A few comments on the staining .
I’ve worked as a bricky in Australia, 1999 when the Olympic village was built in Sydney. Their mortar is mixed a lot wetter than we use is and takes some getting used to . Obviously it’s done due to hot climate . Dedicated brick cleaners follow on and clean the stains off . Or at least they did when I was there !

Everyone from the UK talking about the smugging on the wall should just stop,the mud is much different here in Australia and there is no film to stop mud from sticking to the bricks

I think the way he butters the brick is actually not good as most of his joints won't be full. Which means the bond is weaker

Maybe he needs to either spread that little bit less or do a double bed scrape, great movement, i bet its tough with the heat keeping workable mortar so hence the wetter cement.

Look at the work at the end of the video. Damn clean and a nice finish. Black bricks and white mortar ain't easy, especially in Australia where we have to use wet mud because of the heat.
@@thebosegames1912 maybe a double bed scrape or a little less on the spread may help. Its tidy at the end, give the man a beer full not an ear full 👌

pretty similar to UK techniques, I think the face can be cleaned easily with these blues

Plenty of brick acid will fix!
Not a bricky so feel free to tell me to knick off but I don't think you can beat your technique for buttering the brick stu. Three movements and full perps. Everything is controlled and done with purpose, nothing wasted. Pleasure to watch. Hope you're keeping well bud.
Look at pick n dip method then mate three movements down to no movement you just lay your bed big enough you don’t need to peep , pick and dip is the future all these other bricks are just stuck in there ways and don’t wanna expect that there’s no need to perpca brick on a long run

@@owenvarah5873 Your local builders merchants will stock it, but you must be sure it's what you need for the job, wear goggles as an absolute must along with gloves and be so so careful when using it, it burns skin, if you get it in your eyes, flush them with cold water for at least ten mins after the burning stops and go straight to hospital, seriously mate if you don't treat it with respect it will hurt you, try not to use it

Good bricky but the way he presses all the mud out at once and only scrapes once is creating the smudges you can see the same marks on every brick brick he needs to scrap as soon as he presses down so mud doesent overhang the one below.

Sorry to all you know it alls but on australian brick veneers brickwork is just cosmetic only buttering one side of the brick is good enough
No it's not mate! All brickwork here in oz or Britain is veneer work, just different internal leaf, stil gotta fill those joints, more than 1 reason to do it. That's why here in oz we get lots of joint failure, the first 1 happens during acid clean, then hot days cold nights and heavy wind rain. Speed over quality is a problem here and you know it.

That’s messy as fuck man he’s smeared near enough every brick just more tome wasted sponging off afterwards learn to lay tidy and neat then you won’t have to go back and plus you can still see the white smears slight at the end of the video
