    Thanks for giving love to some of your games that have not recently arrived on your doorstep. 😉. I wish more creators did shout outs to their favorite games that might not be on the BGG hotness list.

    Dominion blew my mind when I played it. It is the game that got me into the board game hobby.

      I played Thunderstone right after and it replaced Dominion for me but I had a very similar experience. Exploring the possibilities in those first deck builders was an amazing experience.

    "culling" your deck is the only term I've ever heard of for getting rid of bad cards from your deck in deck builders.

    • @BoardGameCo
      @BoardGameCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the more common term, but weeding is used to (I googled it to remind myself i'm not crazy). boardgamegeek.com/thread/1989651/article/29025369#29025369

    • @kevinsayers5985
      @kevinsayers5985 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mabos555 that's not the same thing. Those are the actual words the games use for the action on the card to get a rid of a different card or itself from your deck. We're talking about the overall strategy of getting rid of cards from your deck, culling cars, or weeding cards as Alex says, or milling as Thomas said. All valid, I just hadn't the term weeding. Milling is used a lot in CCGs like magic

    Rajas of the Ganges (pronounced Gun-Geh natively) and Marvel Champions are my two favourite games right now. Ganges is so popular in my house I can table it 5 days a week!
    Highly recommend the second expansion box. The additional river tiles and special land tiles add so much variety.

    However, after becoming a VERY regular follower of your channel, I started to wonder how come you have never mentioned Scythe?

    Quest for El Dorado improves greatly with the mini-expansions (BGG promo shop) and the first expansion Hero & Hexes. The improved market and new features make the trekking to the Temple more fun filled with better choices and combos. If you want a longer game, then go ahead and add the Golden Temple (or play it by itself).

  • @iansutton7416
    @iansutton7416 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Interesting list. Sometimes it feels like we have very different tastes in games, yet I have and enjoy both Quest for El Dorado and Rajas of the Ganges, so our tastes may be closer than I thought!
    Rather amusingly I'm seemingly rubbish at Rajas if the Ganges, though that doesn't take away any enjoyment. The poor results might be in part be linked to me always having to teach it to new players (a good teacher focuses on ensuring everyone else has grasped the game, more so than their own strategy), or may just be I'm rubbish at it ;¬). It's a game that seems to get so many 'under the radar' recommendations, that I don't think it's under the radar any more.
