Sounds like the process has changed for lasik, got mine 20+ years ago and still enjoy seeing without glasses or contacts. When I got it, I turned down the Valium, it was storming outside and the power went out right before it was my turn. They had generators so they could finish anyone being operated on but they didn’t want to start any new procedures during a power outage. Took that Valium the next time 😂
You're lucky. I had my lasik 22 years ago and was life changing. I was blind as a bat before. However, mine started to reverse 2-3 years ago so now I'm back in the contacts, but my vision is still WAY better than it was before surgery. I'm 57 now and doc won't do the enhancement because I have a minuscule very slow growing cataract in one eye. So they say gotta make sure you have a thick enough cornea for that surgery even though corneas are fine now lol. My thought is fix my eyes now while I'm alive, I might be dead before I ever need cataract surgery. Need to find a new eye surgeon

You asked about books to read I suggest Chad Robichaux - Saving Aziz...It's about him going to Afganistan after the withdrawal to get his interpreter out. He saw he could get special forces retired from all branches together and save more people.

If your looking at montana or Wyoming as a possible place to move, I would honestly suggest doing a fair amount of research into the area you are looking into, and possibly a couples visits, or you will undoubtedly up being one of the countless go-backers. Nice state, beautiful scenery, but its hard living for many if they don't have sufficient experience and support. Not trying to be negative but I live a ways outside helena, which is small for a capital to begin with, and it seems every time they fill a new development, it empties by the end of winter and demolish half of it for something else. My area alone had 2k new resident move here last year and less than five hundred stayed. In town might be easier, but its just town.

I know a sheep rancher over there and he was telling me it's the fourth time that's happened since he moved out there in the sixties.
