    I'm glad you made the distinction between what INRA and Salvation did before and what we are doing now. It would be great if we could just stop fighting, but we can't, so we need to do our best. In my mind, giving everyone a chance to escape and removing a source of Thargpower (manpower but more Thargoid) is a quick way to reduce the amount of fighting while reducing casualties and fatalities.

      You may be onto something there, but if so, then it's terrible writing on Frontier's part. In all the previous audio logs, the Wytch was shown to be a xenophobe above all else. Those cells he was taking to stay alive, aren't better than being in the Guardian network. With the power to control its A.I., Salvation is coming back, with the A.I. to eliminate the Thargoids. That was his goal all along, get control of the Monolith. While we have eyes on the Thargoids, I bet somewhere Salvation is doing something and we havnt come across it. I'm Cmdr Lordhavmercy btw.

    I don't care about Thargoid lives. Not one bit. But i do care about human lives and humanity in general. INRA's only crime was screwing over Jameson. That makes them bad guys, but their willingness to deploy the mycoid virus is A-OK in my book. (I respect that Jameson would disagree.)
    Salvation and Azimuth, however, are monstrous. They're mass murderers who should have the names of every person lost on the Alexandria and in the Cornsar system cut into them, then surrendered to the 'Goids. Hell, by actively sabotaging Aegis, they showed that their goal wasn't to defeat the Thargoids or protect humanity, but rather to feed their own narcissistic bloodlust.

    • @Rainbro359
      @Rainbro359 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yup. Aegis are at best just a puppet of the powers, they escalated the initial war drastically with stuff like Operation "shoot everything that moves" Andronicus and then acted surprised when the Thargoids retaliated (against Aegis stations, in Thargoid territory, full of stolen Thargoid tech transmitting signals...)
      They talk a lot about understanding the Thargoids, but their actions are always of war. When we finally got proof that, yeah, the Thargoids were attacking because of the invasion of the Pleiades, Aegis just claimed it was "our space" and carried on regardless, invading Witch Head as well the moment the space oil ran out.
      They're also the main suspects for luring Thargoids into the bubble to trigger further attacks, with covert convoys of Thargoid tech and transmitters.

    Huh? Where is it said that the FSD was reverse engineered from Thargoid tech? If anything, it's implied they THEY took it from US when the Titans arrived, to better be able to track human ships down. It's been a long known fact that Thargoids didn't NEED anything like supercruise before then, because of how accurately they can navigate Witchspace. And we had hyperdrives capable of jumping between systems long before the first appearance of the Thargoids, so I doubt that part is from them either, especially considering how much worse our version is than theirs.
    I really enjoyed the video as always, this line just caught me off guard.

      fsd was reverse engineered by alliance from goids, however ftl travel was a thing before, using same engines that capital ships do. The reason fsd is used on small ships, is its size and charge speed. Fsd however cant be used for capital ships, it would be too ineffective compared to tritium engines

    • @cmdrdyland
      @cmdrdyland 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's the fundamental reason for Sirius Corporation's growth & ownership of the Lucifer planet. Alliance originally had plans and the nonhuman equipment to produce the modern FSD, but the Club transferred the project to the Sirius Corporation last second as I understand it. Their dominance as a corporation, nearly bordering a superpower state, comes from their involvement in this process. • @salenstormwing
      @salenstormwing 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Сталкер-ь2х That's true. That also took almost a year before any of that new equipment made it to sale though. If they wanted to make players WANT to fight Thargs, they really had to rely on players wanting to do it. For me, AX combat seemed like a turn off from what I wanted since normal space combat was already an issue I was running into with what I did have.
      I know the devs had a lot on their hands, but between Thargs and the poor performance of Space Legs at the exact same time, I didn't really have a desire to get wrapped up in what felt like a game of futility.
      But that's just my opinion.

    • @NoXion100
      @NoXion100 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Fighting the Thargoids is completely optional. You'll never even see one if you steer clear of the relative handful of systems where they're present. I avoided AX combat entirely until a few days ago. Too specialised and separated off from the rest of the game to entice me to try. Then certain AX modules began being sold for credits, and since I have enough of those I gave it a go and you know what, it's not as bad as I thought. But if you want to carry on giving the angry space flowers a miss, then the galaxy, hell even just the bubble, is more than big enough to accommodate that.
      I didn't even get into the human PvE combat until I had at least a thousand hours under my belt and had undertaken an expedition to the other side of the galaxy and back. I amassed enough credits to buy a carrier, plus years of upkeep for it, and still have billions left over for rebuys. I'm still not liking the look of ship-to-ship PvP combat outside of CQC/Arena; maybe that will change with the advent of PowerPlay 2.0. Even if it doesn't and PvP remains a no-go, there's still loads of other things to do.
      I hope you reconsider at some point because I feel like Elite Dangerous has a lot to offer, even if one might not enjoy everything in it.

      @salenstormwing 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NoXion100 I'll be truthful, part of me just wanted them to add some stuff to parts of the game I was interested in. Mostly, the ships. I'll probably be back as soon as I find out where to go to get the new Python 2. The Python was a fun ship to fly, and I'd love an updated version of it.
