To be fair ( I even think LTT said the same thing) they don't advertise themselves as a gaming desktop. though the wording could be better, because after analyzing Rich's screenshot it says "RGB gaming desktop keyboard...". So it's not saying the desktop is gaming, but the keyboard lol. Obviously since they had the word " gaming" it popped up into Rich's search results.
I think according to an Austin Evans video the cheapest gaming desktop was around $400 and was very small.

Maybe I'm weird, but there's some charm to weird refurbished computers and as Linus said it, keeping stuff out of a landfill is a good thing in itself. I have a refurbished Dell laptop, a kind of professional workstation that would cost obscene amounts of money new... And I absolutely love it. If Treasure Box validates the PCs and do basic refurbishing beside cosmetics, the only thing really "wrong" about these glittery abominations is the deceptive marketing. The tacky aestetic is pretty funny and a properly informed user can likely get a lot of utility out of them. :)

@@Joeasia1981 I'm daily driving a 1650, but I'd be scared with an optiplex getting unstable due to lack of power. You can always underclock though, also helps with cooling. :)

@@alchemik666 Most Optiplexes PSUs usually have ~100W spare under full load, assuming you only have KBM plugged in when testing the spare amount. I used a 1050 Ti(same power consumption as 1650), a secondary 5.25" ODD, and an external HDD on one of mine before giving it away. Never had a problem with it for the year and a half I had it.

Besides the glitter, these are standard business desktops from 2013. Complete work horse machines, but they have a tendency for their onboard graphics output to just die without warning. My company had about 40 of these, and they slowly started failing. Hopefully this desktops being sold keep going!

Actually not terrible deal if it's used as an updating Thin Client for a gaming center or if you have multiple gaming PC's. Would save on data and time.

Think positive Rich, if it's wired there's less latency..and smell has nothing to do with gaming. Maybe they ment retro gaming...if you get a 1050 or 1650 graphic card you can play current games at 1080p sorta at about 50 FPS ☹️

My first gaming pc was a prebuilt half decent it could run triple a games at 60 with some tweaks until I bought newer pieces and built a better one using the prebuilt case.

I had the same CPU 2 PCs ago. At the time and keep in mind I had a dedicated graphics card it played well. Can't believe it is legal to sell that as a gaming PC.

This is criminal that companies get away with selling this trash to ppl. What sucks is there's gunna be a ton of ppl who buy this for their kids cuz they can't afford any better and also don't know any better and will get beat for the money they spend on this PC. Thank god there's a channel like yours that shedding some light on this scammer of a gaming PC. What sucks is they will sell a bunch of these this holiday season cuz so many families are hurting for cash with how bad the inflation is that ppl are looking for deals where ever they can find them and In doing so they end up getting robbed for hard earned cash they can't afford to lose. Keep up the hard work with exposing trash like this cuz it's really helping a lot of ppl out there not get robbed for their money
