Well, this is almost like a photo album. I wish every Elvis movie had such a photo album thanks for introducing this it's wonderful for any Elvis fan library.

.✨ .Jerry Reed gave the best interviews because he wouldn’t hold anything back . .I saw the one where he mentions meeting Elvis for the first time (I don’t know which year, it could have been in Vegas during the early ‘70’s), but he said in the interview how he couldn’t NOT watch Elvis . .Reed said: “ he was the prettiest man I’d ever seen . .”

I remember when Jerry Reed said that, and he said also how Elvis used to go into a beer joint and at that young age surrounded by bodyguards. Jerry Read his own words.

So many reasons. Probably the passion in his performances, vocal ability, charisma, and that he was a good person/into God.

$145 is a steep price for a picture/coffee table book!! FYI Pal Granlund (author) has also been involved in several other Elvis books such as the Elvis at Madison Square Garden and The 50th anniversary collectors edition of that’s the way it is both of which go for a pretty penny. So who knows this book may also increase in value
I saw him in the garden the Friday night performance, check my comment in Elvis Medison Square Garden Friday night, it'd still be at the top.

I never regret these BIG books
It looks good. But, I am more interested in his day to day life. I just finished the book that ended with: “ a lonely life ends on Elvis Presley Boulevard” as a headline of the Memphis Press front page. 😥 very interesting and yet sad story. The book took me all the way inside like if I was part of the story. I am an emotional person though 💕🙏
I was disappointed when I found out there was no commentary along with it but at least I can look at the photos…Increase my Elvis collection lol

The only book that you want from the first day he was born and to his last days is called 'Elvis' By Albert Goldman in which he took years to write and with over a thousand he interviewed..He also wrote a follow-up called 'The Last 24 hours' In what went on in those last 3 days, The author also tells us in what went on inside closed doors both in Graceland and Hollywood. finally, when the first book came out it made the front pages of Rolling Stones Magazine.
@@ElvisistheMan_ I would be too. I like when there's some commentary even in a book of photographs, kind of telling us what went on behind the scenes.
There were so many photo and picture books that have been coming out throughout the years about Elvis but none have been able to write the persona behind closed doors as 'Albert Goldman has, and what went on inside close doors and ...If you can bear it.

If you really want a another cool book called Emeralds Art he painted Elvis pics for Graceland back ground pics for displays .

@@metrokaraoke yes ive seen the robe once on a display on a train once called the Freedom train .use to go city to city with cool memorabilia. I seen pics too of the meeting .an when he wore it .

This is a great book. I understand what you mean,, you would like tp read notes along with the pictures, but these are beautiful photos and pictures on the set of Love Me Tender.The photos are in color and black and white. The book even has a record of the songs and outtakes. The FTD books are great, with stories and photos. And the FTD CD's with all those rare outtakes. From what you show on this video it looks like a great book.

That's a great front cover ...he looked better with his natural hair colour...especially when he hit forty ...it looked to harsh ....I'll buy it just to drool over the photos..lol ...he did some great tracks in the fifties ...why don't you like them?

As a lifelong fan, I love FTD. I really enjoy their cd and vinyl releases, but the few FTD book/cd sets I’ve purchased have not seemed worth it to me for what they charge and sometimes get. I’m starting to be of the opinion that staying with the music, which is the most important thing, is the safest bet.
I just recieved Careless Love by Peter Guralnick, what's your opinión of this book? And about Last train to Memphis?
I read the second part of it. It was the most eye-opening book about Elvis at the time. That I can remember really. I read most of the first too I believe.

The Reno Brothers by Erik Lorentzen Is a much better book, but you don't get a CD with it.

I know the photos are cool of Elvis but I never like photos really of Elvis wearing clothes that he didn't pick himself his own clothes and an irate Love Me Tender as the worst film ever acted in his acting was bad in this film he looked good but it was wearing clothes that he wouldn't have picked himself the CDs are called that they've got some probably that we've never heard before but most of it is been heard before but I'll find it would bad like you said having no commentary or story whatever because you can't beat the book Elvis 56 I think that tells the whole story and every following detail
Yes I probably will get that book. I passed out for the first came out for some reason but I think that would be the better 56 commentary. This book is good because he looks so good in it and the CDs or at least something. It’s just nice to have.
Alan, how well could you act if you never took acting lessons? I bet you would be kicked off the set. As for his clothes, they are not supposed to be trendy but suit the time period as a young farmer..they did not wear their most colorful Sunday best to plow fields or slop the pigs or muck the stables in 1865.

I am presently reading Becky Yancey's book about her time as Elvis' confidant as a long time secretary.So far, a good read. His blonde hair..Ray Walker of the Jordanaires tells about seeing Elvis in about 67 (he had come from his Circle G ranch) at a record session, having not seen him for a while. He said when Elvis entered, they were awe struck..He had a golden tan ,his hair, boots, and clothes were the same color..described as a color of a fawn. He and Gordon Stoker said this was the best looking Elvis they ever saw.
