God bless you! Well done for making the step. Always ask for wisdom understanding and faith before you read the bible. If I was you after reading mark id go John. And then Luke and then Matthew. Then read Acts and then read Paul’s epistles. After that I’d read Genesis Exodus Leviticus numbers and Deuteronomy. Keep praying and asking God for direction and answers for the things you don’t understand. Try and find a good Bible led church and make Christian friends. God bless you

My encouragement to you would be to try your best and read/ study the Bible as whole. Reason I say this is because every prophecy and event gives context to what we are experiencing today. Try to understand what is being described from what is being prescribed. I could suggest more but don't want to weigh you down. Be blessed.

i only listened to her argument on john 3:16 and after listening to her for less than 2 minutes (it's unbearable to listen to as it's full of bs), here are my thoughts.. she kept confusing herself, possibly to also confuse the viewers. i'm 100% sure she was never a christian, her reasoning, her arguments are not only far from the truth, but also twisted and full of malice. like i'm listening to the demon himself. she's totally clueless as to why jesus had to die, and that reason is "central to christian belief". totally unbelievable for an "ex-christian". maybe she got herself into a cult or something. but i'm sure she's lying that she was a christian.
i would've believed her if she explained the verse in good faith and tell us why christians believe that way, and then criticize that belief. if she really was a christian why not tell us a christian pov? most probably because she knows NONE of it.. and what she did? she explained the verse in a very twisted, almost diabolical way. the look on her face and how her voice changed to a high pitch is very disturbing, like someone's been possessed or something. probably what happens to someone who goes too much to bIm/hummus rallies.
one last thing, she kept blabbering on the last part about belief. how you could be saved by just having belief only. again, totally clueless. obviously driven by their Ieftist/w0ke/d3monic agenda.
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me." (John 14:23-24)

@@Emanuel-hh4uu No, the Hebrew Old Testament does not say to marry your rapist. In the chapter in question it references rape multiple time in a row by using the Hebrew word for "forced". Then it uses an entirely different word towards the end of the chapter where the NIV translation inexplicably decided to translate it as rape.... The NIV is not a very literal translation either. If you look at formal equivalent translations you will find that they treat the difference in Hebrew by using a difference in English....and then suddenly it no longer says rape. I think the first passage from Romans will dictate the rest. People want THEIR preferences to be above God's and He CLEARLY tells us He is sovereign AND that His ways are NOT our ways! He also asks us to test Him by being obedient and holding Him to His Word (which one has to know to find out our benefits). If one does this, they will learn that God IS LOVE and ALWAYS keeps His Word and although we do not understand everything (remember, The Bible says we see thru the glass darkly), we can FULLY trust Him! I think we don’t even realize we have been putting God in our own constraints of what WE think is fair and right. Eventually you accept it and begin to trust that He is good and beyond your ability to judge and sometimes even understand. And honestly, when I came to this realization and accepted it, my gratitude towards Him for saving me became SO much greater. Off the charts grateful!

I did, and the Spirit also led me out of the RCC. Most of the priests there said normal people can't really understand the Bible, they need a priest to interpret it.
I became a much better Christian after leaving the RCC. God wants a heart that loves Him because He does save and forgive. I found at least one passage that made me say the hell with this, this is as bad as the old liars in the RCC.
But I also kept the door open to learning what it really might mean. It was Solomon saying it was difficult to find an honest man, but he'd never found an honest woman. To me that is encouraging men to hate women.
Finally, since I kept my mind open, I decided that Solomon was NOT a man after God's heart, and he gathered women who believed in false gods, and followed their ways. So God never gave him a good woman.

God is in every part of nature (such as eclipses, insect life cycles, the seasons, the laws of physics). God has been there through every part of human history. God then gave us his word which is how he speaks to us as well as through learned men who have been able to learn more in depth things about the Bible in order to teach the rest of us.

He punishes those he molded for his purpose of bringing about his own glory - his patience there is not to allow those people to choose him eventually- it clearly says it's to show his glory. Stop adding in your own justifications and just read the text. I grew up "harmonizing scripture " which is just a fancy way of not admitting the contradictions that exist all throughout the Bible.

@@scholarlyanalyst7700 Evolution has nothing to do with this, the issues covered here are spiritual not physical, scientific, earthly.
A real god would, by definition "be greater than" any human ideas or theories. That is one way the one God separated himself from the myriad manmade so-called gods (and religions) from the beginning.
Christianity is of course based on Judaism and Jesus is Jewish. Starting with these determines right or wrong ways of understanding the whole bible, which the woman in the original video seems to be ignorant of.

    • @n2ity66
      @n2ity66 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@TheJohnsonCrew The woman in the original vid and you also, seem to not understand that all of the issues mentioned have to be "interpreted" as to their meaning in the large context of God's self-definition in the OT-- seen through the history of interactions with the Jewish people over centuries.
? You say: choice, punishes, molded, allowed, given... us...
Who is "us"? Do you understand that literally *all humanity* every living person, past, ancient, prehistoric, neanderthal, savages, tribes, peoples, nations-- in any and every place and time-- violate/s/ed-- their knowledge and connection to God by being separated from him through sin?
This gives the a priori context for everything taught in the scripture, and that Jesus said and did. God sees and knows everything, so the default position is that everybody dies, separated from him after death. And death itself is a disastrous event/condition caused by our sin and disconnect from God in the firstplace.
But the bible point is: that God being merciful did not and does not allow this to happen-- so he intervened to alter that default to turn into life, resurrection and good relationship to him. All these supposed problems of contradiction or disharmonizing, and this woman's issues dissolve when you get the whole perspective.
None of these things are "about us" what we think, morally feel or intellectually wrestle with... the Bible is about the salvation of mankind from what we condemn/ed "ourselves" to.

For example, the Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes that we all go to the shadow world after death regardless of merit. However, in Matthew, Jesus himself talks about eternal punishment for the wicked.
These things are not reconcilable. Matthew simply takes precedence.

So as a man He felt sadness and pain and hunger and thirst. He loved His life and His family and friends. When He knew His time was short. He wept and sweated blood... He was devastated to have to go through this criminal's punishment. But He did so willingly. The scriptures say He was punched and kicked and whipped. The skin of His back was like tattered rags. The whip was made of sharp bone, glass shards, metal balls, and leather. He was beaten all night to the point that He was unrecognizable. He was nailed to the cross, piercing a major vein in the middle of the hand and feet causing nerve damage and agonizing pain. His position on the cross was in a way that His lungs was locked in the inhale position. To exhale, He had to lift Himself up by the nails in His hands....rubbing His open back on a splinter ridden cross. His heart busted within His body. And before He died from this cardic episode, He said, "It is finished." Very odd. But He was saying, " Father, I took the punishment meant for Gerard's crimes against you...if he puts his trust in that, he is free to everlasting life." And He showed what that looked like by rising from the dead...proving also that He is God. You call it a weekend, but it more than than that. Father God can see your sin no more and you can live forever because Jesus, as you say, "sacrificed His weekend." To save your soul this is a reflection of the old sacrificial law... of innocent/perfect blood shed to cleanse people from sin. God's 2 natures, wrath and love was satisfied that day. Jesus said, "No greater love than man, lay His life down for His friends." If you are deconstructing Gerard or you never known Jesus. Put or return your trust in Jesus and turn away from all unrighteousness. Take care.

How far you can go to understand God determines how well you love him. How can you say God hates women and his people yet you've been living your Life normally as a hateful woman towards your God for a long time all because you didn't understand yet he hasn't struck you, that on its own is mercy and free weal.

You never explain her criticism directly, but you invent something else to rebut as though your listeners cannot perceive what you are doing. Your objective is to pacify the people who would listen to Ms Burke's concerns with the Christian narratives as written in the Holy Bible. You cannot wash away the words in scripture with creative word play. The simplest way to deal with the problems scriptures present is to acknowledge that they were written by MEN. Men WROTE DOWN the words but GOD is the author of the Bible. According to scripture the Word is God-breathed, (by God)
It’s no different than someone wanting to write a book and hiring someone else to write the words down.
And concerning “controversial scripture”, one example:
There is an order in marriage, just like there’s an order at work, or in government. The husband is the head of the home because someone has to be. Doesn’t mean a woman can’t have a different opinion, but if a final decision has to be made, the husband would be responsible for the outcome, and he’d be more accountable for making a bad decision.
A husband’s role is in many ways harder than the woman’s. If she submits, and he’s wrong, he gets the blame.
And at work there are supervisors, office managers, etc…. There are CEO’s who make decisions and pass them down, But if he’s wrong, he will be responsible, not the guy who just got hired or the guy in the mailroom. So he usually has the sole responsibility for any bad decisions that hurt the company
      I’m a woman in a traditional marriage.
My husband is very supportive of me, but when it comes to major decisions, he always takes my opinion into account, but when he makes the final decision, if he makes the wrong one, then he gets all the blame.
But let me make it clear, no man better abuse his wife, because God says “Men, love your wives”
Abuse is not love and God is not okay with domestic abuse, of spouses or children, and a woman should do what keeps her and her children safe.
God is against divorce, but that doesn’t mean he wants a man to abuse his wife or children, and divorce is not the ultimate sin, as long as theres a valid reason, such as adultery of a partner, or ongoing abuse. Divorce causes a lot of pain, especially to children, but abusing a child or them watching their father abuse their mother and can’t do a thing about it, causes even more pain. Sometimes divorce is choosing between the lesser of two evils.
He said he hates divorce because it hurts people, and often especially children, but he gave valid grounds, he said except in adultery, because then vows have been broken. BUT, VOWS are also broken if a man who promised to love his wife, at the altar, physically abuses her, he too has broken his wedding vows, even if he never committed adultery.

What a disappointment, I actually took the time to watch this video because I heard that you had made some compelling counterpoints to Kristi Burke's video. Nothing you stated, and I mean NOTHING, debunks what she said, or justifies what those bible verses state. I was pretty sure I was in for a disappointment right off the bat when you attempted to justify Romans 9 verse, God is under no moral obligation to extend to us salvation!!?? I would argue that it is completely immoral to offer a creature you created eternal salvation without a clear path, or way to achieve that salvation, by testing them in so many different immoral ways, when again, they have no clear set of rules or guidelines to go by. If you say god has no obligation to be moral himself, they why is it said we are created in his image, or why does he want his creations to be moral if that attribute is not something he holds as a cherished attribute personally.
Your analogy about the teacher and rewarding candy to the students was just god awful, no pun intended, first, they do have obligations to their students. A teacher is obligated to educating their students, or in a bigger sense, imparting them with knowledge that will help them navigate the world around them as an adult when they venture out on their own, no? So the mere fact of bribing them with a candy reward if they behave in the proper way, by the rules she's laid out, is already teaching them that morality is interchangeable with rules.
Being kind to your neighbors, or helping the less fortunate, or not stealing things that don't belong to you should be considered selfless acts, that help others suffer less and enjoy life more, leading to a more prosperous enlightened and happy society. Going by your logic or your gods logic, those things are only done in order to get a prize at the end, you wrap it all up with a nice little bow and call it morality. It is a good analogy for Christianity as a whole, which uses personal satisfaction, one might even say greed, in order to get people to act in a manor, and live their life as the religion sees fit. That's not morality, let's not get it twisted, morality is a very personal thing, two people that live next door to each other, and are good friends, could have very different moral values. Basically the teacher is teaching her kids to only do something if there is something in it for them, and that is no way to send a child out into the world.
There are many other flaws in just that analogy alone, but they, as the rest of your video is too much to get into, you are simply another Christian apologist, and a poor one at that, I have heard far more convincing and intelligent apologies or explanations of the Christian faith, than the drivel that you laid out, do you ever have nontheists on your channel to debate, or give counter points?? I doubt it, any of them with half a brain would your shred your nonsense to pieces. Good day sir.

      Hello Sun,
Just wanted to add a comment on your post. I want to start off with agreeing with you on some of your points when it comes to his analogies. Watching the video I was very confused and disagreed with certain points, but in my opinion making analogies between humans and God can be tricky due to how God and humans relationship work. So I won't really talk about the analogies because they were poorly made unless you want to.
What caught my eye was when you said nothing debunks or justifies those bible verses. I won't go over all the points, but I thought third verse was pretty clearly debunked. The translation here was pretty bad, and even using the same translation from prior verses, we get 2 conflicting messages. One were we are told that adultery (and rape) is a sin punishable by death, and a couple verses later you can pay for your rape and get a wife? Looking at the context of the chapter and also looking at different translations, it is clear that the rape to get wife pipeline is definitely not what was intended here.
Like I said earlier, I don't agree with everything that was said in this video, but I disagree with the notion that everything Kristi was right. If you want to go in more detail about the species we can, I just thought I'd add my two cents. Have a good day.

@@ashtonrene1524Wrong and you didn't pay attention to the verses... Adultery and rape is only punishable by death to a woman that is betrothed or married... It is not punishable by death to a woman who is NOT betrothed or married... This is why the Bible is clearly misogynistic in many of its laws... It's only a punishment of death when it violates a woman who has already entered into a contract with a man... If that woman is a virgin who HAS NOT BEEN PLEDGED to be married, then the rules are different... The man who rapes her doesn't get put to death... Instead he just only pay her father fifty shekels of silver... Essentially a fine and then he must take her as his wife for life... This is disgusting and immoral... And Parr willfully ignored that fact as he was reading the prior verses that are very clear.

    • @ashtonrene1524
      @ashtonrene1524 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@Hieiman
      Hello Hiei,
Yes the verse is talking about non-married /engaged women. I brought up the prior verses within the same translation more to show that this seems to be the outlier on God’s stance due to the translation. God takes rape seriously, as we see here.
The NLT isn’t the only translation that says grape here; there are 11 other translations that use the same word. The problem with these translations is that all these versions fall under “thought for thought” or “paraphrasing“ instead of word for word translations (this information was obtained by the 56 translations available on Bible Hub).
The issue with translating Hebrew to English is how many of their words have multiple meanings. The first half of the verse in question is: כִּֽי־יִמְצָ֣א אִ֗ישׁ נַעֲרָ֤ בְתוּלָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־אֹרָ֔שָׂה וּתְפָשָׂ֖הּ וְשָׁכַ֣ב עִמָּ֑הּ וְנִמְצָֽאוּ׃
Which can roughly translate to: “If a man comes upon a virgin who is not engaged and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are discovered,”
The important part is the part “they are discovered.“. Adultery only gets discovered because the people involved do not report it themselves. Grape would have the victim report it hence in the earlier verse talking about consensual experiences (verse 23 “If a man is found lying with another man’s wife…”) they find out about it but when it comes grape there’s no reference to this.
Another point for this is looking at the original law in Exodus (Deuteronomy, or “repetition”) when it comes to unwed adultery. Exodus 22:16: “If a man seduces a virgin for whom the bride-price has not been paid, and lies with her, he must make her his wife by payment of a bride-price.”
With all these points, I believe it points to this being the original intent and not the mistranslation (why would seducing and grape have the same punishment when we saw the info from above?). Lastly, this point wasn’t brought up, but I think it makes the situation more clear. The woman isn't forced to marry him if she doesn’t want to (or her father if she is a minor). The following verse “If her father refuses to give her to him, he must still weigh out silver in accordance with the bride-price for virgins.“
The law was put in place to make sure that men couldn’t just sleep with whoever they wanted; if the woman wanted to marry him, he’d have to pay her and her family, and if she didn't, he’d still have to pay her a huge sum. All decisions for the man are stripped from him and given to the woman (or her family). I hope this made my original point clearer. Have a good day.

God sacrificed Himself so that we could live free of sin, because no persons, not one human being could ever live sin free, except for Jesus, that’s what we call grace. I've seen several comments about people losing their faith due to searching for reasons to disbelieve, wanting to play God or even claiming they were never believers to begin with. While I can't speak for Kristi, I can speak from my own experiences growing up in a Christian house hold my entire life. I have been surrounded by the word of God since birth, was saved at 7 years old and experienced complete and total faith in God for years. However, after experiencing countless arguments on how to interpret the bible, what's in context and what's out of context, attending churches ranging from reformed, to baptist, to charismatic, honestly I just am so worn and tired. The faith I once had that never faltered has slowly dimmed over time, and it is the worst pain imaginable. BELIEVE me when I say I have no desire to abandon God and that I want to have full faith in him because he is the security I have had my entire life. I believe many people questioning their faith are coming from a place of confusion, feeling betrayed by fellow Christians and questioning who is telling the actual truth. It can feel impossible to sift through the countless arguments, interpretations and opinions of scripture. I can't count the amount of times I've wished I could just erase all of the doubts that have plagued me, because the last thing I want is an existence without God. Having Christians claim I'm seeking reasons to not believe God makes the pain even worse because I never wanted any of this.

Or the prospect of facing Him on Judgment Day?
As for the child sacrifice thing, Allen covered that when talking about the driving out of nations in the land to be given to the Israelites at that time; those nations were notably wicked for many things including child sacrifice, hence driven out by God. God still hates child sacrifice, and he hates sin altogether.

@thetruedaoster8863 The problem is that human sacrifice doesn't atone for sins. This is a barbaric ritual and Christians need to realize how immoral this practice is. There is no original sin that requires a blood sacrifice.
John 3:16 says God loved us so much he murdered his own son. Normal people are appalled by this. Killing your children is not an act of love.
“Would you rather take the cross yourself?” If you're speaking metaphorically then…yes. If I'm guilty of a crime then it's immoral to punish someone else for it. Especially if it's my only son!

    • @thetruedaoster8863
      @thetruedaoster8863 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ryanrevland4333 Human sacrifice does not atone for sins, that is true. But God sacrificed himself (in the person of Jesus, who is God in the flesh). "There is no original sin that requires a blood sacrifice", that is not entirely true. In the Garden of Eden, in Chapter 3 of Genesis, we are told that sin entered into the world, which God had made (and the world was very good before Chapter 3). God made a good world, but mankind has messed it up by turning away from God. That is sin.
Normal people are appalled by sin, and rightly so. God didn't exactly kill his Son by his own hand alone; it was the wickedness of man's hearts (as a result of our sin) that killed him. Jesus warned them of that through the Parable of the Vineyard Tenants; Jesus waned them that they would reject him and ultimately kill - and sure enough they did. And yet God worked through that all to bring about our redemption. It does not make crucifixion or child sacrifice any less horrific; however the sin we collective committed against our holy God (who gave us life) means that there is no way humanity can atone for our sin. Also, God's ways are far higher than ours; we cannot equate our human 'morality' to the same level as God's morality.
Finally, I didn't entirely mean metaphorically about taking the punishment yourself (though understandably I could've meant that too). God is still patient with us, wanting ALL to repent and turn to him for forgiveness.
We owed a debt that we cannot pay (even for our own sin, or 'crime'); God paid the debt that he did NOT owe - and He did it all in Himself.
We may not know everything about God, or why He chose to do things the way He did, but in Christ Jesus we know enough about Him that we can trust Him to reign (He at least does it better than we ever could).
I won't pretend I answered your objections in the way you'd want to hear or such that it satisfies you, but I hope and pray that you would see that our God loves us amazingly, even we are at our most unloveable. . . .He demonstrated that through Jesus, who lives AND reigns!

@thetruedaoster8863 I appreciate your thoughtful response. These conversations are important not just for us but others reading this exchange and forming their own opinions.
I believe Christianity has layers of immoral premises. The first one is the concept of original sin that you mentioned. Born guilty and deserving of punishment.
It's like standing before a judge and being sentenced to death for a crime that your ancestor committed. Even worse, there's no evidence this “crime” ever occurred and has all the hallmarks of mythology.
The second is the proposition of vicarious redemption. After the judge sentences you to death he brings out his innocent child and shoots him in the head. Then He turns to you and says, “That's how much I love you. You're free to go.”
Lastly is the idea that if you don't believe premise one and two, then you will be tortured for eternity. For atheists, this is an empty threat because we find the whole system absurd. The real damage occurs to the believer who views society through this lens. When you believe that billions of Jews, Muslims, and Hindus are deserving of eternal torture, that will have a negative effect on your mental health.

If you present facts that negates their dogma, they are still obligated to dismiss it and follow faith. If you propound logic, they are obligated to invoke a “higher or mysterious ways” argumentation. If you suggest skepticism, they champion credulity.
To them doubt is a challenge to overcome, not a virtue that enables a clearer perspective of reality and truth.
This type of reasoning allows for strong biases towards one’s beliefs especially when confronted in these beliefs in an aggressive tone. Basically they view disagreements as persecution. And feeling of being attacked based on one’s beliefs and cause, makes people think they must be doing the right thing.

If that is what you learned, I agree "it is absolutely ridiculous". But let me tell you: that is not what the Bibles says. The Bible is about good news, not about your sad understanding.

These were such difficult passages to go through and explain. You've shed some really good light on them as well as teaching some great principles on the integrity of God's word. Thanks for taking the time to do this. An encouragement to dig deeper into the word and really find out what God means through scripture. Loved that you also used the bible to explain the various passages.

Allen is solid, but I think Mike Winger could dig a lot deeper with these tough passages.
And Corey Minor is pretty good with Greek interpretation...(useful for accurate Bible study/translation).
God Bless all 3 Brothers in Christ.

Mike Winger and Leighton Flowers have the most thought out answers on these passages in my opinion, citing the Bible as a whole really beautifully.

Brother Allen, thank you for using your time to help someone who has a whole channel dedicated to Bible bashing. I wish I had that patience like you do.

Great job Allen is answering her complaints with God, with gentleness and respect. We will pray for Kristi that she will find the true Gospel message. I see in the comments a lot of nonbelievers have chimed in; this is good at least they can hear the Gospel message also. Peace

@jeromelacap5460 Uhhhhh how has she done wrong when she has no say in weather she believes or not? How can she do wrong if God chose her for damnation? Can she give herself faith....or is it God that gives faith???? Soooooo if she's wrong for not believing....is it on her or did God give her faith?

@@timjohnson1646 sir you're defeating your own point! You have a choice right now, right now to believe!!! So does she and are you doing it, or are you refusing it!? Instead of using that as an excuse when you nor her,nor I,nor anyone else, truly understands how this works, put that same energy into telling as many people as possible about him! It's God who saves not us! Stop trying to play God and just do what he's said!!
