I ve just taken a photo of this dark cloud hanging in the sky, it’s quite a contrast to the bright sky. This is an intriguing composition. Love tonalism. Ty!
This was such an excellent tutorial! Ty so much for explaining so much while you demonstrate your techniques. Really liked the changes you made to your background hills, & adding in the rainy puddles. Mostly, I’ve been wanting to learn how to paint the fields in that looser method you’re using, that have a similar look of depth you’re achieving by building up the layers, & making the brush create the various textures. Greatly appreciated!!
I truly appreciate your time, knowledge and experience in these lessons. Amazing and very educational. Thanks so much for the detailed video. Blessings and take care. New subscriber.❤
Excellent tutorial! I really love the drama you put into your paintings. It's really inspiring me to put more intense values in my own work. 'No fear' should be every artists motto. I have subscribed, by the way.
Thank you so much for these full tutorials, explaining all your decisions and techniques. Ive been trying to learn oils and finding it difficult. Its all so blendy compareds to acrylic! Love your style too, its exactly how i want to paint with all the moodiness and atmosphere. Subscribed, and so glad I found your channel 😊🎨
For people comming from acrylics, I advise paint oil OVER acrylics. Do your foundation and block ins in acrylic and then after dry use oils. Makes much easier transition sicne you do not need to deal with large masses of oil at same time
@@maxkravt2016 Not this time, I was in Donegal last year and took a few pics. But I'm certainly not adverse to using Midjourney...I have used it a few times on here...I think it's an amazing source for inspiration.
Great painting. I would have been happy with block in 😊. I noticed that you weren’t using any wedge shaped brushes. I think that you would enjoy working with them. Especially since you work with a rather small of a size of canvas. Just a thought. Happy to subscribe 😉
Thank you from North Carolina. Great help and encouragement 😊
My goodness I’m so lucky I found you! Much appreciation for this channel 🙌

Thanks for the tip. Wedge shaped brushes? Do you mean the dagger brushes? If so i am currently looking into them.
the painting surface looks very smooth are you painting on a paper or a canvas?
Extra fine cotton canvas. That's why it looks smooth like paper.
Sorry I didn't know it was oils its beautiful xb
Thank you very much.
I use liquin but not fond of spirits.I think that's what burns my eyes.
you mentioned your head diffy. you got a mask on? Good work.
Yeah I hear you and no I'm not wearing a mask. and...well I probably should. I was thinking of switching to water mixable oils. We'll see.
poss unpc last century title.. 'And mind you don't drink any of them on the way back'
Why do you have white spirits xb
When you apply white spirits at the start of the painting it drys quicker and allows you to continue painting. Hope that helps.
