I just started running this year and have had a lot of improvement. However that first 10 minutes is brutal and I only just recently discovered why and that it isn't just me. But I find that after 10 minutes, if I stop and take a 5 minute break that I can then run another 10k with little difficulty. I've tried to find alternative to taking a 5 minute break, but everything just says to start out slow and push through it. But trying to push through seems to make the entire run unpleasant and I have to stop several times for 10-15 seconds anyway as I can't quite push through, I just feel like a slob. Are there any other good strategies for this, or should I just take my 5 and hope it gets better over time?
I think it’s totally fine to take 5 and it may improve over time! You can also try going out even slower for those first 10 minutes and focus on breathing slowly/steadily through your nose
Just signed up for my first half marathon next April and really enjoying all the tips! Great video ☺️

Nice video! Buying peleton would be a good idea for the people who live in chilly area like midwest?
