A lot has to do with Paige leading UCONN to win the NCAA tournament. Yes, I believe she is eligible to add even another season at UCONN (covid and injuries) but chances are slim she will stay. If UCONN comes up short, well, I don't know. Something else is a factor. Will Paige wind up with an unbelievable endorsement deal with someone? That could determine what she wants to do. TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE: Through the years sports has produced moments that sometimes are hard to believe. Individual performances of excellence which seemed to come out of nowhere! Owners, coaches, players, doing extraordinary things to achieve success beyond anyone's imagination. Wherever Paige goes, what are the chances of her becoming a player/coach? Ridiculous? On first read it does sound crazy. But, putting her incredible level of talent on the side for a moment, consider this. Her basketball IQ is off the charts. Note: She would have arguments with Geno Auriemma at UCONN when she was a freshman! Does she have the moxie to run a team? Not only could she but there's something else to consider (while we're at it!) and that Paige is a wonderful human being and deeply respected by everyone, friend and foe alike. She has been monitoring the WNBA for years and is very aware of what is going on and what has to be done to make the league very successful. You ask, how would she relate to the players on the team if she was a teammate and coach? Believe me when I say this, a player in the league for 10 years will play hard for her because she knows Paige can lead. Of course Paige would secure the help of very competent assistant coaches on the bench and she will employ techniques used when she was at UCONN to get the best out of her players. Remember what I said earlier: Amazing things have occurred in the world of sports that were thought of as impossible. Do you want to put this possibility in that group? Okay. But I'll leave you with this, Paige Bueckers has been a coach on the court since she played High School ball. Her basketball IQ is probably as high as Magic Johnson and LeBron James and may I add current and former players in the NBA know exactly who she is and what she is capable of doing looking ahead.
She is, her best chance is to go over seas otherwise she is going to get the same crap as Caitlin, but if she were to stay and get drafted by the sparks, she’ll have Brink there too
I agree with others, Dallas would be a good fit. They need help on defense, and she is a good addition to any offense with her bb IQ and versatile skills.
Generally speaking, the #1 pick goes to a truly terrible team, unless the pick gets traded for a good player or something like that. Eventually it will lift the bad teams. Look at the Fever two years ago and today.
I fully understand where you are coming from. BUT, look at that roster. Add Paige and barring injuries, they should be a playoff team that can go deep. Maybe even contend for a title. Besides, it's time for the old guard to retire or go overseas and stay. Youth will be served with a better brand of ball. And with players that fans recognize and WANT to root for.
Can't help but think some of the pushback against the Fever is because they exposed some poorly managed teams. Come to think of it, the Lynx turned things around too. Maybe teams should be taking a page from their playbooks---and it's not always about drafting a "star". Washington is a head-scratcher, Austin is seriously gifted but her numbers don't reflect it.
Before fever fans start taking bows about how great the fever are at tanking and taking obvious #1 picks in Clark & Boston. Remember you just let NaLyssa smith go as the 4 spot is awful for the fever. But the fever had the perfect 4 in Alana smith and cut her. If dunn would have kept smith then the fever are likely still playing as pick and roll with Clark and smith would have been nasty! Clark, Mitchell, Hull, Alana smith and Boston. What could have been!
@@back2sports But elsewhere, you argued Paige's fate as the #1 pick is so much worse than Caitlin Clark's was because the Fever organization isn't as bad as Sparks & Wings. So which is it? It seems to me you are just arguing out of both sides of your mouth to justify complaining about Paige actually having to endure playing on a bad team like all #1 draft picks. Why does Paige, unlike every other #1 pick, deserve special treatment & a better team her rookie year? Maybe because she went to UConn? Though I hope the new Fever president is a sign that things will change, let's be honest, the Fever is just as bad if not worse than Sparks & Wings. Sides is by far the worst coach in the league (including all the coaches that were just fired) & Dunn has made some of the most idiotic decisions & cuts that a GM can make.
I know it isn't probably not going to be the Valkyries but hey, I think choosing Paige is a great way to build a great team around that way. Just saying
Yes , that got 1 championship with aglar but then he resigned suddenly and whispers where were out that. And has been an S .... Show since - Derek Fisher was brutally bad.
Top teams don’t normally get first pick in the draft. That’s the point. Fever were a trash team and they got #1 pick twice in a row and now they are a solid playoff team. Of course, your pick has to perform but usually they do ok. Aliyah Boston couldn’t get it done in 2023 but she still got ROTY. Sparks has potential, they just need a good coach. Wings? They are a mess just like the Sky. But they also lost their coach so we will see.
In any normal year, had she stayed healthy, Brink would be a legitimate ROTY. Reese was only in the conversation because she sank her claws into Clark's coattails two years ago and has been riding them ever since.
Your takes are pretty mediocre. How you can guarantee Paige will go No.1 no matter what is hyperbole. She may be flashy and good--but she is also something that is much more important: injury-prone. "When UConn opened the season against Dayton, 584 days had passed since Paige last played in a real game. Bueckers didn't just tear her ACL, either. In Dec. 2021, she suffered a tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear that sidelined her for 19 games as a sophomore." The best ability is "availability". Which reminds me: Caitlin Clark has never missed a game due to injury. Just throwing that in there for the CC haters who like to claim Paige is better than CC. Delusion.
Paige was the number one prospect coming out of high school in that senior class, and that was before the injuries came. Sorry not sorry Paige >>> CC it is still a fact.
@@petep5207 She would have gone number 1 last year in the draft if she didn’t get injured anyways. So I’m not worry where she places in this draft at all
Availability might get you on the roster, but it’s the player with talent and hustle who actually climb the rankings. Being present doesn’t mean you are a game changer

This WNBA season, with an unprecedented start attraction player in Caitlyn Clark, showed that the WNBA was and still is NOT ready for the spotlight. Players were coasting, pace was slow and the games were boring to watch. Clark showed everyone just how sluggish the WNBA teams/players have been all along by smashing the rookie records and racking up numbers that made the veterans look bad. Paige is a very similar kind of player.. very efficient shooter and arguably as good a playmaker as Caitlyn. A year or so ago I suggested Paige not bother with the WNBA due to the terrible culture and look at playing overseas instead. I don't believe that will happen.. but I suspect Paige will not enjoy the WNBA no matter where she gets drafted. If there is any hope of a WNBA revival.. players like Clark and Paige (and Brink and others) need to CHANGE THE CULTURE of the WNBA to get them away from the constant in-fighting, whining, and worst yet BORING pace the WNBA currently is. Clark has kick-started the process this year.. but the current awful WNBA culture is very ingrained in the players and the rot runs deep into management and ownership as well. One things is for sure, if the WNBA does not find a way to capitalize on the excitement Caitlyn and Paige can bring to the league.. then it will fizzle and go back to being something nobody cares to watch.
i fear this is all delusion and nonsense…. i can guarantee paige will have no issue with “wnba culture” considering she already hangs out w a lot of wnba vets of her own volition. caitlin and paige’s dream has always been to play in the wnba, and they are always talking up the vets in this league, so idk why you’re so convinced of the idea that they wouldn’t want to play in the league. i’ll tell u right now, neither would agree w ur assessment of the league as slow or boring. i can guarantee that. and it’s so interesting that u single out paige, caitlin and cameron brink as the ones to “change the culture….” caitlin is a whiner. caitlin talks back to the refs, she can be rude to her teammates. this is known behavior. so i don’t see how in any universe *caitlin* of all ppl is going to change this alleged culture of whining when she does it all too.
I'd go overseas for a few years.... make a decent living and let the politics of the wnba solve itself then hope to come back to a more friendly healthy environment

Envelope in the freezer for the Valkyrie 🏃🏿♂️💨
Conspiracy Theory would have Juju going to the Sparks in 2027. If that is the case, then they won’t get Paige in 2025.
They do well to wait on JuJu...she's healthier and more talented.
Paige playing next to Arike. NO!
Generally speaking, the #1 pick goes to a truly terrible team, unless the pick gets traded for a good player or something like that. Eventually it will lift the bad teams. Look at the Fever two years ago and today.
How do the Golden State Valkyries play into the draft? Is it possible Paige may go there?
No
likely the will get the Number 5 pick but we don't know yet. TBD
Ok maybe Greg Bibb can get suspended like George stienbrenner. Then I would have more hope
Austin is injury prone
Just saying
Never know money talks. I think it will be between the Mystics, Valkyries,or Seattle. Maybe Liberty.
Dallas would be a great place for her. They already have great players. We can see how well she gels with those giants.
Mystics has a good coach and Miss Edwards is there.
All the upcoming players, avoid the wnba draft, go play overseas way more money way more professionalism.
Sparks are not that bad of a choice, with what they have, if Brinks is healthy.
I heard the Valkyrie will get numbet 1 pick and thats where shes going
Any team but Chicago.
Michael cooper was a great coach, won two straight then they fired him. And been a mess ever since.
Yes , that got 1 championship with aglar but then he resigned suddenly and whispers where were out that. And has been an S .... Show since - Derek Fisher was brutally bad.
If the team is in the WNBA league ... Why shouldn't she go to Europe.
Caitlyn went to a bad team and made it a playoff team. If paige cant do the same he not as good as Caitlyn
In Dec. 2021, she suffered a tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear that sidelined her for 19 games as a sophomore."
The best ability is "availability".
@@summerjohnson1603- REPEAT: "The best ability is availability". Sorry, not sorry.
@@petep5207 she made it through last year just fine
@@petep5207 She would have gone number 1 last year in the draft if she didn’t get injured anyways. So I’m not worry where she places in this draft at all
Availability might get you on the roster, but it’s the player with talent and hustle who actually climb the rankings. Being present doesn’t mean you are a game changer
Just pull off an Elway and refuse to play for teams she doesn't want.
John elway wow - speaking my language. Or could - if played another sport like tennis and could pull a Bo Jackson!
i am still team Paige going to Mystics
Why would Paige want to go to Washington lol, La is the best to build ur endorsements and Paige, Rickea, brink and hamby is a super team
B/c magic previously had CP , Nneka, and gray & screwed that up because he does not know how to run a team.
I hope the transfer to Iowa balls out and squeaks #1 from Psige.
She sucked at Villanova, and Paige exposed her every time they played against each other. She isn't going to steal nothing.
Lucy Olsen is fine player but 29% 3 PT shooter so not really a replacement for CC but the California recruit coming in 2025 Addie Deal. Now that is the hope for Iowa!
@@summerjohnson1603 and Caitlin exposed Paige's hype when the NCAA, not the media, co--named them Freshmen of the Year. Espys mean......NADA.
and so what if Paige exposed Lucy, when the season was over, Lucy dropped more points.
@@back2sports when the second highest scorer of the previous season jumps to Iowa instead of FROM, thats a win. I think Jensen might have a few sleepers in her hands. And I agree all 5 stars are welcome.
@@MrSoulauctioneer You're forgetting TeHina Pao Pao, she played less minutes than either Olsen or PB and was the highest % Three Point SHOOTER in 2023-24. WNBA needs SHOOTERS, not mediocre players.
she wont get lucky and go to a team that already has 2 all stars..
Candace Parker, A'ja Wilson, now THAT'S BEEN excitement WAY before Clark or PB.
I'd go overseas for a few years.... make a decent living and let the politics of the wnba solve itself then hope to come back to a more friendly healthy environment
She doesn't have to go overseas. She's already a millionaire from her NIL deals.
@@talonkarrde2578 according to your logic...once i make my first millions...i should quit and live off of that money till i run out and go back to work again....-_- its called thinking ahead saving for the future....would you be happy making a few grand a year...in the WNBA??
@@ck7cu thats not my logic, thats YOUR logic. I didn't say any of that....
Maybe she can escape the wnba
She’s the perfect fit for the Sparks playing with Cameron Brink, Rickea Jaxson and Dearica Hamby
If she is good, it shouldn’t matter where she go. She should be able to make her team great she doesn’t need to go to a great team to be great. This quit all this baby setting and that players come out of college and be the people that they are supposed to be, an you journalist people need to figure out how to cover sports legit Lee because she is not that special especially when she comes to the lake and she’s a little girl and can’t dominate like the last one you guys set up
CAITLIN went to the WNBA's worst team for Two Years-- AND MADE IT THE MOST WATCHED & PROFITABLE TEAM, ---AND INTO THE 6TH SPOT IN THE PLAYOFFS !!!!!
Caitlin was on a team that was 3+ years into a rebuild. Last year they lost a bunch of close games bc their goal was to tank.
The Sparks will be in year 2 of a rebuild, so a bit earlier in the schedule compared to the Fever
@@decere_b3652 The word "Rebuild" in sports is AN EXCUSE FOR FAILING. No, really. The Sky started better than the FEVER but ended in a bad losing streak and we only heard the word "rebuild" then. Imagine if the Fever got Reese? And Lost more games... You are undermining the effect of One Player in a sport that an Individual can actually make a difference. The SPARKS with a healthy Cam Brink would certainly win more games, FYI
Paige would be fine going anywhere but Chicago, that's a toxic cesspool.
Paige B. will not be the #1 pick in 2025.
Betting many of the fans who put down the idea of Caitlin Clark playing on the Olympic team would have zero problems putting Paige on the Olympic team (if it was an Olympic year) It's that UConn bias.
Unnecessary video, of course she's going to a bad team, that's where good picks
Sorry u did not get it.
Kurt Miller deserved to be fired for not even giving Rickea Jackson a look earlier in the season. He has NO eye for identifying nor using talent.
Yes if hammon or reeves where coaching sparks they would have made playoffs this year. LOL
Shoots from her gut.
PB will never survive the WNBA great defensive players.
I think her best bet would be the Wings.
Why would u want her in DC? They are even worse if a shit show than Dallas or LA he’ll EDD doesn’t even wanna play there 😂😂
I will take a team built by mike Thibaut Vs a team being run by Greg Bibb or Magic johnson.
Only prob was mystics could not tank right as too well run.
@@back2sports keyword you lol and only you
@@BBCLOCKEDIT magic did so well with CP, Nneka, and Gray. Fisher benched them in an elimanation game and he rewarded him by making him a GM. Wonder why they wanted to leave?
And yes it was great that Bibb won a playoff series being GM for 7 years. Just a long rebuild. A shame that the next year he was back in the lottery. But no prob - he can fire Trammell. what will that be 4 coaches in 8 years. Obviously a coaching issue in Dallas as they are really run well.
How depressing. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Caitlin Clark fan, but Paige was a more complete player in high school than CC is right now. It would be a shame to see her talent wasted in a bad organization.
Well let's hope lottery karma & 10% chance to win pays off for washington
She’s gonna go to LA. And the league is gonna be the same ol’ BS. The only games worth watching are the fever games. Sorry but it’s true
Well let's see if Paige can pull a CC22.
Nope, Ju Ju will do that.
PB is not built for the WNBA-Look at how Clark got beat up-she had to survive the horrendous officiating and extra physical play-Good luck PB
PB is too SLOW, they will run her off the court. Can you actually see her play against Alyssa Thomas or Dewanna Bonner??? Get real.
play in Europe
Bye PB.
Paige ain't the savior. You'll see
I hope they don't send her to Chicago. It would be a challenge for her to make it out of there alive. lmao
Everyone is saying Paige, Paige. We will see ,does she have what it takes to play and take the WNBA BS, . Not everyone can deal with it or does she become a Kate Martin and sit the bench. Took Lexi until Caitlin showed up. Berger still waiting her chance.
Wow PB is Kate Martin? Wow. B2S needs to introduce drug testing into the comments section
Berger will be traded.
@@back2sports Kate Martin is a more reliable player. Built tougher.
