Tried using these rivets but somehow ended up making the hole towards the back a bit larger than the rivet can grip onto. The fiberglass on the side seems a bit easy to break through
Screws have a tendency to over penetrate and backout. I have friends that use shallow 1/4" screws with threadlocker liquid like Loctite. I personally like to use rivets because they are more secure and anchor accessories securely. I use rivets on my kayaks, cars, shed, etc.
@@VibrantDeals ohhh ok, that’s helpful! I’ve watched a few install videos because I’m going to be ordering some soon and never understood why everyone uses rivets instead of screws. Screws would be easier but if they’re not as secure, they’re probably not the right way to go.
If you prep the surface and use a strong quality tape there will be no issues. I have two other friends with the same kit and they have no issues two years later. I've driven my car plenty and it is on there good.
Excellent demonstration.
I am in the market for side skirt with wing. This demonstration sold me. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Take your time and prep it right and it will turn out great.

Thank you! Is the front splitter the same brand? I found the side skirt, but not a matching 5VM front splitter..
@@jeffhanson1689 The front splitter I bought on eBay and is a 5VM style ➜ebay.us/nyiSX2. It works great and have no issues with it.
It's not gonna hold long term without the bolt thru the fender

No problem!

Anyone else concerned about drilling holes into your new car? I imagine trading in the car at a later date would be significantly devalued.
The holes drilled are tiny and shallow. The install would be exactly the same at the dealership.
