Seeing this makes me realize that Kiryu and Ichi has different body language, not just how they readied themself for battle but also their action& reactions as well
@Akira_Nishikiyama_reaction I think it really speaks to his grown experience over the year's. In 0 and kiwami he utilized resolute counters (which was him getting hit, just to hit back) for his unrefined brawler style but even in cutscene's/story moments he was much more of the mindset of powering through with his superior strength. But over the year's and training with komaki and daidoji, he better utilizes his movements to parry or capitalize on an opponent's attacks on his own.
i don't know why, but i'd love to see a mod where ichiban is replaced by nishikiyama, maybe for the voice actor, maybe to see him and kiryu fighting togheter, i don't really know.

there’s a couple comments that say why ichi shouldn’t have fought ebina but i’ll sum it up 1. we already had brother vs brother (blood doesn’t mean jack to ichi) 2. ebina is a product of the mess that kiryu had made in the yakuza series 3. something else so i can make a third point
While I like Kiryu vs Ebina and I get why it makes sense. Bryce’s boss felt like an after thought compared to the climax of ebina. Seeing Ichiban here in Kiryu’s place made me realize that Ichiban is still kinda just his same self without much of an ascension like his Koi represents. The change in models is so cool bc (pretending this is how the story goes about right) it shows like a more tangible progression of power/maturity for Ichiban.
Is it just me or is Nanba going for Daigo and Seong hee going for Saejima less fitting than the other way around i mean Seong hee was a leader of her own organization like Daigo and Nanba and Saejima have that homeless connection along with Loyalty to their Bro's
@@limppickle4306 Depends how motivated Nanba or Saejima are if they're both motivated yeah Saejima flattens but if Nanba's motivated he could give saejima a run that's for sure, i mean the fight in 7 also happened...

@@chugganeutral Saejima had the strength to rival Kiryu in Y5, and Saejima was still in a business that required muscle sometime before Y8. Considering Kiryu literally sees Saejima as an equal in strength, Nanba can't beat Kiryu, and thus can't beat Saejima
Somehow, the swap matches their fighting styles even more imo, especially with Kiryu's staggering showing how much weaker he is now due to the terminal radioactive cancer. Edit: And the boss match up with Ichiban make more sense in this mod. Bruh this makes it look like Kiryu is fighting Bacchus 9:20
@@MrBDSaint34how? /gen Kiryu VS Ebina was because he was taking on the sins of the yakuza’s past and trying his best to make up for them, and Ichiban was fighting for the ex-yakuzas’ futures, that’s the theme. And so while it’s cool to see Ichiban and Kiryu fight different final bosses and definitely a neat idea, I don’t really see how it makes more sense than the original thematically :0
@@MapleSyrup2002 Exactly. Ichiban fighting him would have done nothing but add a sense of deja-vu in the brother vs brother final boss route from the last game. I doubt Ichiban would ever get through to him the way Kiryu did either as his hatred for the yakuza has far outgrown Arakawa.

actually its because yakuza 8 is so peak that it makes sense either way the protags fight, the explanation for each fight would be different but the game would still feel thematically sound

It is interesting that Kiryu always dodging attack from opponents or aggressively fight back. He doesn't really block attack compare to Ichiban.
