And overall I like that the whammies have more references to famous stuff such as It, The Bachelor, Family Feud, Snow White, and some old whammies.
I just did the 20 episode play through of this myself. I used to love this show as a kid so I was happy to see it here. I thought this game was a great representation of the actual show and the Whammys are so adorable (unless you're the one that landed on it).
Press Your Luck from 1983 through 1986 on CBS hosted by Peter tomarken voice over Rod Roddy later became Price is Right voice over in 1985 took over from the death of Johnny Olson and Charlie O'Donnell later became Wheel of Fortune voice over rerun on USA cable from the early 90s era
I'm not sure what to make of this game. They didn't use the classic PYL theme (they used the pilot music instead), there's no sound on the Whammies, and when you hit Big Bucks, it takes you to the Trip square instead of Square #4, where the largest cash amount actually is. It's like the game programmers didn't even watch an episode of the show, they just saw bits and pieces while channel surfing.
The sad thing is they reached out to many fan forums to get input on how the mechanics of the game were and its as if they threw all that feedback out the window
Well, the PS3 release later on fixed some of those issues, by adding a cover of the real PYL theme, a looping board sound, (it still truncates the first half), and more diverse prizes.

The company made a Whammy itself because the Big Bucks always takes the winner of it to the highest money space on the Big Board, not the Vacay spot. 1001 Pardons for that error.
7:38 WHOA WHOA WHOA! IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE $1500 NOT A TRIP! THAT DOES NOT MAKE ANY FREAKING SENSE! NINTENDO, WHY DID YOU MAKE THAT KINDA BIG BUCKS LIKE THAT?
I just noticed you can Michael Larson this game as the Middle top and middle right squares always have money + 1 spin which is what Michael Larson was able to amass $110,000 on the actual game show by hitting.
Actually, the game board has no pattern, however you can still Michael Larson this, well, technically.... While spinning the board in either round, keep a close eye on the top square. If it reads $1,000 (Round 1) or $3000 + One Spin, (Round 2) stop the board! You are guaranteed to not hit a Whammy.
@Sheldon Cooper Yea I saw that. Bc of integer overflow the game converted it to a negative number. (the game developers should've made the score integer an unsigned value)
@@somerandomgameranimator4481 With the fact that you won't get whammies, the lower money amounts outweigh the risk of the higher money amounts.
