Hey hows it going i just finished my homebrew wich has
    1 can woolworths draught
    1 kilo dextrose
1 kilo biscuit malt and about 300 grams quick oats
    40 grams saaz dry hopped
    20 grams halertau dry hopped
    Kaveic yeast
Its bubbling away now so hopefully its drinkable but i got a strong stomach and love to drink so I'll still be drinking it regardless.

@@basichomebrew610....It turned out terrible all those extra ingredients and still turned out like shit.I must admit I think the quick oats helped the head retention it did seem to give it a nice head that stuck around.I do think your right normal table sugar gave it a terrible cidery twang I used raw sugar before and the twang wasn't as bad but yeah no more woolworths cans for me.

Cool. I just dusted off the FV yesterday and mixed up one of these. Might throw some hops in towards the end but glad to see it's decent enough as is.

    Hi mate,
I've had a "decent" result recently with:
    *Woolies kit
    *Coopers Be 3
    *About 150-200g left over treacle
*Amarillo 40g (25 chucked in the boil & the rest dry at day 7)
*40g coffee beans (dry addition in hops bag (day 0-7)
*Fermented @ Perth winter room temp for 12-14 days (few days longer as i was a bit busy)
*Batch primed @ bottling with brewing sugar
Had very little hope for this one as it was a try the kit & use up some left overs situation but it has actually turned out pretty nice. Def not a session beer but quit pleasant to have a couple on a warm day.
Keep up the good work with the channel👍🏻🍻

    Hey mate,
I just got a 5 keg setup so I'm wanting to get the pipeline filled without spending a fortune and taking too much time. I'm gonna do one of these today with BE2 and I'm thinking about dry hopping with something to make it a little more interesting. Any recommendations of something to dry hop?
    Thanks for the videos!

good stuff! maybe any of the 'C' hops (cascade, citra etc) are usually pretty good for aroma. probably doing the same

    Hi mate enjoying your vids
I have brewed the woolies lager with good results. Using goodies pack light dry malt
Corn syrup dextrose, European lager yeast fermented at 12dg Two weeks top drop. Made 21lt then keged for two weeks 👍

Cool video! I watched the making of this and have got some ideas about how you can improve a kit like that without costing you too much extra time, if any. So first a question: do you have a decent size saucepan or stock pot? If so, how much does it hold? It's perfectly ok if you don't have one. Cheers!

    • @basichomebrew610
      @basichomebrew610  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi! I have a small pot big enough for a small wort eg 500gm LDME and a few litres. So possibly can work depending on what you have in mind!

@@basichomebrew610 Cool. Ha! Just noticed you had a small pot on your Pacific Ale clone video! Perfect size. Watching that video now. Also, I've had a few at this point (I'm in the US - Eastern Time). I'll definitely share some ideas when I'm sober. But I can already tell that clone recipe is in the direction I'm thinking of.

@@basichomebrew610 So I watched more of your channel and I didn't realize that the idea I had in mind with the saucepan and improving a kit is something you sort of already did on the XPA video except the yeast! When I make a Pale Ale or IPA with a kit, I get great results using ("improving") a cheap lager kit like Woolworth's as the base, while using dry malt instead of dextrose, steeping some grains for color and added flavor, adding some hops and swapping out the yeast for something like Safale US-05.

Just my 2 cents worth ,I've been home brewing on and off for about 15 years ,tried everything, Morgan's, Coopers etc, I don't know why but they all tasted horrible. I started brewing Woolies ,Coles ,Bi lo generics and everyone turned out okay .I always double keg as well . Thanks for your video .
