Great ride out on the ole Interceptor, I enjoyed listening to that great exhaust note of yesteryear.. the front twin leading brake assembly mod is perfect & you will quickly get used to it.. a quick look at a good variety of bike’s & couple of trikes to share as well 😅.. really takes me back, cheers VB, Phil 🇦🇺
That interceptor sounds vey good, and purposeful, looks like it goes very nicely as well, so a good job you got your brake sorted, very good video, and a good turnout at the bikdnight, with a good variety of bikes, and nice to see that Gold star out again ,its nice to see these bikes actually used!
I've got MK1A and agree it sounds better than the Commando,(owned one previously) I put that down to not having the balance pipe joining both pipes.Only bike that has a better exhaust note than those two is the early 70's Ducati 750 GT.
@MrLeslloyd I have a 62 Mk1 and a 67 Mk1A as well as the 70 Mk2! Yes, they do have a bit of a snarl to the exhausts! The commando's always seemed to sound a bit flat to me.
G’day Mr. VB, although I really shouldn’t call you that as VB is a brand of beer over here🍺🤪. A Stonham bike night without a Mr. TAYM?? It just don’t feel right 🧐🤣. Fantabulastic ride mate, true blue & tickety boo. Thanks for taking us along. I was waiting with bated breath when she cut out, second kick start was impressive. Take care mate, Hooroo for now🏍👍😎
@OlManShit4Brains Hello fella! Checked the timing when I got home and it was out quite a bit, starts first kick now and has loads more go! Dunno where TAYM had got to.
Like you VB, I can't tell one bike from another if its made in the last 20 years. Show me something from the 70's or 80's and I know instantly what it is. Looks like another interesting evening 👍
Voge is Chinese brand, yes.. They are becoming more and more popular with the off-road rally style bikes. Few other Chinese brands are creeping out little by little (Kove, CF moto, Zontes and others) and taking points from the Japanese bikes. The black Honda is CB1000R, using detuned CBR 1000 RR super sport engine.. It's a screamer bike with huge hp numbers. Your interceptor looks very comfortable with that handlebar, is it that way from the factory?
Thanks. That has filled in a few blanks! The handlebars are the right pattern but should have the cross brace as they were sold as a street scrambler. I do have the right ones for it, just haven't had the time to fit them yet. Yes, the bike is extremely comfortable.
In the early 1960s when I was still in high school, I would have sold my soul to the devil to have a Royal Enfield 750 Interceptor but my funds were limited so I ended up with a Yamaha YDS2 and finally in 2024 I may finally be over it!😎Watching this video and listening to the sound of the Interceptor's pipes isn't helping!
Barnstorming in Stonham again Mr Brown ? Good show . Nothing sounds better than a 360 twin on the road . Who cares about a bit of tappet clatter ? Much better than the whirry whistling DOHC of modern bikes . I suspect the modern Interceptor riders don't dare approach the Real Thing .Anyway , yours is bigger than theirs . Are the clocks Chinese quality knock offs ? If you're having difficulty with the originals ,I've had speedos and rev counters rebuilt by Timeless Motorcycle near Nottingham . Absolutely excellent workmanship and super people . Voge is Chinese . I think you can guess what I think about Chinese bikes . Maybe you can crush and bury a few with your D8 .
@dungspreader Timeless classics have my original clocks as I type! The fella in this vid sums up Chinese bike's very well! Funny! th-cam.com/video/FEvXKjO91x0/w-d-xo.html
@@Volcanicbrown1878 . Good old Paul Henshaw . We are of the same mind when it comes to Chinese crap . There is a retired copper up in Yorkshire at the moment prattling on about his new Chinese bike on his channel . He's a bit like the other retired Yorkshire copper , takes half an hour to get to the point whilst murdering the English language with their pronunciation . I think he's part budgerigar , 'cos all he can say about the bike is " cheap cheap cheap " . What will that bike be worth in 54 yrs ?
@dungspreader I don't watch either of them! (now!) Well, in 3 years the bike will become a new washing machine for sure. in 54 years? Well that's a deadly amount of washing machines.
Listen with headphones to really enjoy that engine, yep tappet noise but won’t harm the engine. That brake must make a huge difference but are your forks coping? Devon accent here so no problems understanding yours. :) you inspire me to do my own, should I?
Not sure what the point is of buying a 650 Continental GT and putting higher handlebars on it ? Just buy a 650 Interceptor if you’re going to do that. As for the 650 Interceptor riders not knowing or wanting to know about your Interceptor, to paraphrase Manuel, they know nothing. I do think it’s difficult to beat a Commando for looks, but I’ve always thought the big old Royal Enfield engines had a certain brutal atheistic that appealed to me, and they win hands down on rarity. Yes I’d give your bike best in show. Of the modern bikes there, I do like the Kawasaki Z900RS 🇬🇧
@stewy62 That Continental GT threw me for a bit, wasn't sure if it was an Interceptor with a Continental tank or a Continental with Interceptor bars! Regarding my inter, a lot of folks have no idea what it is! There is nothing on it that says "Interceptor" and some new inter owners are oblivious that there ever were original Inters long before theirs's were made. Yes it is a bit rare, one of 1200 or so made. It's also a bit of an oddity Best there, had to be that Norton, hands down!
That Interceptor has a nice sound with plenty of grunt. That Norton was immaculate.
@davidellis5964 It's actually a lot louder than the camera picks up. That Commando was as new but spoilt by alloy rims.
Sounds so much better than the modern Interceptors.
Put on some aew silencers and the new ones snarl like nothing else.
The old ones with the 360 degree cranks. Nothing sounds better.
I think the Interceptor engine is the most beautiful of the British twins, and I say that as a former Norton owner.
@bferguson9277 Praise indeed!
Your Interceptor and the Commando were the nicest two bikes there. Enjoyed the video, cheers.
@splodge5714 That's nice of you to say that, Thankyou! My prize has to go to the Norton!
I agree Norton Commando & Interceptor.I had a mate who had a Commando 750 Combat & sold it about 2005 & is kicking himself now.
You do the same as me - enjoy the ride to the show, have a wander round the bikes then can't wait to get back on the bike!
@edgoodfella2052 Looking at bikes is one thing, riding them is another!
My dream bike
Beautiful bike, sounds lovely. Did enjoy watching that. Thanks
Great video and the bike looks and sounds superb 👍

@patrickgreenman8248 I only have my laptop speaker to hear it, but in real life it does sound very snarly! The brake upgrade works really well too.
Nice interceptor didn't know they made them as late as 1970 , 360 twins sound far better than these new 270 twins
@nounoufriend1442 1970 was the very last year for them.
It was great to see, hear and ride out on the 54 year old Interceptor 750! 👍👍. Never mind, one day you will be able to afford a new one 😁😁.
@GapBahnDirk Maybe one day! ( Where have I heard that before!)
Never boring listening to that exhaust, lovely bike nice video bud 👍
@markpercy4277 It's actually a whole lot louder than the camera picks up.
I agree with an earlier comment. The 750 Interceptor and the Norton Commando just look great. I liked the Kawasaki Z900s too. Thanks for this video.
Some nice machines there.... great video
@thepipesmokingbeekeeper8917 Something to suit everyone, well almost!
14:14 nicest bike at the show 🤠
@DANTHETUBEMAN You made me go back to the video and look! Now I am blushing! Thankyou. The Norton was faultless!

125s used to look like supermopeds. Now they look like 500s.
@borderlands6606 I also have a Honda Varadero 125, It's an 80mph bike believe it or not! I have been asked many times if its a 600 !!
Nice one Interceptor sounds great . Nice display of bikes hope you had a good day out my best wishes to you from the Philippines ❤️💪👍😉😀😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴

@deltabluesdavidraye Because they are two of my favorite bikes! Especially the 350 Bullet, they just run so much sweeter than the 500's
