I'm glad you enjoyed the footage of the event! My camera is so old and bad but the place wasn't too well lit so the quality looked poor but it still captures the memory :) So I'm happy you appreciated that! I truly love Pelikan for being so engaging and generous with their fans. Free ink of the year is no joke - such a nice way to give back to their community! I hope you'll be able to attend one next year!

Oh no, Ursula. I'm glad you're doing OK, prayers to all those who were affected by Hurricane Helene. Let's hope next year's hub will not be interrupted by anything. I was once in your shoes having never tried a Pelikan but everyone around me talks so well of them. Excited for you to try one soon!

@@KenchanKrafts I'm OK. Lost power for a while. Overall almost 12 inches of rain dropped on Atlanta in 3 days, so areas prone to flooding did in fact flood.

Thanks for you kind notes and suggestions! I have definitely avoided going through my lines like I did in this video in my newer videos. First time doing that in this old video! I've also adapted my writing angle to the more appropriate angle, too (mine is around 45ish degrees now). Now I just need to work more on writing with a soft and light touch when writing. Like a lot of folks, I do have a heavier hand. Unlearning my natural writing pressure definitely takes time and effort! Thanks for watching Kai!

@@KenchanKraftsJust ordered a soft fine medium in Custom 74. Happened across yours. I too have an issue with appropriate pressure and improving my handwriting. After nearly two years of purely typing notes getting into a habit of writing. I heard soft nibs are meant for writers and I didn't want to mess up my first gold nib.

@@KaiPetro I think soft nibs are more for experts of using fountain pens to their true potential. Steel nibs are better for me because they are stiffer, therefore are also easier for heavy handed folks who are new to fountain pens. As long as you are gentle with the pressure you put into writing with your soft nib, you'll be good. I would also avoid "flexing" the soft nib until you've mastered the right pressures to appropriately flex-write with nibs - it comes with practice and mistakes may happen. I sprung one of my soft gold nibs for the first time and it is not nice! But luckily, I have someone to help fix it xD

I didn't even have the hub in mind when making this video, but it was so aptly timed! I'm sure something in me subconsciously knew to make this video in time for that haha! I emailed our hub master and she said there's room, so I will be going this Friday! There's no way I'm missing it unless it's full xD So now I can bring this cute all-in-one pouch with me to the hub and meet tons of people and share my 3 Pelikans :D 2 and 3 are definitely a flock haha :D Even one is fine! That's so awesome that you took the chance and it turned out well! You didn't want to bother sending it to them to fix or something? I mean I did the same with my MoP gold stub - it had a lot of feedback that was unusual for a stub and had a lot of tipping material. I ended up enjoying that feedback lol so I didn't smooth it out myself. Leonardos are among the most beautiful in any collection! Glad to hear you own one that you love so much! @@KenchanKrafts After seeing all your beauties, I'm inspired to expand my collection! For my Hawaii nib - I live in Canada and ordered it from the US, so sending it back across the border, then having it sent back to me again might have been a problem (and take forever). I guess I got lucky with it because it now writes like a dream. I then proceeded to wreck the nib on a Nahvalur that was really scratchy & misaligned, so it's not as easy as it looks to fix. I've since discovered that there's a nibmeister in Montreal, so now I have a better solution if I get another bad nib.

♥Thanks, Mrs Alchemist! :D Indeed, I want this space and platform of mine to welcome positive adventures and experiences. I'm glad this was a helpful video for practical use of a kit at home, too! I'm usually a home-person when using my pens, so I wanted it to be effective for all situations! I have heard that people open up their bulb syringe a bit to fit the larger feeder hole of the platinum pens, I was just afraid it might be too big for the other pens and water will gush out of the nib and towards me if the bulb isn't a perfect tight fit haha. But if your bulb does its job efficiently now on all pens, then I shall have to try that, too! Thanks for the suggestion!

@@KenchanKrafts my bulb syringes came in a 3 pack of different sizes. So I just cut one for the platinum ☺️ I totally get the fear of water splashing back…. It did happen to me 😄

YES!!! CC Twins! :D I wished they had like a teal, perhaps...but y'know..it's just a silicon cup haha! Grey is a very neutral color and won't attract much attention haha. Hey there, Alex!! :D Thanks for stopping by to watch this video. I forgot to add my rubber grip, only realized after I went online to add links to everything I bought and remembered how useful the rubber grip I have is! It's great for opening difficult ink bottles and removing nib/feed units if you're super careful (I haven't tried that yet lol). When you said Talenti Gelato jar, I was like...talenti...talenti...I've heard that before - I'm sure I've had the mango gelato from that brand! LOL, but that's such a nifty way to reuse that awesome jar! :D Thank you for sharing your kit - Are you going to the CA pen show in February? If I can make enough money to save - I might go to that one, too. Hope to see you again soon at another pen show ^_^

Hi Danny! Thanks for watching and commenting on my new video ^_^ I have dealt with my share of trolls and difficult comments. Some of them are just harsh disagreements that do encourage me to open myself to conversations and differing views. Other comments have just been plain rude. But I have learned and built up a bit of thick skin to perceive these comments from the best possible situation rather than the worse case scenario. Most of the time people just say what comes to their mind without thinking about how to convey what they want to say in a positive or neutral way, so it's up to me to interpret what's being said without letting it affect me too much. It's a skill that we content creators must develop as we put ourselves out to the world! :) And remember you cannot please everyone. Let trolls be trolls - we just keep moving on doing what we love. But making new friends and acquaintences have been worth all the skills required to get through the tough YouTubing times haha! Ah xD that's what I was missing! I ordered a tiny notebook, slightly smaller than a field notes book, from Endlesspens with the Sailor Scones in pre-order, so they're holding my notebook hostage until the pre-order arrives! So that's why I didn't have my small notebook haha.
