The term "try or Tri" comes from the days when a score (Touch down) was worth three points as apposed to it now being 5 points. For some obscure reason "Fi" just does not work.🤣🤣😂
Most points, I'm gonna give you one guess who was at the losing end (The commentator said it at the end, go search US vs NZ - soldier field match). So you might not want to watch it. Best games, ZA vs NZ for sure. But the hardest games, usually are not very entertaining. The best to do is, to watch a league, and choose a team, and support them.
Try = 5pts Then you get a conversation kick at the poles (perpendicular to the try scoring position) to add 2pts - so it's better to score a try closer to the poles if possible. If you get awarded a penalty you can choose to kick to poles for 3pts (if you choose not to kick, there are other alternatives to continue play) And then there is a drop-goal: which can happen randomly during play by any player if you feel you are in range.
Dude I'm a bit lazy now to type out instructions but I trust some of my fellow rugby lovers probably also southern hemisphere will oblige. Maybe in another video. Welcome to the club! I'm from South Africa, sorry it was such a one sided game. If it makes you feel better that 2015 tournament we lost to Japan first time ever (the ones on the losing side of the biggest points difference in a rugby game you looked up haha ;) ). But we were at our worst until atleast 2018. You really should see any rugby games of ours against New Zealand especially.. Over the years but before 2018 we were usually on the losing end and New Zealand were the best ever. Since the coach we have now (and have had since 2018) we have the World Cup twice in a row. Other games to watch are the 2019 world cup final south Africa V England (where it all started) and the France South Africa game from the world cup 2023 last year. World cups aren't like Superbowls every year. They every 4 years so like the Olympics of rugby.
I can answer this it's because American Football started as rugby, in fact many forms of rugby were played in even UK at that time and Harvard amongst other ivy league schools adopted the most popular one from the town of "Rugby". The rules are written down in those universities archives almost identical to rugby. Where they describe the act of scoring at "touching down the ball". I guess you can understand now, like many nonsensical in modern application or latin words we use today, how it came to be they still use it.
Watch any South Africa (Springboks) vs New Zealand (All Blacks) Match the two best teams in the world with a over 100 year rivalry.

Why do you call it a touchdown when you DONT touch it down?
