Don't forget, the queue continues inside the mansion. The ride starts at the base of the stairs. Also, Phantom Manor's queue is designed for evening. Phantom Manor's night queue is downright terrifying, relying on ambience more than effect.
I know this video is 4 years old but maybe the reason the haunted mansion in Tokyo is in fantasyland is because most ghost stories in Japan are considered fantasy
The architecture of Phantom Manor is inspired of an old sketch (not used) of the first haunted mansion and Hitchcock use this sketch to do the psycho house. This is why there are similar. And a bonus for the music of Phantom manor! Sorry if my English is bad, I'm french ;)
All the haunted mansions are awesome and fun fact none of them are actually designed to be scary they're all designed to be more like a happy-go-lucky Adventure rather than a scarehouse that's what makes all the haunted mansions including Phantom Manor the greatest haunted house in history
Yeah they’re all super cool! So far, I’ve only been on the ones in California, Florida, and Paris, but I have my first trip to Tokyo planned for 2023, and I really want to see Mystic Manor!
What I love about Phantom Manor's graveyard scene is that you literally go down, so it makes you feel like you're entering the "world of the dead". And at the end of the graveyard you're going up again, back to the "human" world. If I remember correctly, Tokyo doesn't have this. Do any of the USA parks have this? I have never been there before.
Phantom Manor's main focus is on the house and the story. Tokyo Haunted mansion focuses more on an actual abandoned house. Disney World is based on more riddles and who did what? Disneyland more like a retirement home than the others.
The reason why Tokyo Disneyland used the haunted mansion from Walt Disney world is because Walt Disney world’s haunted mansion believe it or not is more popular than Disneylands because of the extra show scenes so they copied Walt Disney world
My favorite Haunted Mansion is the Tokyo Disneyland version! but i’ll tell you why even though Tokyo is not the most unique, it’s my personal favorite because it still has various elements and effects that have since been removed, some i think are scarier and better than the newer stuff, it still features the original sinister 11 portrait hallway, it still has the pop up ghosts in the attic and it also still has the original beating heart bride (which i think is way better than the current bride). it has a very cool and unique effect, where a face in a portrait seemingly stretches out towards you (which can be seen in the corridor of doors), and it still has the la-da singer audio in the graveyard as well as the ghost in the seance room. and it also has the expanded rooms from Disney World that i think make it better than California’s, and to add the cherry on top, it also does “Haunted Mansion Holiday”. Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris could also be tied with my number one favorite though
and btw, if you’re wondering how i would rank each version of the Haunted Mansion here’s how. though i still love all five versions equally 1: Tokyo 2: Paris 3: Florida 4: California 5: Hong Kong
What happens if you combined Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Exterior, Hong Kong Disneyland's Mystic Manor Uniqueness, Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor's Scares, and Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion's Queue what kind of Haunted Mansion would you get?
Good video! I'll look for other Disney Facts videos on TH-cam! Quibble: to apply a Princess Bride quote to your use of "unique": I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Hello @DisneyFacts i am new here to your video i love the one in Anaheim because of the nightmare before Christmas themed decorations they put and the one in Disney world doesn’t do that I’ve never been to Paris Tokyo and China
Yeah I really like the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff as well. I think Tokyo does it also. I've only been to California, Florida, and Paris, but I'm planning a trip for Tokyo now that the borders have opened up that I'm excited for. It'll be my first time.
My least favorite exterior is the one in Disneyland. Even though Walt had a decision on that one. My favorite is the one in the Magic Kingdom followed by Hong Kong.
Yeah. Personally I love the exterior on Disneyland's, but I can see why some people don't like it just because it doesn't look haunted. My favorite is probably Phantom Manor though.
The haunted Mansion definitely set the tone. There's no questioning that. However phantom Manor understood the assignment. The storytelling. The gothic undertones. The story of Lost Love death redemption and dark poetry that is implicit in the haunted Mansion is extrapolated upon in the phantom manor. There's no comparison. It is supreme
My personal ranking: 1. Tokyo - may be a bit biased since it's the one I grew up with; but hear me out. It's the only mansion where everything is actually working and keeps all of the original practical effects that are now projections or screens in other versions. It also has really good lighting compared to the other versions. I also personally prefer its placement in fantasyland (you'll have to see it for yourself in person to understand). 2. Hong Kong - cool trackless system and has classic gags which are pretty rare in newer rides 3. Florida - I'm not a big fan of the updates made to this version 4. Phantom manor - pretty overrated. Story was also watered down pretty badly over the years 5. Anaheim - the original. Also happens to be the weakest one. Still has my favorite exterior, though.
Maystic manor is the worst mansion I think that magic kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Disneyland Paris maystic manor is 5th place total is 13 Disneyland is 4th total 13 magic kingdom is 1st and Tokyo and phantom manor is 1st as well total 21

I agree Phantom Manor is the best version of Disney’s Haunted Mansion.
1. It’s way darker and scarier.
2. It has a perfect backstory.
Especially that a master of horror Vincent Price was its ghost host.
I've always loved Mystic Manor because it's different and the exterior just looks awesome. And the music is the best disney music
