Hi Mr. Freeheart, thanks for sharing your videos with us all on TH-cam. I’ve watched a handful of videos from your catalogue over the past half-hour or so, and you’ve got a real knack for teaching! As a hobbyist artist, I truly appreciate teachers like you who provide tips and advice to beginner artists at no cost. Thank you for what you do!
Your comments are so kind! I've been learning for decades and I do have a lot to share. I love teaching and when a student is open, growing and expresses appreciation it means the world to me! Thank You! Jim
Hi! Thank you for this video. Your undercoating is not the boring part, but the most important one. Since you paint wet on wet, would you be so kind to explain what your undercoating contains? Thanks
Yes of course... My undercoating is done with my "Golden Open Acrylics" - Wonderfully slow drying! My Video on the "Top tips for acrylic painters" Below are some of these pointers TIPS FOR ACRYLIC PAINTING: 1.) Shade - stay out of the sun and wind somewhat. I use a beach umbrella most of the time using weights or rope to secure it to a couple of stable objects around me. 2.) Use slow-drying acrylics such as "Golden Open Acrylics" or "Slow-Dry Retardant mixed into the paints. 3.) Use a coverable palette and spray bottle to lightly mist paints with water in the mixing tray and palette and keep closed when possible. 4.) Paint quickly and use larger sized brushes (I even suggest using a timer to help remember to work quickly)
Thank you! I look forward to it. My beloved Isabey brushes have great bristles, but the handle always separates from the metal part - even brand new ones! I must find a new brand. I have to hot glue my brushes or else they fall apart in the middle of a painting! @@jimfreeheart

@@jimfreeheart Thank you for your explanation. I will follow your recommendation and will try Golden Open Acrylics to see how it goes. Regards!
Hi Jim! Thank you for the beautiful video! I wish I had watched this like 200 paintings ago! Which colors did you use to mix up the lowest sky color?
I will send you my list of colors, palette and brushes that I use. New video for all to come soon! Aloha, Julia!
