I can sure see the advantage of later balers that wrap the outside of the bale so you don't lose hay. I haven't handled bales since 1967. It's all different now.
@lucyjoyw The old commer still exists languishing in the corner of a field. I had to sell it when we had to leave the farm, I had just had the engine completely overhauled at the time, the lorry never got back on the road. It was supposed to have been sold again a few weeks ago to another enthusiast, but it hasn't moved from where it is. It is still ok to restore but it won't have to be left too much longer . Best wishes...Nick.
@CORRIFARM Thank you, sadly the Bedford in this video is no more, I sold it to the Merchants where I worked part time, for carting Jersey Royal potatoes down to the docks for export, they used it for 1 season then sold it on to a chap who broke it up and sold the engine, gearbox and back axel to someone in England. Its a shame because there wasn't much rust on it, it was still a good lorry, its just that he could make more money doing it like that !!
It was supposed to be silage, admittedly a bit on the dry side as it was so hot it was drying faster than we could bale it, but non the less still too green for haylage, weight about right and this is the straight 3cyl 35, not a 35x, I know not a lot of difference though.
Great video of the good little 35 :-) The 35's are great little tractors, We have a 35x at home, sadly it has too high oil pressure right after my father had rebuild the engine for more than 20 years ago (he told me) The smoke is blue aswell, and when we drive with the forager then theres lots of it. I'd really like to fix the problem, did your 35 have that problem? And do you have any idea of what it could be? My best guess is - maybe the engine oil cant get away from the rocker cover, (dirt in the return from the rocker cover) does that sound right? Thanks :-) I love to Watch videos of the 35's, :-) Again - great video! Kind regards - Matti.
good idea with the work lights on the loader so you can see in the dark!

I sold it to my brother when we gave up farming, he still uses it!
poor 35,i would say that front axel is in good shape after being at that carry on for years lol

Haylage by the look of it. Guessing somewhere around 400-500 kgs and towards the limit for the 35x.

nice vid not many bedford trucks round now !!
