Love the false tenon idea. Nice video. Happy wife, happy life! And if woodturning can make her happy too, all the better.

Great penguins, Chris! Please tell me why you use a semicircular lathe chisel for grooving large diameters, and often use a flat carpentry chisel for the nose and eyes? Is it because the chisel removes less material?

@DennisDolan-fl3mw didn't I say the same thing but in a different way... let me explain more just so you know what I'm up against...I do in fact like the music, it's copyright free music supplied by youtube creators, then the writer decides to deny free copyright so the royalties for my video go to the music writer...but of a scam if you ask me. The only reason I keep the penguin video up is because I still get comments even though it's one of my first video's. I make all kinds of woodturning and woodworking projects so have a look at some of my other video's. I'm hoping to do ducks and owls just as soon as I perfect the methods...also I'm still at the stage where I can reply to all watchers comments ...so feel free to ask if you have any more questions ...cheers 😀

because I watched your video, and others, many times over, I was finally able to turn a penguin. Isn't as nice as yours but it's a beginning. My first attempt will be fire wood. This one turned out OK. If I knew how to post a picture of it I would. I'm sorry @peterkramer4143 thought I was trashing your video. Far from it. I was not at all, I just want to learn so I ask for as much direction as I can get. Thank you for your video showing me and others how to turn a penguin.
