Garage sales are all a gamble, the seller said "I don't know if they work". if I can't make my money back at a minimum when some items or console is broken I always pass
@88TurboBird Seller needs to know what there selling. This guy knew what he had and didn’t take the offer. Some people don’t know exactly what they have and when people lowball them they take advantage. That’s probably what people have a problem with. Rick bought a whole game store, and makes money off the videos so he could have made a stronger offer.

You are generally fair with negotiating but $50 was insanely low for that bundle.. The "risk" is low assuming you check condition of the disks

Yeah, it was very clear that $50 was an obvious low ball, unreasonable offer. You can do a low offer, but this was obviously way under value for what was there. Felt kind of scummy to offer only $50.

Our local Goodwill has everything typically priced at 5.99 that’s video game related. their record albums used to be $1.99 each and recently went up to $4.99. their pricing is getting to be completely ludicrous. They were trying to get $100 for a system complete in the box. We’ve talked to them to ask where they come up with some of the prices but they don’t seem to have an answer LOL

Goodwill and army both told me that because of people online posting video 2-3 years ago, the store leaders decided to price to eBay/online prices. I had one that had a regular Nintendo 64 with no cables nor controller, with two games for 120 bucks…it’s dumb…they will continue to say they had no hand 🤚 in this but it’s clearly not the case. TH-camrs posting videos showing value made that change for us…people will argue and say I’m wrong but I heard it out not only one thrift store, but multiple. I am in southern California where everyone and their mom sells video games now. I have this old lady named miss Miller who is in her 50s/60s who is my competition at yard sales now…she even told me she goes where the money is…

They are raising prices because of videos like this and the "flippers" market becoming popular.. the whole point of goodwill was to give struggling families a chance at some semblance of comfort or modernism..
Damn, that Billy and Mandy DVD is quite a find. I think I came across that over 11 years ago at a bookstore and I never got it. One of my biggest regrets to this day.
Wonder if the PAL-version of that DVD is worth anything. I have that somewhere...

I'm so envious of your Goodwill's Rick. Mine in Vegas do not carry video games at all, they're all sold at Goodwill's online store. That makes hunting... a smidge harder.

Rick is a RE SELLER you cant be mad at his offers. I went to a garage sale yesterday bought vintage star wars stuff for $1. I posted items on marketplace after doing the research and the lady i bought it from was pissed. I asked her why everything was $1, she replied "we need to make room. She knew she couldve got more but CHOSE to keep it all for $1

Happened to me a couple years ago at a yard sale! the lady had one of those case with 2 DS consoles in it, bought it for 40$ Once home I'm taking the consoles out of the case and underneath was a compartment with around 40 DS/GBA games with Pokémon and Mario stuff I was stoked! those are the best finds!

Hoping and praying to might be lucky enough to WIN the n64 collection! RetroRick has completely stirred up the nostalgia bug in me and has me on the hunt for collecting once again! Sadly where I’m from there just aren’t flea markets like there are where he’s at which is a crazy bummer! Imma do my best with what I got tho.

Just a suggestion, I would actually like to see the process of you cleaning and labeling each cartridges once you have a stack of them, on a time-lapse obviously. Might make some cool variation in the videos.

Quite a few sleeper hits on the Wii and DS systems, very obscure looking games that are worth money. Those were great finds for sure.
Going to be honest building a collection like this isnt a fun hobby how is it healthy to try to build alot of games when as I wonder I'm just here to play classics but the prices for old stuff is hella embarrassing for a game back then now so yeah that explains why people just emulate the systems

why does my goodwill look like someone backed up a dump truck unloaded it and sped off, and everyone you go to actually look some what decent. it would be a dark day in hell if they ever had a video game at mine, all we have is broken lamps and shit stained furniture
Good wills in my area won’t let people shop with any sort of bags except maybe a purse, because I been noticing that people be stealing the CDs or games from the cases. Lately I been seeing them seal off dvd sets for Tv Series with the price tag over the part that slides out, just to keep people from having sticky fingers. Can’t tell how many times I’ll find a cd of a popular 90’s band, and find the cd is missing and just left the case. I mean is it so hard to scrap 3 or 4 dollars for cd or dvd? Are people that cheap they have to steal from a goodwill.
Goodwill in my area is ALWAYS bare. Even in the higher class towns. Where are all you guys finding these Goodwill's?!?!

Everything where I live has been expensive second hand for years. The new games where cheaper than used normally at Goodwill, Salvation Army, GameStop, EB games, Game X change, and mom and pops stores, then youtubers happened now it is somehow worse. I still enjoy watching your channel so oh well.
LOL I wish everything at my local GW was $3! DVD sets are at least $7.37 and a few employees mark games at $6! The employees who have been around longer stick with the $3/$4 games which is a little nice. Lucky for me I'm in at a small thrift. They hold any game stuff for me and they're only $1 apiece. I usually end up paying them more so I don't feel guilty!

Wii guitars are a decent profit if you can find them dirt cheap. I have got lucky and picked up a few at goodwill for 6 dollars.

lego star wars the complete saga would be worth a tone but the new lego star wars game came out and has all 9 movies in it meaning it has long time for you to play with your kids than 6 movies
