A lot of people say today's characters of Corrie are feisty. But when you look back to the classic episodes there are just as many feisty characters including Len Fairclough, Elsie Tanner, Ena Sharples, Bet Lynch, Annie Walker.
lewis wise today's characters wouldn't hold a candle to the supreme len Elsie ena . Annie walker. ivy titlsey and vera. Fred gee.and Dave daker who played Gordon Lewis for 3 stints in the show in1981 and 1984 .they knew how to act and gave good entertainment. todays stars is all bad dialogue and yelling.
1:26 PC Alf Ventress from Heartbeat. In the 1960s, Len/Peter Adamson arrived in a big open posh car at our village fete to crown the May Queen, a very pretty young girl indeed. He was put in a little marquee to get ready, and us kids were peeping through the back of the tent. He said "she's a very attractive woman [that May Queen]". Later on he proceeded to publicly snog her face off on the float.
Funny how they had a violent builder in the show only recently, and it got hoards of backlash from viewers. Len Fairclough was a violent builder and he was in the show for 22 years!
@@corriearcade60That’s how it should of been done in the first place. Len a kiddy fiddling part time swimming instructor and Deirdre coming home after a night on the game with her hair all matted with Guy juice 😂😂😂😂

Len Fairclough was the original hardman of Coronation Street.

Actually I think the characters 20 years plus years ago generally where a lot stronger and fiesty to recent years.
