to Harlem or certain types of clubs of an earlier era in how they felt. The Summit has some of that in it. The Solstice ships do as well. On the Edge they went contemporary hotel so they're like a different ship to me. I'd pass on them but the goodness of them is that they're of course up to date and have more tech. I don't feel the suite passenger privilege thing that's designed into them though. I like all passengers having access to most areas. Also, I just like more club like venues on ships. The Edge ships have these big open vertical spaces that are nice, but they don't have the smaller ones. Their strength is the food choices. But who you meet and interacting with crew ultimately makes the experience and for solo cruisers, the line needs to help with the mingling and that applies to all ships. Good to see they're doing that. Now, they just need to charge a fair price for solos. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I feel like I only saw you briefly on day 1 so I was excited to see what you got into! Wow those seats on the lifeboat look nice! And I love how the magic carpet looks at night, so pretty! Great video 😊.
The Cafe Al Bacio is a nice place. My wife and I enjoyed going there. I usually take the stairs myself. Exception, going many decks. Not a fan of Cesare's Salad. My wife used to like it a lot. Now you must be in heaven! Now the hard part, finding a seat in the restaurant. Tuscan is a specialty restaurant. My wife didn't like it. So, as a solo traveler how did Celebrity Cruise Line treat you? During this time if my luggage made it to the stateroom, like to put it in drawers and on hangers. I went to the blu restaurant once. They had a wine tasting there.
I agree about the elevators. Tuscan on this ship was actually one of four complimentary restaurants. I did book it as a specialty restaurant on the Summit though. I thought they treated solos well with the hosted meetup and dinner. I haven’t yet come across another cruise line that does that.
Most cruise lines have a solo supplement, although Celebrity seems to be going above that with their double occupancy cabin. And it seems like their solo cabins are now what you would have paid at double occupancy. I always say to decide how much you want to pay, then find a cruise that fits that range, regardless of how they do the pricing. Unfortunately, there are only a few cruise lines with no solo supplement and if you find those, you have to research to see if you think you would enjoy the ship/cruise. I understand what you mean.
I'll be honest with you...I'm not crazy about Icon going in. I now feel like I got caught up in the hype. I'm probably the only one who saw her coming in and thought she reminded me of an enclosed capsule with no side decks. I love cruising for the ocean and the smaller ships have lots of low-key decks where you can enjoy the ocean in peace. Icon is beautiful and has lots of stuff that I'm not interested in...lol
Hmmm…i really did not get the feel of a mall at all on this ship. Not even in their retail district. Now yes, the doors were close together. It wasn’t an issue for me. I never even saw or heard my neighbors. I enjoyed the cabin. 😊
Many of the newer classes of ships have this neutral base with somewhat muted colors and the cabins do the same thing. They use much lighter woods and cabinetry. Inside, the ship has a simpler approach but at the same time a bit glitzy compared to the previous class. Those can be glam but use darker woods and have a different approach to the interior.

I hope you go on a cruise soon, Riley!
🤯🤯🤯 i strive to cruise like u "when i grow up" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 have a gr8 time and plz continue to share
Awwwww! And I will share as long as you're interested and you want me to. Thank you!!!
Really cool art room.
There was art all over this ship! Everywhere. Very cool and very nice! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the boarding day walkthrough! Looking forward to experiencing Celebrity!
Yay! Had no plans for a boarding day ship tour. I was just too excited and got carried away...lol!

Oh it truly was!!!!
Such a pretty ship 😅 But unfortunately I’ve heard Celebrity is raising their solo traveler fees. Have you heard the rumor?

@@SIGCruiser Good strategy 👍🏽
Good to hear they take care of solo cruisers. Have you sailed this line before on a non-Edge class ship?
Yes, I sailed the Summit earlier in 2023. Loved it!

I was wondering what I was doing too! 😂 I found out while editing. 😂
Nice! I can't wait to get on the Celebrity Ascent, hopefully this year😊 Great video!
Yes, I want to go again on a longer sailing. Three days was not enough. You will love it!
You go girl with your cart wheels!!!! 🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️(I saw them in your introduction) 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ha! That was fun! Thank you, Emily!
I am definitely going to look into booking a cruise on this ship or one of the other Celebrity ships. I love the vibe
Yes….LOVED the vibe!!!! Upscale, laid back, relaxing…. You will love it!
Wow beautiful ship, they get a okay from me😊. Thanks for sharing .
Yes! They got an okay from me too! LOL. This was a beautiful ship. I couldn't stop saying it. LOL Thank you so much for watching, Deb!

I pray you have beautiful memories of your time on Celebrity, Harlan!

Never been on Celebrity. Maybe one day.
I hope you do. I enjoyed their smaller ship, the Summit, as well!
I think I prefer smaller. I think Icon of the Seas would give me anxiety. Too much stuff. 😀@@SIGCruiser

Exactly. Looks beautiful at night all lit up though.@@SIGCruiser
This ship looks like you are inside a mall, Lol!! 😂 Their cabin doors are like NCL. Very close together, not a fan of that. 🤷🏾♀️
