I am always in another pit :'D tbh i didn't expect to like tgcf as much as I do. i love the world building and details of the characters, and I actually have a (third) favorite character (besides XL and HC, which is shocking bc usually i only stan my main character babies lol). guys feng shi da ren/qing xuan is where it's AT i'm just saying he's one of the best characters in tgcf and you can't stop me from believing that
Anyway, even though I am in this pit, I am only 55 chapters into the raws, yet I decided to translate this video anyway yeet. So please forgive me if there are translation errors about the names, I did the best I could (especially the god cave thing lollll spoiled myself with that one a bit oops). That being said this whole video is basically full of spoilers but that's also because the translated version of the novel is only around twelve chapters in.
also i highkey translated this video because it has my all time favorite line in it: hua cheng's "to die for you is my absolute greatest honor" just KILL ME stomp me into the ground hua cheng

TRANSLATION NOTES:
🦋 the lyrics that mention 'one glance' can also be interpreted (at least in my opinion) as referring to hua cheng's eye. in fact, the chinese translates directly into "one eye" but that term is more generally used to refer to 'a glance', not literally an eye. but that's just based off of my ABC level chinese, my mom disagreed so i went with 'a glance'
🦋 'is it love or hate or pity' the pity is the same character as the one in xie lian's name (lian 怜)
🦋 'city filled with flowers' literally is what 花城/hua cheng's name means (flower city)
🦋 悦神 / pleased god / yue shen refers to scene from the first chapter when xie lian dresses up as the pleased god (wearing a golden mask, hence the lyrics) and saves our lil precious bb from falling off a wall

I accidentally found the english translated of this novel. I was so in love with the story of WangXian and even until I can't still move on but despite that I decided to give it a chance since it was written by the same author. and Wow! it did not disappoint me. Not once. The lines of the characters that was said in this video was so deep and really strike straight to my heart.

HC not expect that XL will return his feeling at all, as long as he still can by XL side and protect him, he already happy. it's what i think bout his character.

I read this after reading mdzs and wanted to branch out to the authors other works. So glad I did. Although mdzs is still one of my favorites, tgcf is top of the list for me. #1! My heart kept twisting in my chest so many times while reading this novel. It has so much feels that I didnt have as much in mdzs. My heart just constantly did flips. This song really portrayed a lot of important things in the novel: the Crimson Rain Sought Flower, the Shangyuan Heavenly Ceremony in Xianle, the three thousand lanterns Hua Cheng offered for Xie Lian at Mid-Autumn Banquet, Xie Lian who was stabbed hundred times using Fangxin, the Qiandeng Temple, and the Thousand God Cavern.
