    I love how you share your collection as not just things you have, but as stories and pieces of artistry and soul that mean something to you. I like how you explained that each Leonardo has its own soul. I just ordered my first Momento Zero. I don't want to get my hopes too, high, but it was my first "grail pen" because something just really struck me the first time I saw one.
    Very nice video.

      Hi Remy, thank you so much for your lovely words and comment :) I definitely feel deeply connected to each of them in different ways. Hence why I have so many! Which Leonardo Momento Zero did you get? :D Any pen can be a grail pen as that definition is different for each person, but a Leonardo is definitely a worthy grail! Is this a gold nib or a steel version? I'm waiting for the next perfect Leonardo to get an elastic EF gold nib with (perhaps a Grande or Grande 2.0 model since I like those shape more). Most of mine are Momento Zeroes with steel nibs. The feel of these Leonardo pens are like nothing I've ever felt before when I got my first one - it felt like glossy smooth marble in your hands. They do have a bit of weight to them (about 25ish grams). If you have any Leonardo questions, please don't hesitate to ask! :)

      @@KenchanKrafts I saw the Appelboom video about their pen making process and the care, attention, and hard work really blew my mind. Your collection of Leonardos (and in general) is really beautiful.
      I went with the Momento Zero with Horn resin and a 1.1mm stub. I almost went with the Pietra Marina color (having recently been drawn to brighter colors in general), but I saw the Horn color last minute and I think the black, brown, and greys reminded me of my home in the Mojave Desert and I had to go for it. I actually got interested in fountain pens because I got interested in calligraphy and tried a very cheap Speedball fountain pen calligraphy set that had stubs. I actually feel most comfortable writing with a stub out of any nib since I started with those, but I've only had really bad stub pens haha. I'm probably gonna get a spare broad nib and have it ground to a broad cursive smooth italic, if this pen works out upon arrival 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Thanks again for your input and work. I'll definitely be back in your comments soon! Haha

      Hi Clare! I know we both love Visconti! So happy knowing you almost got it! It’s like 400$ right now due to fpd but maybe the sales are over. It’s a beautiful pen that glows in the sunlight because of its translucency and it’s so magical to me! I love all my Italian pens, so you getting the mosaico is just as amazing! I’m looking at the baobab mosaico or sands! Those two are so gorgeous. I can’t wait to see all your pen hauls from The lovely Joost XD and your Hawaii Mosaico. Thanks so much for watching and commenting 😍🥰🥹

      Ooo, Santini. I think I've heard of them before and just looking at them now, they are absolutely gorgeous pens! Thanks for sharing about Santini, it's very nice to have a very unique writing experience through in-house nibs. I'll have to look into an affordable Santini for a first someday :)

    By the way, as no one has pointed it out, Aurora is the in-house nib producer in Italy along with Santini 😃
    So there are two producers.

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Tomas! John Toledo did make that point as well in the comments section a while back 😆 he has informed me well that Santini does their own nibs. I would love to get one of their pens someday, but since I have a rule about buying pens on sale or not buying pens full price, it'll be hard to fund one of Santinis beauties. Thank you so much for watching this video! I was trying a different style of cinematography with it lolol!!!

    I love Leonardo pens! My two favorite pens so far are the Foresta Umbra and Rangoli. As a Dantista, I couldn't resist the very Dantean symbolism and name of the Foresta Umbra, and the symbolism of the color scheme evoking the Sun and cosmos of the Rangoli (particularly speaking to Paradiso, but also the famous last line of the Commedia and how each of the three canticles ends with the word "stars"). I got one of the last few Foresta Umbra pens left, and chose the extra fine nib over the broad (the only remaining choices). It's filled with the Diamine ink Dark Forest for even more Dantean symbolism.

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for sharing your experiences and the connections you make with your lovely Leonardos! I love that so much! My only experience with Dante was back in high school when I read a book in English class with lots of symbolism around Dante and Hell XD but it stuck! It’s awesome you have both the two Leo’s that I have as well! My Rangoli definitely evokes all the astrological vibes! :) I recently just got an EF Leonardo nib and OMG I love it so much! So I think you made the right choice in going with EF over B. I don’t use my B nibs often.

    Visconti also produces the nibs in-house for a few years now

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s definitely true, their gold nibs are different now. No longer bock nibs. Leonardo is starting to do their own gold nibs as well in house. But the steel nibs are still jowos, which I really like that more of the Italian brands are starting to do this so they will all have very unique writing experiences!

    • @iscse
      @iscse 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KenchanKrafts, I knew Leonardo's gold nibs are also produced in collaboration with JoWo (there is nothing wrong, especially since the nibs are designed specifically for their pens); have they switched completely to in-house production?

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@iscse yes, Leonardo now does in house gold nibs! I have the red guilloche which writes quite different from the older Leonardo gold nibs I’ve had. I can’t wait for a new perfect Leonardo that speaks to me and get it with their new gold nib. I don’t write like the feel of the red guilloche Leonardo.

Your Italian pen collection has grown…I remember when you still told me you wanted the Visconti Bronze Age when I started my own journey this year…I’m branching out of my Viscontis for a bit and I have my first Montegrappa pen coming before Halloween 🤞 fingers crossed. That’s why I love Italian pens…all handcrafted!!! Great job! The collection gets more more beautiful! Thanks for sharing! P. S. Yes that Aurora pen looks more of something I would pick! Do you have a red or yellow pen? Them are some typical Italian colors. The Delta Dolcevita with that orange resin is synonymous with Italian penmanship. But is now probably considered muted compared to other resins out there.
