Thanks Dave - just watched three in a row. Great to see the progress and the locos running too. Never bored when watching your videos - thank you for sharing.
What better way to spend an Easter Sunday watching another update love the stills at the end especially like the video and still shot down through the station with all the signals looking so real cheers for sharing. Kevin
The stills in this video are all frame grabs from the camcorder, so the quality is very poor. Pleased you enjoyed the video, and spotting the different angle shots. It is quite a while since I filmed a running day, so It was a pleasure to film and edit this film.
That is 22:57 I totally enjoyed watching this is one of the best layouts I have seen on TH-cam, I watched it in Full screen and with headphones one and it was Brilliant.. Hope to see more like it very soon..Thanks for sharing keep them coming please..
Thank you very much indeed for your lovely comment, and I certainly will keep them coming for as long as I can. There a loads more of this layout on my channel (unless you have seen them all). Very pleased indeed you have enjoyed the video, and thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it.
If it is your first visit, you will be truly amazed. The layout is getting better all the time, it is looking really good. Thank you for your comment, and pleased you liked the video.
Dave Cooper In Newcastle too..! I liked the V2's with or without names, stylish and powerfull loco, could do any job..some body once made a photo of a named V2 in 1954 or 1955 on Platform 8 in the Central station, I was on the opposite platform and remember the photographer, the pic appeared in a Bradford Barton book about the pacifics in the North East.. I just made the shot.. :)
DD1942 1954...I would be 9 years old, but of course steam was very much alive at that time. Wonderful years, lovely memories....life was so much more relaxed in those days.
It is a very interesting book that, but I wasn't on the scene then (10 years ago). I have been going along there for 5 years now, and officially filming the layout for around 4 years now.
Well not really, the lighting can be very different all round the layout. I have to work like hell in the editing stage adjusting the light balance all through the film, so that it conforms to look the same all the way through. Sometimes I struggle to do this, so convert it to b&w or sepia.....cheating!! Thank you for your comment, appreciated.
Dave thanks for another great video. I look forward to seeing new trains and layout progress with each. It appears the trains are operated at high speeds... is that the case or just a consequence of the close ups / tight angles? Is there are track plan? Thanks to all involved...keep them coming please. cheers john sydney australia
You were right first time, the trains really do operate at high speeds....with a FULL rake of either coaches or wagons as well. There was a track plan in the early stages (10 years ago), but this was soon modified and changed. As far as I know, there is no track plan as it is laid out at the moment. So pleased you are enjoying the videos from so far away. Thank you for your comment John, and hope you keep watching....there is quite a lot to come yet.
Awesome!! However, while utilizing O gauge and your liking for detail, how is it that the locomotives have no footplate crew, the coaches no customers, the signal boxes no signal men, the stations no travellers nor station staff? Take care...
I hope to one day be in a position to be able to build a model railway,I found out the Hampshire constabulary made a mistake and covered it up,and also the electric companies already make free electricity using magnets opposed polarity to push pistons -thus turning turbines,so as you can imagine I'm having terrible troubles with freemasons! (google my name and see the lies in the news papers)anyway, the quality of these layouts is fantastic! I read somewhere that these are a little too clinically clean and neat and tidy-shiny, thus losing a tad of realism, I kind of agree... But who am I to have an opinion! if you were in a lads pub and said you were in to model railways, people might laugh ,but if they saw this and other layouts, they would have no problem apologising, they are undeniably works of art, if someone offered me a genuine Picasso or a real work of any appreciated master artist or this for example model railway.... I'd choose the painting, then as much as I liked the painting ,id sell it and buy a house etcetera.. And build an enormous model railway.. If the conditions of my imaginary offer were you can't sell the things you were offered, and it was the monalisa its self or a model railway,I'd pick the model railway no problem! I think its a beautiful hobby.
+Nigel Perren : Well.....I don't think I have ever had a comment of this quality before, beautifully composed and written. A little bit deep at times, but the English language spoken as it should be. Many thanks indeed for your comment, and delighted you feel the way you do regarding model railways. Of course I understand it is not everyone's idea of a hobby, and I can respect that, so I just wish people who have no interest, would not criticise people who do.
Thanks Dave - just watched three in a row. Great to see the progress and the locos running too. Never bored when watching your videos - thank you for sharing.
Wow!!!! What a great Easter present...thanks Dave.
A Happy Easter to you and all concerned with this wonderful project.
Very kind of you....thank you, and a Happy Easter to you too. If the film made your day, then it has made my day as well. Thank you for the comment.

Thank you for the comment, and I agree with you on the V2. There always seemed to be a V2 on standby at Doncaster when I went spotting.

Great camera work.
Kind of gives you the feel of the real thing.
Wonderful stuff Dave. I have been reading Pete's book "just like the real thing" and relating the concept behind the railway to your videos.
It is a very interesting book that, but I wasn't on the scene then (10 years ago). I have been going along there for 5 years now, and officially filming the layout for around 4 years now.

Thank you for your comment, and of course, pleased you are enjoying the videos. We are all very pleased you are finding the `how to` videos useful.
