Bob Kerr`s Whoopee Band ...is really the craziest band in the world!

Vor ca. 30 Jahren erhielten Bob Kerr & Henry Harrison goldene Schallplatten für ihren Welthit "Winchester Cathedral" ein oenehitwonder.
2012 nach beinahe 15 jahren auf der Bühne wurde diese Show aufgezeichnet. Die Band geht auch heute noch auf Tour in ganz Europa.
Von Beatles bis Bizet wird alles durch den musikalischen Fleischwolf gedreht und mit deftigem Dixieland-Jazz und allen möglichen und unmöglichen optischen Gags sowie Slapstick- und Nonsenseinlagen gewürzt. Parodien u.a. von Roy Orbison und den Blues Brothers und natürlich Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (from Monty Python) gehören wie der o.g. Welthit der Tiger Rag oder Carmen immer zur Show. They had a residency at the Golden Lion in Fulham circa 1977/78. Saw them many, many times; brings back some super memories.

You must have been in there at the same time as me. Also another mad band too play there was Supercharge a bunch of nutters but great musicians. Great times when you could walk from one Pub with music to the next one with a different type of music.

@@hyramhackenbacker3953 Absolutely brilliant times. Virtually every decent sized pub in London had a live band almost every night of the week. And as you say so much variety. You also never knew who you'd bump into.....my one claim to fame is getting a pint off Robert Plant in the GL!

The Bonzo's were the originals, which is where Bob and all this sort of stuff came ( was stolen) from, joined them in 1966, and I also think they (The Bono's) were crazier and better.
