- End your fear of flying: nonstopdan.com... This is my longest travel video to date! It was the first flight of the evening to London Heathrow with British Airways and it was completely sold out! I was very surprised when I saw how early we pushed back and I didn't expect it to take an hour to taxi to the runway! I knew JFK was busy, but this was shocking! Everyone really started getting restless after a while. When we finally took off we see an extraordinary, purple lighting! Unfortunately, we ended up missing our connection in London due to the delay. Skip to 30:30 to see an astonishing effect from the sun! Enjoy the video guys :D

This is the fifth video from my trip to the UK and USA during the summer of 2013 :D
Thanks for watching!
I was flying from Laguardia to Boston once. We taxied for so long I thought we were driving there. lol
Robert Dambeck LaGuardia is getting closed soon.
Ryland Brough smh. I was watching videos saying it was getting closed. I guess they wasted my time. I was happy because I thought it was true. I hate having to go there for a lay over. I’ve only been there twice and both of my experiences were awful.
Owen Klein Have you not seen/heard about their recent renovations? LGA’s new terminal is a big upgrade from what it was before.
DylanHK that’s not the problem. It’s the delays
It's JFK on rush hour when the mayority of aircrafts are coming in and heading back to their countries of origins.
PS : 7:00 it is Speedbird Two bound for London City! it took over the flightnumber from the concorde :)
again mate, loved this vid.
cheers dan!
Nice catch with the China Eastern A340-600 in Skyteam livery followed by the Boeing 747 DreamLifter at 5:05!
Great video buddy. Love how you've captured that airport environment, the shots of the HUGE line of aircraft waiting to depart...and a Dreamlifter!!!!
There's always a baby on any given plane!!
No, but the probability is proportional to the length of the flight
I have been to a flight that there was no baby in it.. :3
Meepster
usually on flights im on there are always babies :p
I've been on many flights without a baby, and even so, I'd much rather hear a sweet little baby cry than listening to adults who are a lot worse.
I Rather listen to adults. i just love sound
I love the whole theater and drama of take off & landing.
I could watch these videos all day long.
If you love airplanes and videos like this, thumbs up.
taxing took forever! You're a very patient camera man. If it was me, i'd probably put down my camera and say "fuck it i'll sleep."
These things tend to go up in the air, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
The wingspan is incredible
Special treat seeing the Dreamlifter. GREAT job, as always, Dan.
That’s a nice added bonus.👍😁
What I like most about this video is the 747's flaps complex movement during taxi. Must have some pretty smart rails & actuators there. The actuation geometry (but not parts, of course) actually has a lot in common with the classic 737s. Other Boeing aircraft have entirely different flap mechanisms. I also like the contrails at the end of the video. It is not very common to see your own airplane's contrails like that.
Nothing out of the ordinary, but really captures the contemporary air travel, love it.......but not that baby, I get at least one every flight!
wonderful job!! love these videos.
Fantastic shot of Lufthansa 747 landing through the mist
I will NEVER forget my first flight in a 747-400. It was with EVA and that is my frequent airline. The aircraft is so smooth and subtle.. Flies so gracefully and proud. I love the 747 so much :)
wow thumbs up for the people who put this machine together. Its amazing knowing how much pressure the wing is under over and over again
Yes JFK is amazing in many ways! There are always new birds to see :D
The lady making the announcements is *so* British, I expected her to say "How smashing!" at any moment.
Don't you hate getting stuck in traffic? And I loved the look at the Dreamlifter. My favorite part of riding in any airplane is when the wheels leave the ground.
Great fun to watch departure from JFK and the take-off & flight - could feel the thrill of it. I would have edited out the tedium of most of the taxiing, however.
That was a good positive climb out. Really nice...Through the clouds and away you go...
I think is was an extreme occasion! A Sunday night in the middle of summer but JFK is always very busy!
Man, that Dreamlifter is enormous!
Best taxi video EVER!
A great soothing takeoff and flight. At least after the long wait at New York to take off. I remember those 2 hours of waiting to take off back in the 80's and 90's.
Those contrails forming at 30:30!! Great video Dan!!
Cool sunset with the outboard contrail visable!
I also love the Dreamlifter at 5 minutes
Omg so jelly, you got to see the dreamlifter for real
so wish i could
I appreciate the work the engineers do to design those wings...
Nice video, and the sun illuminating the vapor trail(s) was a nice bonus! Well done.
You even caught the Dreamlifter! Great video bud🤩
its amazing all the planes stacking up behind,,superb video
I've seen some queues at JFK before and, well, that is definitely one of them ;)
Great video - it's been so long since I last flew on a 747, great to see that wing view again :)
Fantastic in every way. Thank you🙏🏾
I am enthralled and this is a superb video.
i can never get enough of these videos. thanks Dantorp Aviation
I always enjoy seeing the wing change angle as it begins to lift the aircraft!
Thumbs up for showing the flap deployment. Good job !
wow! skip to fking 18:00 unless you reeeally enjoy taxing videos
My cab driver used to fly 747's. Sometimes for no reason he stops in the middle of the road and waits for an hour.
CrimeJail hahahaha i think i saw that dumbass yesterday defrosting his cab.
I actually expected the crew to taxi back to the gate and refuel...
Cl4rendon Nah..moving slow enough so could have had a ground to ground refueling
Cl4rendon lol
Can't imagine how much jet fuel gets waisted on long taxi and waits like that
Honestly LHR is well within the queens range... I'd say they carried out the extra fuel in view of the delays expected during taxi out....
As a former air traffic controller and traffic management specialist I can attest to some severe ground delays I have issued because of multiple aircraft attempting to depart the airport or arrive at the same time.. We take into account the acceptance rate at destination and enroute facilities, weather and numerous other factors that all translate into sometimes lengthy ground holds. Many years ago there were hardly any ground delays and traffic backups were handled by enroute or destination holding in the air which translated into heavy fuel costs. Airlines didn’t want to be held in the air anymore and wanted ground holds instead. Airlines typically blamed ATC for departure delays when in fact they were to blame by scheduling an impossible number of aircraft to arrive or depart an airport at the same time..of course, weather has a drastic effect on air operations so enroute facility acceptance rates are reduced and total ground stops initiated. Next time you fly think about the number of flights your airline has departing at or near the same proposed time, ten, fifteen, or more multiplied by the number of airlines serving that airport and you’ll be asking how is that possible?
Its really the queen of the skies!
I just felt I was inside the flight.... thanks for posting....
I love behind the wing window seats. Ya get that sinking feeling as the rear of the plane lowers upon takeoff
Ikr the feeling is just so great
Nice job. Clean window, no camera shake, excellent sound..beautiful evening takeoff out of the big apple.
Tell me flying these days isn't fun!!! Squeezed into tiny seats like spam in a can, screaming kids next to you, then hanging around on the tarmac for an hour and a half waiting to take off after dealing with the chaos inside an airport like JFK......gotta love it :-)
David Anderson ever heard of business class?
JFK will always be busy in the evening when all the transatlantic flights are usually departing. If you're going in that direction, take a late flight (9pm or later) if it's available.
Wow great plane the 747-400
Absolutely fantastic sequence, pull back, taxi and take off....awesome New York sights !
Wow beautiful takeoff
Breezy point climb
I was there and filmed that exact plane takeoff but in a spotting position.
What an absolutely insane airport!
afternoon jfk traffic is a killer lol...best time for spotting in ny
I loved the views of the rainbow lift vaper and the contrails coming from behind the engines. That part I think is sooo cool.
Amazing video, as usual!
Wow! You just don't realize how fast you're going until you see those clouds zipping by!
Great catches on the Skyteam CES and Dreamlifter. Had the same experience with a Virgin 744 flight out of there to LHR- broken flap motor led to a 3 hour delay and we missed our connection to Hamburg. Oh well, I used the opportunity to do some plane spotting at Heathrow and got me an MEA A330 brotha!
that was great for a novice like me seeing the different airlines was cool thanks for the effort.
The landing was just as good, thanks. Like the way the crew clapped after it landed safely :)
So So long this time to go on runway, it's incredible
this needed a hot cup of Tea! thank for the upload !!
I wanted to slit my wrists. How uninteresting it is to stare at an aircraft's wing for... How long was it?... 18 hours? And why didn't someone stuff a rag in the screaming brat's mouth? God!
Brilliant. Thanks for putting it on here.
Great shot of the exhaust condensation contrails at 30:30
Great video as always :)
Awesome, just a textbook example of geometry wings, flaps during takeoff roll and 747, this video is good work!
Great video! I've flown many times and yet it still amazes me how marvellous an invention an airplane is! The powerful sound of the engines b4 takeoff is priceless!
I remember when the Concorde was here at JFK
Actually not that long ago.I digress
When it took off from JFK one knew it was the Concorde and nothing else but before even setting eyes on it
Even before it became visible during the take off roll the noise sounded like a mad fire breathing monster dragon down deep below in a valley
The roar from those four engines being bounced off every building and thing that God created
By the time the roar got to your ears it was like surround sound coming from all directions imaginable
Usually when a lesser aircraft here takes off one can pin point where it is on the field with some degree of accuracy
Not with the Concorde
It's always my pleasure man!
Yes, I have always loved how the flaps come down to adjust for take-off.. Really cool...
Beluga is great! thank for video!!!
I know the Flight Attendant speaking us the Purser or Cabin Team Leader. She reminds me of what I did for many years. BA is a great airline. I worked for United as a Purser Flight Attendant also... Great video...Cheers...
I still have a special love for the old -400. I flew on it as a child. Sad to see them being retired now. Qantas just got rid of the last of theirs.
@Royal KLM I flew on that once. Qantas had a couple of them many years ago.
Great video man!! I love JFK airport and have flown in and out of there many times. Delays like this are normal for this airport, but I've gotten used to them over the years cause I can honestly say it doesn't affect me much at all anymore. That's just me, though. I'm sure the majority doesn't feel the same way as I do :)
very nice video! Thankyou for sharing it with us! 😊
Nice to see Qantas there, a long way from home.
Wow, real gems out there! AA 777-300ER was expected but Dreamlifter is a nice surprise.
And you know JFK is always more driving than flying ;-)
I travelled all over the world when I was working, now I'm retired and don't plan to see the inside of an airplane for as long as I live, still have about 1.5 million miles on United, will give them away to my drinking buddies whenever they need it, so long you steel birds, forever.
Excellent video. Just like flying over NYC. Thanks
very good can't wait for the landing
This is stunning Dantorp11 !!! Enjoyed every second from 0:00-31:49, really cool view:D
it feels like i am on board off this plane , excelent movie mate , great stuff
It's no wonder that you have over 10,000 subscribers Dantorp !! You keep feeding us junkies with amazing footage of these beautiful planes!
Thanks for sharing!
Mike.
Great video. Thanks for making it.
Awesome planes and views
OMG ! An hour to taxi to runway, the poor passengers must have been twisting and turning in restless distress. But well worth the awesome take off photos !
Wow the time spent taxiing was insane
Nice view of NY
OMNG WHAT AN AWSOME TAKE OFF,,,GREAT FOOTAGE,,,GOOD JOB,,,,,FROM ALAM
I don't think they had planned taxi fuel for 1 hour...
BEAUTIFUL VID!
Just returned from NY. 2 hours from push back at JFK to takeoff. Right laugh.
Love planes and the engines the way they sound and takeoff i flew on one coming back home from florida airbus it was awesome yes they have to show the safety video just incase of an emegerncy landing .
Thanks for that Captain Obvious.
you're welcome sir .
Casey Doss Thanks for sharing this with us all that is sooo cool~ I love flying but always scared of crashing/high jackers so I don't fly any more & miss it a lot! So now I will look @ these videos when I want to fly~ LOL!!
It remind me of flying from Tulsa,Okla to Dallas,Love Field TX back in 1984 when I when to visit my Daddy in Houston , TX
Thank~ You for Sharing with us all Casey!!
Bless you Dear!!
you're welcome ma'am i love flying also .
what amazes me is not the actual take off which it was really good, but the fact that the control tower had and have to deal with all the planes they were ready to take off, plus all the rest that landing, and going through their air space...must be a mad house Arizona in there....good video though...
Dreamlifter! Verrrry cool......
A truly excellent, superb video ;-)
Nice video
Great video! Well, I need a drink, can't wait that long !
Yes it was extraordinary! So exciting!! Thanks my friend :D
Love the massive flaps on the 747!!
