Super Black Luigi Transformation Final Smashes are meh, but, aside from that, Masked Dedede isn't conceptually that much stronger than Dedede. Dedede is also almost always a final boss anyway, which is a part Masked Dedede fills because of DDD's underwhelming role as the first boss in Super Star (Ultra). Plus, you'd have to have Masked Dedede recolors for it to not look really awkward with every outfit that isn't default and his moveset is more of the same, aside from his crazy-long spin that would be pretty easy to avoid. That's just the reasons not to do it, though. Someone could probably make a half-way decent attempt at coding that if they wanted to, but someone like me wouldn't be too keen on it. Or maybe I'm just a pessimist. Maybe I just want a FS that I find useful and practical over fanservice. IDK.

from what I've researched a while back this statement applies to all Kirby games except Dreamland, SuperStar, and SuperStar Ultra (Dedede either being cloned, possessed, or hypnotized when he's the antagonist/villain). SuperStar's Spring Breeze is just a remake of Dreamland and SuperStar Ultra's Revenge of the King is a sequel to Spring Breeze, so you can technically experience all of his true villainous appearances in one game (SSU).

(These are in order of the video as always) -Dedede, while often times helpful and misunderstood in his brash efforts to help, has done many villainous things. I would have appreciated you mentioning this attack's sort-of legacy, since it's actually one of his most powerful attacks (he normally gets wrecked by stunlock, but that move goes through quite a bit of damage and deals a ton in the Kirby series). -It's a bit of nothing, but you kind of just glossed over the Big Gay Dance. Minions, dancing, something? dedede is only actually the enemy in the first game. In all the other ones he's either on the side or being controlled by a stronger force. In Triple Deluxe, the initial goal is actually to save him when he gets kidnapped.

I don't really see Dedede as an antagonist he was only in the first game (and Super Star but his appearence there is only a remake of the first game so that barely counts) and he was it for some selfish child motivation but apart from that he's like a hero he catches Nightmare in the Fountain of Dreams to protect Dream Land he helps Kirby to save the world multiple times more notorius ones are in Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards and Kirby's Return to Dream Land and the rest of the times he fights Kirby is for being possesed but he's relationship with him is that one of a good rivalry between friends. Also how you doubt about Dedede being cool? He's an alien penguin with a bathrobe and a giant hammer with kawaii followers and who is a king only because he said it. Also as a curiosity his trophy in Melee says he learned to fly like Kirby after he lost to him in the first game it's in fact a good detail of continuity between the games because in Kirby's Dream Land he couldn't fly but in Kirby's Adventure he can.

It's funny how you say "yes, kids, Kirby had an anime" when Kirby Right Back at Ya was my childhood. I remember playing through Subspace, this had to be when I was eight, so 2008, and I kept waiting for Tiff and Tuff or Escargoon to pop up. They never did. But I always really appreciated how they hired either the same or a similar sounding voice actor to Meta Knight in the anime to voice Meta Knight in Brawl. That deep, sexy, Spanish accent.

I play about as much Kirby as you do (I have the racing game as well), but I find Dedede memorable mainly due to Brawl In The Family. He was quite arguably the star of the whole thing (no pun intended). Though, then again, that was due to his presence in Brawl itself, so whether I'd find him memorable if not for that, I dunno. Though, I guess that would be the case for quite a few of Smash's roster. I barely recognized Kirby's name the first time I was told he was in Melee, and I'd never heard of some of Nintendo's more iconic characters like Link et al or Samus before playing it. In any case, I'm glad he made it into Brawl on, if only because I still always get a chuckle when I remember, "We gotta get that Kirby."
When I was about 7 or 8, I got the wii game “Kirby’s 20th anniversary.” It had a bunch of older Kirby games on it and extra challenges from Kirby’s return to dream land. It also had the English version of the anime. It was a surprisingly good show.

dedede is only actually the enemy in the first game. In all the other ones he's either on the side or being controlled by a stronger force. In Triple Deluxe, the initial goal is actually to save him when he gets kidnapped.

I don't really see Dedede as an antagonist he was only in the first game (and Super Star but his appearence there is only a remake of the first game so that barely counts) and he was it for some selfish child motivation but apart from that he's like a hero he catches Nightmare in the Fountain of Dreams to protect Dream Land he helps Kirby to save the world multiple times more notorius ones are in Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards and Kirby's Return to Dream Land and the rest of the times he fights Kirby is for being possesed but he's relationship with him is that one of a good rivalry between friends. Also how you doubt about Dedede being cool? He's an alien penguin with a bathrobe and a giant hammer with kawaii followers and who is a king only because he said it. If that isn`t cool I don't know what it is then xD

Also as a curiosity his trophy in Melee says he learned to fly like Kirby after he lost to him in the first game it's in fact a good detail of continuity between the games because in Kirby's Dream Land he couldn't fly but in Kirby's Adventure he can.

It's funny how you say "yes, kids, Kirby had an anime" when Kirby Right Back at Ya was my childhood. I remember playing through Subspace, this had to be when I was eight, so 2008, and I kept waiting for Tiff and Tuff or Escargoon to pop up. They never did. But I always really appreciated how they hired either the same or a similar sounding voice actor to Meta Knight in the anime to voice Meta Knight in Brawl. That deep, sexy, Spanish accent.

I play about as much Kirby as you do (I have the racing game as well), but I find Dedede memorable mainly due to Brawl In The Family. He was quite arguably the star of the whole thing (no pun intended). Though, then again, that was due to his presence in Brawl itself, so whether I'd find him memorable if not for that, I dunno.
Though, I guess that would be the case for quite a few of Smash's roster. I barely recognized Kirby's name the first time I was told he was in Melee, and I'd never heard of some of Nintendo's more iconic characters like Link et al or Samus before playing it. In any case, I'm glad he made it into Brawl on, if only because I still always get a chuckle when I remember, "We gotta get that Kirby."
Now in ultimate, his final smash is so much better. So problem solved

When I was about 7 or 8, I got the wii game “Kirby’s 20th anniversary.” It had a bunch of older Kirby games on it and extra challenges from Kirby’s return to dream land. It also had the English version of the anime. It was a surprisingly good show.

I think the only game where Dedede actually did something bad (the whole stealing food thing) was the very first game. Ever since then it's always been one of the following scenarios:
-Dedede is unwittingly possessed by the forces of darkness and Kirby has to beat him up to save him
-Dedede is actually trying to save the day but Kirby mistakes him for a bad guy and beats him up
-Dedede is just chilling around doing nothing but Kirby mistakes him for a bad guy and beats him up
-Dedede is tired as shit of Kirby mistaking him for a bad guy and beating him up, tries to teach Kirby a lesson, naturally Kirby just beats him up anyways
