It has had me thinking for days after about what could happen in our own world with the escalation of conflict with nuclear powers on the rise.
This show was all about giving writers source material and having them create original stories within a universe and it’s perfect with 6 plus games you really couldn’t fail. Also funny that Cali wants season 2 to be filmed there like brother we going somewhere better now.
A lot of questions here, like why weren’t they in a vault already? Or why wasn’t he tipped off due to his wife being a big part of vault tec? How is muldaver still around? If she’s a leader in the NCR, why was she with raiders? I’m guessing that there’s gonna be a lot of flashback scenes in season two.

I just cried at this scene because as a Fallout player at heart, it's perfect, perfect.
What makes it sadder is that his look on his face is grim not only because the nuke getting dropped...but also he knows who did it
That's not confirmed, we don't know who dropped the bombs first - they only floated the idea that they were WILLING to if the negotiations didn't go well...considering Barbs daughter is not safe in a Vault and I imagine she knew where she'd be on visitation with her dad...I don't think she dropped the bomb- it's possible someone else in vault tec decided to as she isn't the highest position
my parents knew little to nothing about fallout besides it was just a nuclear fallout game, I wanted to watch the show and I wanted them to watch it with me. now they’re super excited for season 2
How does bro not notice the explosion immediately
Says it to comfort his daughter 🙁
Agreed. Youd feel the heat or see the initial flash in your peripheral vision at the least.
This scene was done so well. His disbelief and then fear.. and that little girl could absolutely not be a better actress! She deserves an Oscar.
As an Aviation Ordnanceman
...I PROMISE, you will not have even remotely enough time to stick your thumb out, and gauge the size of the explosion, let alone turn and run

@@kylereno5383An AO learns more about handling ordnance in a single enlistment than either of us ever will.
The cloud was bigger than his thumb, and he still bothered to run. Guess those Marines didn't have a child they were responsible for.
Me and my fiance started watching this last night and it's honestly great cause I will laugh at something she don't quite get cause she never played the games and I get to tell her like the stimpack the vault girl uses or the bos or raiders I honestly can't wait to explain what a death claw or supermutant is I hope they don't look like crap I been pretty impressed so far tho with the cgi
Aw that’s cute haha, yeah the cgi nowadays is really good as long as they don’t get lazy with it
That girl looked fucking terrified it built to the scene both her and Walton did such a great job demonstrating the pure fear in that moment
This shit was actually really crazy, because somehow I put myself in their shoes and immersed into the scene as if I was there.
they did a really good job at making it feel real
@@Otay.fx1 how does it feel real when they're looking directly at the nuke the second it goes off. The little girl at least should be blind
The beat short I’ve seen period. Music, Cuts, Everything
that is NOT just a fire
Technically it is a very very angry fire
Yeah, but he was hoping it was
He know that
@DixieCrusader-X-no one wants to hear it ya god damn traitor
@DixieCrusader-X- He was hoping against hope, butvin the next few moment to forms up into a mushroom cloud.
The goosebumps were unreal during that scene, I couldn’t stop smiling
As a father I cried during the middle of the scene as my wife and I watched. When we see the 3rd go off we all know there is no point. No parent should see the death of their child.
As a father, felt the same, it left me unsettled for hours after seeing that scene. It was so immersive, I felt the terror and hopelessness of being unable to protect my children from such a horrible thing.
It has had me thinking for days after about what could happen in our own world with the escalation of conflict with nuclear powers on the rise.
Now the odds of her surviving is extremely low but as we hear from Cooper. And the final episode his family might actually still be alive
@@B1_1_9_7_5 😬 Wife and I only finished Ep. 2 last night.
Just imagine what the families went through at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
that scene broke my fucking heart. I didn't expect it to start off that quickly.
Here comes the sun
An I siad its alright do do little darling
Goosebumps for the love he shows to his daughter and the confusion and fear he portrayed correctly
This show was all about giving writers source material and having them create original stories within a universe and it’s perfect with 6 plus games you really couldn’t fail. Also funny that Cali wants season 2 to be filmed there like brother we going somewhere better now.
Mr. Goggins better get every single award for that reaction only
Should've hired the Oppenheimer guy
God dang he’s such an amazing actor. Good guys. Bad guys. Sad guys. Happy guys. He can play them all. Amazing.
SPOILER:
Why he wasn't tipped off like the rest, I do not know as it wasn't explained but Moldaver being still alive can be explained by the fact she probably got a cryopod somewhere.
@@lovehardt1434 or she could be a clone.

God, I love that he says "If its bigger than your thumb dont bother running" yet him and the others still run like hell
They also say not to look at a nuclear explosion as it will blind you.
Oh my god, really? This is such a realistic show, why didn't they use this knowledge?? *sarcasm*

Only the initial flash will blind you. If you missed “first light” you’ll be fine as long as you don’t stare too long. Like the eclipse.
That look Goggins made was genuinely great. He's truly a brilliant actor, and I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves.

Such an incredible actor. I hope they delve more into what happened to him n how he lost his humanity, more of the father daughter stuff
is it your thumb or mine?
Really knocked it out of the park with this opening scene. Cooper is such a great character, and Goggins a great actor. Not just diehard fallout fans but people who never even touched the material prior were given a perfect hook. Cooper was a good man 😭 the war killed the heart of an angel ❤

The moment he realized the truth about the fall of the bombs is just amazing acting
I'm from Russia, but I've played Fallout 2 a lot in my teens. We didn't have this "duck and cover" paranoid culture the US had, so I had no idea about the thumb thing. God, I have to replay this, see what else I missed
ironically russia now the only country who threat whole world about the usage of nuclear weapon
Man seeing the full scale of every nuclear explosions really made me feel the scene. People fleeing for their lives while the other took shelter in their own bunker. You can feel the "the end of the world" right there.
