Why his record as captain dropped after 2007?When you have players like Gilchrist,Warne,McGrath,Hayden,Gillespi,Lee,Langer your skills as a captain hardly get tasted.
Ian Chappell made the point and he's right - leadership, not captaincy. Anyone who can play a bit could be a captain. Knowing how to control however many other people, that's leadership. Imran Khan was an example of that, as was Chappell, Ravi Shastri, Mark Taylor.

Joy Roy Bullshit. Stop pulling useless stats out of your ass to try and undermine Bradman, his scores say it all. If Ponting played as good as him he would have an average of 100
@Joy Roy it's one of those arguments where there is no wrong answer. The reality is that the Don has the superior batting average. But he had fewer opponents and they didn't have video analysis back then to find weaknesses in your game like they did in Ponting's era. So if he had to play more games against more opponents more frequently, could he have maintained the same high standard? Probably not. Ponting was a better fielder for sure and his tactical nous as Captain was better in my opinion. So I would say he's a more complete player but not as great a batter individually. But that's just my opinion. So why not just settle it with they both were the greatest Australian batters of their time?
