Hi! Honestly it depends on your set up. Regardless of what you use, it is important that your teaching area is well-lit, with no shadows. You want your face to be clearly visible. Using bright white or daylight bulbs usually works best. A ring light can be an easily solution if your lighting is not great. I use a portable light called 'Lume Cube' when needed myself.
I have taught public school for 2 years in music. I just applied for a position with itutor group for a fine arts teacher! Why can't I find any videos on teachers that do fine arts? :(
Hi! It sounds like you applied to 'itutor' not 'iTutorGroup'. They are 2 different companies. Itutorgroup is an ESL only company, whereas itutor does a variety of subjects.

Hi! No problem! :) There are several companies that do hire non-native English speakers. But, you must demonstrate fluency as well as a clear and neutral accent. When doing any component of an application, ensure you are showing these things - write grammatically correct and complete sentences and speak very clearly and confidently, for example. There are lots of options for companies - try Native Camp, Acadsoc, or First Future.
Hi Kelly, I had my interview yesterday, I was told I would get an email within 24 hours however it has been 24 hours and I have not received one, I did log in to my application page and it says we regret to inform you that we do not have an available position suitable for you at the money we will let you know if a position becomes available. Does his this mean tutor group aren’t hiring any more teachers or that I was just unsuccessful with my interview? I am confused because it went really well. also i did not receive an e-mail
Hi! So sorry to hear of your result; sadly that just means you did not pass the interview. :( An email does go out as well, but I often find it is delayed. The website updates as soon as a decision has been made though.
I have to say that this was a very informative video! I have to say that reviews have been my main concern based on the fact that I am new at this. Applying to multiple companies is something I will do. I have a degree but not a bachelors so I am limited as well. Your opinion on italki professional teachers? Love the videos! ❤️
Hi! Thanks for your message! Definitely do try to apply to multiple companies - super important to not put all your eggs in one basket. Not having a bachelors degree can be limiting, but there are still quite a few options. I don't know much about iTalki honestly, as I haven't worked with them before.
