✈ British Airways Boeing 747 Landing New York JFK Airport // LHR-JFK

  • Airline: British Airways (BA)
    Route: London Heathrow (LHR) - New York John F Kennedy (JFK)
    Aircraft: Boeing 747-436
    Registration: G-CIVF
    Flight: BA113
    Seat: 36A
    Cabin: World Traveller Plus
    Approach and landing at New York's John F Kennedy Airport after the eight hour flight from London Heathrow.
    The 747 was in good condition considering it's age, at nearly 21 years of flying it's bound to be a little worn but the recent cabin refresh hid most of its scars! The entire aircraft shook and vibrated for a few seconds after rotation, I'd forgotten how powerful the jumbo could be on take off so this took me by surprise. The noise level in the cabin is also much louder than I remembered, a world away from the 787 Dreamliner and near silence of the A380.

      But at least they're still flying the beautiful A380!✈️ I would love to see that BA A380 come here to JFK one day in the very near future. 🙏🤞

    Beautiful airplane! Interesting watching the ailerons and flaps moving when banking. Such little movement on the aileron to turn such a massive aircraft. Love the Boeing 747!

Asiana A380, British Airways 747, Etihad A380, El Al 747, Singapore A380(still servicing JFK but won't anymore come the end of April when they take it away and give it to Melbourne and replace it with a 777), and Emirates A380!!!!!(at least they're not taking this one away from JFK 🙏🙏)

      It depends on the configuration and the cabin class you're travelling in. On my flight it was a World Traveller Plus seat and very nice with plenty of room but it can also be a standard economy seat, either way it should be comfortable.

    What do flaps do? Because don't they use them at take off as well.

    • @KevinAndrew350
      @KevinAndrew350  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flaps create drag and lift. At take off they are partially lowered to generate lift, while at landing they are fully lowered to slow the aircraft as it approaches the runway.
