Orb holder has quick timer. Door shuts quickly. You have to direct orb towards holder. When orb comes out towards holder, quickly make portals to door button befor orb reaches holder
i played first time and it wasnt that hard but yeah skill needed jump was big. I had issue with first part of this map that I didnt realise what I have to do... I tried to get the shooting ball inside itself first, then realised that the ball is supposed to go else where
i’ve always loved turrets but they always freak me out. if a chamber has turrets, I always look at the walkthrough first to see where the turrets are so I’m prepared.
I've fund of the turrets even though they kill me I've even taken a picture of myself Dead next to one or two of them going so this is my life now I can't wait to collect those turrets again

Honestly, I sort of hope the second game may be better with it's camera and movement with portals, the way you can propel yourself in this game is fascinating to me, with how you can go through one portal and come out another at high speed, like at the end part of this level, but honestly, and this is coming from someone who has played a LOT of VR, a medium which a lot of people say can give severe motion sickness, and be completely fine with moving using a joystick in those games, the method that is most likely to cause motion sickness in people- NO GAME, has EVER given me motion sickness like this game has, don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the puzzles so far, but the fact that I can play fully immersed in the most intense VR games for hours and not get motion sick, yet I can play this game for a few minutes just looking at my monitor and get the most visceral experience I've ever had with motion sickness is absolutely insane- That's probably the biggest part where, at least this first game, hasn't aged well at all, and I hope it gets improved in the second, because somehow this has topped VR in terms of motion sickness, the only thing I could imagine being worse than this would be if portal were in VR- Love the gameplay and puzzles, but I hate this one aspect-

Around 5:30, I got the cube before guiding the energy to the reactor by jumping off the top platform and using momentum to carry me across the acid without the lift. It ended up breaking the test and I had to revert to the last save
not easy to go through the timings with Nintendo Switch (slow controllers compared to keyboard and mouse). thinking if I won't connect some set to the console just to get through it
There is another way how to open that chamber that only opens for 5 seconds haha. You go inside of it and when you are trap inside they will open it for you so you can escape, it will remain open forever
I got confused with the jump cause I thought you had to open up the slanted platform, shoot a portal on that, then backtrack to the previous area to jump from there and then launch to the cube. Apparently there was a floor all the way at the bottom. Whodathunk?
There is also a shorter way where you can just kill the bots then do the fling, no energy pellet required if you don't want to go through that hassle, but it's A little risky
the last part is not possible because you are not stedy when flying up. its not possible to shoot the next exit and fall back in the portal you shoot out. i will just use the NOCLIP
Only thing i couldn't figure out was how i even got into the room with the turrets in the first place. Watched this video and slapped myself in the forehead so hard! 😂
I’ve been trying this level for ever, and now I get to the button in time and it lags, so everytime the orange orb goes into the spot it’s supposed to, it doesn’t process it and UGH (very upset. It won’t work and it’s aggravating.)
Well the video shows you how to do it. Here's an easy way to think of it, always alternate color between shots: 9:11 shoot blue at 1st platform (fall through orange at bottom of pit) 9:24 shoot orange at 2nd platform 9:27 shoot blue at 3rd platform 9:30 shoot orange at 4th platform 9:34 shoot blue at 5th platform Tricky part is figuring out your orientation after you go through the portal: you don't know your new immediate orientation and before you gather that it's already altering it so you're upright.
easier way to get to the robot shooting area, aim for the roof, the roof till the robot shooting area can be shot with portals, u shoot one up and just walk to the rpobot area
I struggled with that too, but i ended up figuring out a different way to get there! The part of the level with writing on the walls and junk on the ground has a water jug you can pick up. It's height is just enough to make it from the moving platform to the cube if you stand on it.

@@thenextgeneration9030 I looked this up cause I've always solved the puzzle by jumping on the pedestal with the button and getting stuck in the box with the ball catcher. Glados comments on how "smart" you are for getting stuck and she opens the door. From there I shoot the portals to line up the shot and crouch. And I knew there had to be a real solution.
For some reason my dumbass just gave up trying to kill the turrets after like one misfire. This video is probably old but thanks anyway for telling me how.

This is very difficult test chamber when it comes to timing the ""when and the "where" to shoot your portal to after knocking out the sentry turrets!

I beat this level not knowing of how to get the cube so I got a bucket from the secret room and used it to jump on the cube platform.
I used one of the dead bot's body it worked

They don't freak me out, in fact I think they are the funniest thing in portal. Both their dialogue and they ways in which they die.

@@thatoneguychad420 it helps you get through the portal when you are jumping. If you have it off, you will hit the edge of the portal.
