In 1994 I was invited to take my video camera on tour and film Buzzcocks, this was filmed on the 1st day and is previously unseen footage of Kurt Cobain meeting the band backstage before the show at Pavilhão do Grupo Dramático e Sportivo de Cascais Portugal, Febuary 6, 1994

I was there, I was 15 years old. I got there around 11 am and saw Dave riding a bike outside. I stood in the front row and touched Kurt when he walked on stage, because he passed near the grid. One of the best days of my life. Still have the ticket till this day. 2 months later...well you know, one of the saddest days..

People become obsessed with an artist, spend countless hours watching, reading and listening to and about them and develop this weird idea that because they identify themselves with that person that they know what that person thought and felt. Doesn't matter how much they know about someone they will never really know how they really felt. It's really irritating when I read that arguments where people talk as if they know for a fact that what they're saying is true.

Kurt looks happy. I still don't know what really happened when he was found dead.
He was happy. He was at his most happiest at this time in his life. No more stomach pains and was able to eat food without the pain and was laying off the drugs. He would continue to use heroin ... but he was slowing his use of it immensely. I'm sure had he been given the chance, he would have gotten off it completely on his own. But Courtney was using guilt and pressure to force him, and an intervention which just made him feel horrible, embarrassed and alienated, even going as far as saying to him that he dropped the baby ... which is probably what led to ... anyway yes, he was happy here. At least he got peace and joy towards the end of his life before Courtney ruined it.
Damien Kobain Maybe he did drop their baby. Quit romanticizing people like they're unable to be guilty of being human. There's nothing wrong with staging an intervention. It's ridiculous blaming anyone besides the person who pulled the trigger.
It's sad that he died, and that he was so depressed. It would be nice if he had had more help and support, but nobody killed him but himself, and nobody drugged him but himself.
Let me also add to this for context, that I don't think Kurt Cobain any worse of a person for his actions, I feel horrible that it happened and wish he hadn't chosen that exit in life. All I'm saying is that his actions are his own, even if he can track the source of his emotional pain to other people.
I just wish he was still here. He was really inspiring.

There's lots of footage that proves that Cobain was in a terrible state in 1994. Even this footage. Look at the close-up of his face at 2:44. Look at his old pale, damaged skin. That man is not 40 or 50, but only in his 20s!
And don't forget the overdose in Rome.
Cobain agreed to go to rehab, apparently had a happy time there, playing with Frances, but fooled everyone (including himself) and ran away, back to... heroin!
Cobain didn't want to be married anymore. Cobain didn't want to be in Nirvana anymore. Cobain wanted heroin, heroin and (guess what?) more heroin!

I love how this footage looks like something somebody had for a long time, and in recent years just decided to upload it, without any editing. It doesn't look like something that belongs to any kind of magazine, or tv channel or official documentary ...which is awesome.
you can't tell what's going on inside a person's head and heart. "He was not suicidal," and "he looked happy" are meaningless comments. Even depressed people have moments of happiness. A person can be feeling ok, then become despondent really fast. HE WAS MURDERED

I was 13, when I heard kurt cobain singing lithium live on MTV,, Cobain's voice was very rough and had this raspy sound to it that made you just want to listen to his music with a brilliant lyrics. + His good looks! that so lovely to watch playing on stage with left handed guitar!! so rare!! too sad he's already gone.. :( I miss u kurt! rest in peace!

I also see how he changed as a person. he acts like a mature adult in the later videos. Before he was like a punk rock kid. I dont think he realized that he would eventually lose touch with the very thing that defined him. people change and their interests change and they grow up. He got tired of it all, and he was done.

I just finished the book Heavier than Heaven about Kurt. It seems like his drug use was way worse than anyone knew. I still listen to Nirvana everyday since I was 12 in 1992. The guy was amazing

He was so GREAT; I hope in his mind while living he knew how much he influenced/impacted people. He could easily be related to not just his genius musicianship. His behavavior, His view against the ways of the world, judgement it's like he was the most down to earth rockstar EVER.
He is just wonderful.

This video was shot in Portugal just two months before Kurt died. You could see I wasn't himself anymore. I was born 4 years later exactly on the day he died and one of my biggest pains is that I will never be able to witness the magic of a Nirvana show.
I miss so much the times without phones and all, people connecting and bonding and being creative. ☹️ Rip dear Kurt ♥️

I am 1 of the blessed ones to have seen them before they got huge,It was in PROVIDENCE,R.I. @ CLUB BABYHEAD, NEVERMIND got released on SEPT 23 1991 and they came to CLUB BABYHEAD SEPT 25th,it was a small venue no more than 200 or so people.ALL the SEATTLE bands made it thru that venue,it had alot of history from ,PEARL Jam and SOUNDGARDEN AND all in between I can't remember AIC coming there.IT WAS LOUD and kurt was in good form.It's on TH-cam just audio.THE video is floating around THAT was a cool week they went to CONNETICUT and then played CRISCO twister at the AXIS in BOSTON.Fun times,I remember when they closed CLUB BABYHEAD down people were trying to get a piece of the hangout area where all the bands hung out dressing rm now and during, WoW,IF them walls could talk they would scream

I don't think he looks happy. he always looks to me like he really enjoys being around people for a little while and likes to talk, but not for very long. I want to go give him a hug while watching this, you can see how sad he is when you look in his eyes :(
Ugh ... he is not sad! He's totally fine here! That's one thing Kurt always wondered about, why did people always think he was brooding and sad when he wasn't. Do people see him and project things onto him? He was at his happiest in his life here. Favorite thing of his was to go to shows and meet musicians he admired. Which is what he's doing here. He's totally happy here. Course Courtney and all that pressure to get him off his drug of choice, is what brought him down. She even used his daughter against him, that's pretty low. Used his friends and family against him ... till he felt like he had no one and nothing to live for. She was really stupid for doing that to him, and it directly led to his death. But she herself was all blown out on pills, so she had no room to judge him at all. Kurt should have seen that. That she was worse than him, at least his family loved him, her dad can't stand her, and who knows whatever became of her mother.... anyway ... he was happy here in this vid, probably cause Courtney ain't there name-dropping and ruining the moment for him! :D

Thank you :) that means a lot to me. I find that when I am passionate about something or someone, I tend to go all out, while keeping an open mind. Kurt and nirvana meant a lot to me growing up., and I honestly do not think I would have made it through the "formative" years without his art, and I adore courtney as well. I sometimes wonder if people like me are the reason he choose the path he did, and that bothers me to no end.
Here his energy is so off, you can FEEL it, and see it here....then I think I do not have the right to feel as strongly as I do about them because I do not know them, but I've read, watched so many of their things over the years that it just spoke to me, when kurts voice starts singing it's like a trace almost of feelings and emotions unlike I've ever felt and I know That is odd for some random girl to think, feel, nd to spend so much time online and other wise talking about kurt and courtney 25 (it sure does not seem that long lol) but kurt seemed

Well, it's been around since 2010, but sometimes ppl forget they have things like this, or they didn't have the opportunity until they got a TH-cam channel-there are a plethora of reasons why & there will always be new things showing up as ppl unearth them from storage or closets. Lets just hope there's a lot more to be found!

As grateful as people may now be for the existence of this intimate footage, I can't help but feel sorry for Kurt in this video, as you're kinda treating him like some zoo attraction. He's just sitting backstage wanting to have a chat with the band, and some weird guy has got a camera trained on him the whole time. Surely that made him feel slightly uncomfortable and infringed. Do you not think its things like this, amongst others, that led to him feeling isolated and unable to live normally?
