Mana drain seems so awkward in a deck that has colorless lands. I'm playing Worn Powerstone as ramp in my Timeless Eldrazi deck since you can cast it turn 2 and it brings you to 6 mana on turn 3 if you don't miss land drops
I was split between Mana Drain and Mind Stone, just as a 2 mana to 4 mana card . I went with Mana drain because I wanted the deck to have a bit more interaction. I think, I would have to rebuild with more top-end if I added a pure ramp artifact.
