yeah, I just swapped my 6-yr-old titanXp due to it's extremely low fps when playing some titles, to 4080. My titan Xp will run some games in low settings with 50fps, while the 4080 in ultra settings with a stable 165 fps. Titan falls...
With the Titan Xp, did you have problems with the temps? I bought the 1080ti a week after it was released and got the Founder's Edition, and that blower cooler was terrible. I ended up getting an EVGA AIO cooler kit for my 1080ti and not only did the temps drop, but the clock speeds boosted higher. I figured the Titan X Pascal and Titan Xp had the same problem. Also, since paste degrades over time, I can imagine that the temps would get worse with these cards.
OMG, if you get 95+ degree GPU temp 24/7, I wouldn't call it "problems" at this point, its the new norm XD. but yeah, my GPU fry up as soon as I enters a game, and stay 90-96 degree all day long. and the noise gets worse over the years because of the dust build up and possible thermal paste degrades. this should be a eye opener for the people, so by next ten years the rtx 4090 will perform just like titan 2013 i have read some comments that rtx 4090 would last a decade but i highly doubt that, its always better to buy a 70 series or lower and then upgrading rather than buying top of the line gpu
Why do people make it seem like if you've got a top of the line GPU you can't upgrade? It's not like anyone's stopping you from upgrading to the 5090, is it? I didn't buy the 4090 because I thought it would last a decade, I bought it simply because it has the performance I want and when it can no longer gives me that I'll simply upgrade.
@@Pyro293 its more of a driver support at that point, i have seen benchmarks of old cards and generally amd cards age well than nvidia, they may not have best performance and features like nvidia but at least games are playable for longer you wont see 10 year gpu driver support from either of these manufacturers but amd is generally better, maybe because they make console hardware, i cant say for sure ps4 can run newer games while 780ti released in the same year aged like garbage in comparison
295x2 is extremely hard to find, and that is a crossfire gpu, two dies on one board. This means a lot of today's games will not utilize the second chip. Therefore, the gpu will rarely use its full power.
@@Reed_Peer Depends on how the question is asked. The GK110 GPU core was released before the end of 2012 in the Tesla. The GTX Titan came out in early 2013, and the 4090 came out in late 2022. Nvidia was so happy with how much better Kepler was over Fermi, that they used the 2nd tier GK104 for the GTX 680. Nvidia made it clear that they were not going to release the GK110 to consumers until they needed to refresh the GTX 600 series.
Duckstation? I got running on a hd5450. PCSX2 might be do it aswell on a hd5450, If dolphin running decently on that gpu. I dont think, emulation isnt a problem on gpu, the most site of things is on the CPU.
