      @@HeatingGeek I've had visions of having a 4 wheeled hand cart/trailer. Parking at the edge of the city centre then walking down the road (any side of it) with the hand cart, ignoring traffic lights & one way streets to pick up say a microwave or washing machine or whateva !
      Being a pedestrian even with a cart, you rule !

    You don’t like seeing bare cores but you don’t mind using non compliant test leads as specified by GS38 which is a minimum of 4mm exposed tip (recommended 2mm, spring loaded), a good helpful video though.

    Cheers mate good stuff. I have a three way Honeywell. Spindle feels free with head off. Warm rads when heating hot water tank. Watching it drive to close with the tank switched on it seems sluggish and doesn't seem to get to the end of the gear track, it will if encouraged a little with a driver. Seems fast driving the other way so I guess it's leaving a crack open to warm rads. Would you suggest changing the head only or reckon there might be a fault inside the valve? Cheers

    • @HeatingGeek
      @HeatingGeek  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mircea I know the motor is constantly trying to turn. I also know they get hotter when kept like this. Im not educated in electronics and cant give you factual info. I can only tell you what I have noticed in the last 20 years of working with them as a gas engineer. As they get older the thick grease leaks out of them with the heat and they begin to get noisy and seize.

    And then 12 months later same thing happens again. I’ve had a plumber change mine twice and now it’s broke again!
    No way am I paying another plumber to quickly free up the valve and install a new motor when it’s clearly the valve that’s causing the motor to break! I’m just going to change the whole thing and be done with it which is what the plumber should have done in the first place.
    I understand why though, because it’s fkin ball ache and most plumbers just want a quick fix and outta there!

    • @MMKLYH
      @MMKLYH 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did ir work after he fitted it, therefore why are you complaining, probabky wanted to save you miney as draining and refilling a sytem, venting radiators, making sure theres no airlocks, letting heatinf reach temp all takes time which costs you money and takes us his time

    • @TheMuddatrucker
      @TheMuddatrucker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MMKLYH money wasn’t an issue and I told him just to change the whole valve and motor but like I already said, plumbers don’t want that sort of work, they prefer easy jobs that are quick.
      Took me a full afternoon but I changed it myself,inc draining/refill/vent - plumbers are overrated 😁
